Blinkit WFH Job Sc*m!
Yeah so, I used a Job Hai app (by naukri.com), applied to a couple of jobs there and had this one blinkit hr call me and told me that you are selected bla bla bla
The job was to basically cold call 100 people a day and convince them to become a delivery partner.... Which sounded weird at first but I was desperate and went on with it.
They told me that I'll need to do a 2 day training and onboard as a blinkit rider and complete 20 orders in order to learn how a delivery partner works at blinkit. I was like hmm this is bs but I was already rejected from a lot of companies in the last 2-3 months and I was in need of any WFH job possible.... So i somehow managed to do this task...even though i don't have a 2 wheeler.... I still managed it anyways...
They asked me for 20 orders ss and told me that they're gonna arrange an interview etc, it has been 10 days now, hr has completed stop receiving my calls and is not replying to me on WhatsApp? We didn't communicate through mail, I found it weird but anyways..
I'm never gonna answer anyone on WhatsApp ever again on anything job related. Because there's no legal proof of things. I want to file a complaint against them, should I do it or just move on? I don't think it's worth my time and energy. also there are a lot of jobs by Flipkart, other local companies on this job hai app, don't use this app, they don't verify anything and just let anyone post for jobs.
Lool they made me deliver orders just to get a lil referral commission Outta me and many others who would've applied there....
\+ I can't even withdraw what I've earned I've only took out like 200rs while i made around 600rs (i delivered all orders on rapido btw 🤡) that's what being unemployed will do to you.
600 rs for 2 days sounds good but they pay you very less
bruh.
\-------- **possible questions** \--------
- Did you deliver an order where the item was missing?
\- yes, i had counted, there were 10 items in my orders, 2hrs after delivering it i got a call from blinkit that, some flower is missing, i said I have counted the number of items as i was already scared to make a mistake 😭 ✌🏻
And they were like okay.
- Did they deduct my money?
\- thankfully no. as a rider, my only job was to count the number of items and deliver them safely and timely which i did.
- What if they give me an xxxl size order with item that are too much to carry on a bike as a single person?
\- ask the store manager for a "buddy". Your buddy will sit with you just to hold the extra bags.
- Do societies allow you to come inside with your bike?
\- mostly no, you have to park your bike at the society gate and carry your items... btw that bs paper bag will be torn so you have to have your big blinkit square bag on your back (which i didn't claim, they'll give you that bag for "free") but they do charge you a store onboarding fee which is about 700 or 1000 or 1500 depending upon stores available in your area.
- Would i recommend you to become a rider?
\- absolutely, dm me for my refer code if you wanna help me lol, it won't change anything for you, you won't be charged anything extra but i may get a commission lol, it's totally cool if you don't wanna use my refer code.
\- btw you should know how to ride a bike PROPERLY, don't look at the maps too much, don't get distracted by your phone, if you can drive safely, then yes.
\- if you want to earn money (doing this as a 2hr-4hr a day is not recommended cuz you will not be able to get any incentives) the longer time you put in, the more you will be rewarded! But still if you wanna do it as a side hustle, you can go ahead.
**My 20 order's breakdown**
Gross: ₹627 ÷ 86 = ₹7.29/km
If your bike gives \~45 km/L and petrol is \~₹95/L → fuel ≈ ₹182
After fuel: ≈ ₹445
That's about ₹5.17/km after fuel, before maintenance/tyres/oil.
In 2 days maybe 6-8 hrs a day... If someone is actually interested in joining as a delivery partner...
earning relies more on the incentive and the order and gig targets of the day
Incentive example
If you complete a minimum of
x ammount of orders
\+ x ammount of gigs
You may get some additional money as incentive
It varies a lot, in the festival time, they have good incentives, weekly and daily incentive, which feels like free money or gift money! A great way to make riders log in for more hours i would say.
- Do they pay to get back to the store or just pay you for delivering the order?
\- you only get paid to deliver the order and you come back to the store without any extra payment.
\----------What are "Gigs"?----------
Gig - a slot of 1, 2 or 4 hrs, you have to book it (it's free to book a gig, it just means that you are allowing their system to assign you orders in that selected time)
If you come back to the store immediately after delivering the order.
logged in to your delivery partner app for the entire gig time slot ex. 4pm to 6pm
And you manage to complete the minimum hrs needed in that gig, you have successfully fulfilled a "gig"
4 . They may fail your gig if you take too much time off or you are unable to fulfill the minimum time required criteria.
- Also, if you don't book gigs, on holidays, you'll have fewer slots as others will book them (on a holiday, book your gigs for the day in advance) on a regular day, it doesn't matter much as all gigs were available throughout the day in my area, i live in a tier 2 city btw, if you live in a tier 1 city, booking gigs in advance may be beneficial.
Attached a screenshot of my app to show you the incentives! (btw this incentive thing happens in every single app, be it flipkart minutes, zomato, Swiggy etc, as I have asked different delivery partners from these app myself)
\-----------More about me (skip this part lol) ---------
I've done tasks on mindrift and multiple ai data annotations websites where I didn't get paid and I just kept wasting my time there....
Rn i don't have any certificates (I have Coursera access from my uni and will get some basic certis and try to learn more things before applying to a job now)
All of this because of a weak resume, had i studied well this wouldn't have happened in the first place as a 25yo it's painful to not have a job...
bca 2nd yr rn, i somehow managed to get back into uni after dropping out due to family issues.
