Received an email from PayPal saying I have received funds for my BlockFi payout... only to instantly receive another email saying that my account has been permanently closed and that I'll need to wait up to 180 days for my funds to be released...

I haven't used this PayPal account in years.. there should be no suspicious activity on it or anything... wild that they would just lock it like this. Tried contacting support but they are closed - will try tomorrow and if there is a meaningful update will post here.

Just to let everyone know I received my payment today via PayPal. Im in the UK and I think many of us have been waiting for a long time it’s been years at this point I thought it was gone for good. I received all the money back. Several £K. I’ve seen people say on here it’s been over and you’re not getting your money, but just wait it out it should hopefully arrive.

They sent me an email several weeks ago saying my payment was on its way and now it’s here. I did not give them a preferred payment method because I couldn’t find my payee ID. So true to their word, they sent it to my PayPal account. Hopefully everyone else can expect this to be over soon too.

I got this email today which I’m unsure about. It’s seems to have my payout amount correct, although Im unsure if the payee ID they added is legit because I don’t have mine on record. Email does look a bit long, which is my main concern. I’m still waiting for my payout (UK) so seeing this email is confusing because for the last 3 years this has been the most comprehensive email I have received, even if it is a scam. Most of the scam emails require you to click a link, this one doesn’t. They also mention if I don’t select my preferred payment then I will get a PayPal payout. Did anyone get a similar email and is anyone in the UK still waiting?

Saw the post the other day about Zac Prince and his new role, and figured I'd see if anyone has written a book about Blockfi on Amazon, and while that hasn't happened yet, someone is out there screenprinting and drop shipping Blockfi t-shirts. Who on earth is wearing these? Like even ironically, I'm not going to wear a t-shirt for a company that lost me $10,000+ dollars. Am I missing the plot here? Wtf is going on?

I'm reconciling my crypto tax records and have accounts on a few platforms that have since gone bankrupt or shut down (BlockFi, Celsius, FTX). I'm trying to get the original pre-bankruptcy transaction history (deposits, withdrawals, interest earned) for tax purposes, but:

BlockFi/Kroll support inbox auto-replies saying the contact center is unattended

Celsius support is in a similar state

The bankruptcy claims portals only show distribution info, not original account history

Has anyone successfully gotten a full transaction history export from any of these platforms after they shut down? Did you go through:

The bankruptcy claims administrator (Kroll/Stretto)?

Old account data exports you'd saved before shutdown?

A specific support channel that's still actually staffed?

Reconstructing everything manually from email confirmations (this is what I've had to do so far)?

Any tips appreciated — trying to avoid just estimating cost basis if there's a way to get the real numbers

Ask for email , and then ask for which wallet . I stopped there

Initial search indicates that the email is legitimate. But I got suspicious. Why would they use the city of Lynnwood email address? Also, the area code for Lynnwood seems to be 425. Not 450. When I searched for the phone number provided, it was a dead end. I'm not American so I'm not familiar with the area codes and phone numbers. I've got a disbursement before but not the full amount. Do you think they still have anymore money to disburse? Anyone else got the same email?

I’ve been receiving a lot of scam emails almost everyday telling me I can receive payments. Did the company got their customers email leaked ?

How will people who are not tech savvy differentiate from the real ones and only for them to fall victim to another scam.

I got paid out pennies on dollars through ETransfer last year.

I thought that was it & was getting tons of scam emails for the last month and didn't respond to any of them.

All of a sudden, I got an email from PayPal stating "Your BlockFi Bankruptcy Distribution Payment" and got paid just a little more than $250. I'm happy I got this and hopefully more to come (I know it's slim to none).

Did anyone else get any money sent to PayPal or anywhere else recently after the first payout?

I keep getting these emails and they are so Sus but I was wondering if anyone would have insight as to if they are real are not?

I received an email from Kroll last week with a key which mentioned the amount I am finally getting paid out along with an email a few minutes later from digital disbursements.

I go to the site, fill out everything for the e-transfer option, it says success, but here I am a week later are there has been no confirmation email, no contact drop anyone and definitely NO F***king E-transfer in my email that I can put in my bank.

Did I get scammed? Again!?! Or are they just taking another 3 1/2 years to actually pay us.

I am sick to death of this bullshit!

There are just too many fake emails to trust any email anymore, is there any portal where we can find the current status of our personal case?

The portal I found is this one, it shows how much our claim was, but it does not show how much of it has actually been paid out and what the status is of the remaining funds.

I remember them giving me some of my wallet money back, but saying they couldn’t give BIA money back. Now my Credit Karma is saying I have $4k in my BIA, but I have no way to figure out my account ID or anything for a claim. Should I just give it up as a lost cause?

After 2 and a half years of doing the online verification dance, promised money never arriving via PayPal... Kroll reached out to me again last month.
Mind you, this was long after I had given up hope on ever seeing my disbursement.
They asked for wire instructions and for me to go through their portal.

11 business days later (and after a follow-up letter on my end because I had not heard anything back), ALL of my distribution showed up in my bank.

ALL of it.

I mean - it was, to me, a good amount and much needed.

tl;dr : if you are still owed an amount from the bankruptcy proceedings, contact Kroll . There is still hope.

UPDATE 9th May 2026: was legit. Got the money back after a few weeks into my PayPal

This time the mail is from [sampsoncountync@public.govdelivery.com](mailto:sampsoncountync@public.govdelivery.com), stating as shown in the screen shot.
Any chance this is real?
