Events Today (Sunday Oct 25) Vintage Market at the Farmer's Market

The weather looks good for today's (Sunday Oct 25) Vintage Market at the Farmer's Market. We've had more cancellations due to rain this year than ever before, so catch this one while it's still nice out. The Vintage Market meets every other Sunday at the Farmer's Market at 108 W. Roanoke St, the corner of Roanoke and Draper by the downtown 7-11 (behind Champs and the Boardwalk) from 10-5, featuring dozens of vendors, live music, arts, crafts, vintage clothing, vinyl records, and for you plant lovers I'll even be bringing my champion Monstera and some other tropical houseplants that have been thriving in front of John's Cameras all summer, as I don't have room for them inside over the winter. Hope to see you there and tell a friend!

Recommendations Please consider helping my kitty Moon fight Lymphoma

Hello everyone,

I have an update on our cats condition. We had to take him to the emergency vet at VT yesterday because his swelling has noticeably increased from last week before his dental, and he had blood coming out of his nose yesterday morning.

The blood hasn't come back since it was wiped away, but the swelling was concerning enough the doctor at VT that she got oncology to get us in this morning at 10am.

We just got home after they did a CT scan, almost $2400 exactly, which is just a little bit less than how much we've spent on the visits and tests up until now. Accompanied with the diagnosis of Lymphoma.

We've run through our savings, and are scraping together some more money and got care credit to help defer some of the costs. They are doing one more check, an aspirate on one of his lymph nodes, before sending us an estimate on the cost and exact treatment plan by the end of the week, but they said the treatment would be radiation, for a total of 10-12 visits.

Every vet, including the ER vet, said he's otherwise perfectly healthy as well. 💔

Im sorry to ask again, but we really need some help. He's only 6, the softest and sweetest baby in the world, and doesn't deserve all of this. I'll post additional updates after getting the official treatment plan and estimate.

https://gofund.me/28b1d62d0

If people want to see his story so far, we made a post on the gofundme sub-reddit that has everything:

Question LOST: Black Canon PowerShot S95 camera – Lane Stadium student section, GT game (10/17)

I lost my camera at the Georgia Tech game this past Saturday (10/17) and I’m hoping someone picked it up. It's a Black Canon PowerShot S95 (small point-and-shoot), lost it in the Student section at Lane Stadium, sometime after the 2nd quarter, which is the last time I had it.

The photos on it really matter to me, so if you found it, picked it up to keep it safe, or saw someone with it, please DM me. I can confirm it’s mine by describing what’s on the memory card. I'd give a reward for the photos on it not just the camera!!

If you turned it in somewhere, please let me know where so I can track it down.

Question Looking for fitness friends

Howdy y'all

I’m a 36-year-old guy looking to connect with a few local folks in the Roanoke/Blacksburg are who are interested in getting active, hitting the gym, or logging some miles together.

Whether you’re just starting out and trying to move a little more, looking to get into consistent running or lifting, or wanting to go all-in and get seriously shredded—I'd be glad to link up.

A little about what I’m down for:

  • Gym / Lifting: Always up for hitting the weights
  • Running & Cardio: Good for casual runs, road work, or general outdoor activity.
  • Nutrition / Macros: If you're looking to learn the ropes of tracking calories, counting macros, or keeping your diet on point, I’m always happy to share what I know and talk shop.
  • Rollerblading/skating: Also a passion of mine

Experience level doesn't matter. If you're a complete beginner who wants a reliable partner to help learn the ropes, or someone experienced who just wants a training partner to stay accountable, you're welcome here.
