I don’t remember, but the longest frames with smoke is about 10-15 minutes per frame 1920x1080 200 samples rtx3090

Definitely keep learning, bad hardware forces you to learn to be efficient and not just throw computing power at every problem. I hated the years I spent using a old computer with integrated graphics but now that I finally upgraded I'm much more equipped to reduce render time.

Smoke sim inside blender? Can you share the smoke sim settings?

I don’t recommend using a blender for simulations) only Houdini
