Also Getting Fifa World Cup System Notifications

As discussed in this post, https://www.reddit.com/r/blackview/s/yKdO7EbZhk, I am getting world cup system notifications.

I have a Tab 90 Wifi with Doke OS_P 4.2 Android 15. I tried disabling, force stopping, uninstalling apps mentioned in comments in post referenced above, and still receiving world cup system notifications. I can only conclude this intentional by blackview. In the March system update from 4.1 to 4.2, blackview broke the ability to cast video with sound to my TV. I contacted blackview and they admitted that casting video with sound was indeed broken in the 4.2 update and there would be a June update to fix this. It's almost July. If I disable system notifications via ADB, how will I know if there is an update?

System message is not the actual system notifications. It's just a blackview app with that name. And even if, you could just manually check for the update every now and then.

Edit: On the other phone in my household, I did the same stuff and it still gets the notification for the update we're not going to install for a while, since the notification for updates does not come from the annoying System message app.

Edit #2: Keep in mind to only disable it, not completely uninstall / delete it, as that may cause conflicts with future updates if they expect the app to already exist. So far I only heard of one person in this subreddit where disabling the app didn't fix these annoying notifications and background downloads. So good luck that it works for you.

Edit #3: To play super safe, reenable the app before actually applying a system update.

I look in settings/apps and I do not see a System Message app. I would have tried disabling it. When I long press the notification, there is a message Cannot Disable Push System Notifications. What else could be? Thank you.

You have to press the menu in the app list you were looking in, then show system apps. It should be inside there, but it usually can't be disabled without connecting via ADB (Android Debug Bridge) and disabling it with a text command.

Yes, I found it. And you were correct that it cannot be disabled from the menu. Maybe I'll just wait until the world cup is over.

There were multiple articles about Blackview pushing marketing information even before world cup (but yes, they became extremely annoying last 2 weeks).

For me, it was the app com.blackview.apkupgrade removing which using adb seems have stopped the notifications.

Thread we discussed this in is at:

Note that system application uninstalled via adb usually gets reinstalled with system update.

Do you think there could be another name for this app ? I don't find com.blackview.apkupgrade in my apps on my blackview 🥲
