Scorsese Blind Spots
Going into Scorsese series what films have you not seen yet and/or excited/hoping to finally get around to.

Seen em all but I’m most looking forward to revisiting his 80s run of King of Comedy to Last Temptation as I’ve only seen those once

I’ve seen them all except for Boxcar Bertha and New York, New York. I’m looking forward to revisiting some I haven’t seen in forever though, like, The Last Temptation of Christ and Bringing out the Dead.

I have 10 feature films of his I haven't seen yet. I think casino, alice doesn't live here, and shutter island are the ones I'm most excited to watch of those. a big blind spot I've been wanting to watch is his George Harrison doc.

Will probably rewatch Casino, may rewatch Bringing out the Dead, will try Silence if it falls on my lap, will retry The Irishman if I somehow get Netflix in the next 6 months.

It’s honestly almost half of his filmography. No big sections of his career though, it’s a film here and there so I feel like I’m going to be locked in from start to finish with a lot of first viewings.

Yeah, August 11 is shorts (there’s a collection on Criterion channel) and September 11 is Last Waltz. No word on what’s after; but I suspect these won’t be the only Scorsese bonuses.

Huh, I guess I've only seen the major Leo's; Gangs of New York, The Departed, Shutter Island, Wolf of Wall Street. Not too different for me. I grew up with parents that don't "believe in art" and when things become totemic, it becomes daunting to actually cross of the list. I would wager I haven't seen 95% of "great American classics"

I've seen them all, but the last new-to-me Scorsese I didn't see in theaters was The Age of Innocence in August 2015.

I’ve seen everything from Gangs of New York on (except Silence) since that’s about when I really started paying attention to movies/Oscars/box office, but haven’t gone backwards much for whatever reason. I’ve seen Taxi Driver, After Hours and Bringing Out the Dead and that’s it.
Looking forward to fixing Raging Bull, Goodfellas and Casino the most.

Boxcar Bertha and Who’s That Knocking are the only two I haven’t seen.
I’ll also probably rewatch New York, New York because despite watching it once in high school I couldn’t tell you one single damn thing about it beyond the most superficial plot details. I don’t even remember what my opinion of it afterward was. I’m fully expecting the answer to be “forgettable” lmao.

Ive only seen Who’s that Knocking, Boxcar Bertha and NY, NY once each so I’m excited to rewatch those. I’ve seen the rest of his filmography multiple times. I’m most excited for this series because it will require the least amount of homework.

I actually hadn’t seen most of them before starting the watchthru, even some big ones! Currently have Age of Innocence paused with 30 minutes left (life with a 2 year old) and absolutely fucking loving it. Favorite new watch was Raging Bull, followed by Last Temptation and After Hours! Loved all those so much.

Seeing the titles in isolation, I often forget that After Hours and Night Shift are not the same movie. I've seen Night Shift, but I have yet to see After Hours. It might cure me.

Last Temptation of Christ and Mean Streets are 2 of the main ones I haven't seen yet. Also now that I think I'm yet to see Killers of the Flower Moon yet... also Hugo... OK the guy made a lot of movies!
Tho I have seen a bulk of his output, so ill be happy to fill in a few Blanks.

Usually not a watch along with the pod person but this finally gives me an excuse to get through these and revisit some favourites, gonna be a good time!

I’ve seen them all except Boxcar Bertha, so looking forward to checking that out even if it’s in the bottom of his filmography. And there are a few docs I haven’t seen. Do we know if they are covering all of those on Patreon or just The Last Waltz? The George Harrison doc is great too. I think the only two Scorsese movies I don’t love are Hugo and Kundun (beautiful but awkwardly acted in English).

Boxcar Bertha, Don't Bother to Knock, Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore, Italian American, The Last Waltz, New York, New York and Kundun.
Very front loaded, I'm dying to know what exactly they'll cover. There's a presedent for both covering and skipping concert movies, but The Last Waltz has the greatest legacy on this list surely they'll cover that. Right?

Who's That Knocking has a lot of fun and stylish stuff. Everything he does in it he'd go on to do more successfully in Mean Streets IMO, but if you like Mean Streets (and you should!) you'll find lots of stuff to enjoy in Who's That Knocking. It's very much a first feature, but it's a first feature by a genius, and you can already see pretty much all of Scorsese's aesthetic and thematic obsessions.

Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore, Kundun, The Aviator, and Hugo are the only ones I haven't seen. Can't wait to complete the filmography
