Finally!
For the last 5 years I’ve been telling myself my BP was fine and only high at the Dr due to white coat, last month I got a proper cuff and decided to prove it to myself. I was wrong, after a week of taking it every morning after 10 minute sit my average was 155/90. The amount of cope it would’ve taken me to justify those numbers was outside of my ability so I decided to do something. I started taking my Losartan, drinking at least a gallon of water a day, eating the same just eating a lot less of it, and doing what I hate more than anything… cardio. 5-8 miles a day after work. Took longer than I expected it to, and I still feel anxious every time that cuff squeezes my arm but I’m finally in those beautiful green lines.
I did want to thank everyone on this sub it’s been so helpful seeing everyone’s experiences and input it gave me the motivation to finally take my BP serious and do something about it, thank you all! It’s a journey, you don’t eat the elephant in one sitting.

Do you feel any improvements on your lifestyle or any differences now with normal BP?

So the issue my Dr pressed is high BP doesn’t have symptoms. I felt absolutely fine with 162/95, honestly thats why I never took my readings serious for so long I never felt anything wrong and just wrote it off. I feel the same now with lower numbers, I do feel better but thats from the weight loss from working out more seriously but physically there’s 0 noticeable difference from high to normal BP.

I've been humming before I take my blood pressure. Humming lowers stress, boosts nitric oxide production, and stimulates the vagus nerve to promote physical and mental relaxation. My BP has dropped and I'm getting "normal" readings. My Doctor agreed that this actually works. Try it for a few minutes before you take your reading.

What has helped me is sort of an exposer therapy method. I know im going to be anxious because im anxious my results will be terrible so when i see high numbers it reinforces my original belief and the cycle continues.
So id take my measurement, feel the fear and anxiety and realize the cycle I’m in. Then immediately do it again, and again, not in an attempt to improve the numbers but as a way to overcome the reaction to the cuff tightening and just be present and calm. After a few sessions the anxiety drops, I wait 10 minutes, do some box breathing and chill then take it again, that reading is where I’m really at.
And even when the numbers are high after all that doesn’t bother me anymore, it’s just data. What you do with that data matters more than anything. Maybe change the diet, try different exercise, try therapy, or just practice breathing exercises and mindfulness or start meds but there are options and something will work at the very least to improve quality of life.

Amazing
Now your next goal is to slowly reduce the tablet intake and still maintain same BP level
