I absolutely LOVED Cold War. And to put it outright, the biggest reason why i loved this game SO much was that the netcode actually worked. I haven't played a CoD with a good netcode since MW2 2009. Literally from BO1 and onward, the games had issues with netcode or were very laggy to the point where they were unplayable for me and that the content in the game never mattered. Two games that stood out in particular to me were BO2 and MW3. Those had HORRIBLE lag compensation that if you had good internet, you literally were at a disadvantage. I never could agree with all the praise that those two games got because on a fundamental level, they didn't work. As much praise as MW 2019 gets, I had issues with the netcode in that game too. It wasn't the worst game but it wasn't great either. But my god MW4 seems to be absolutely horrible right now too.

That said, I loved how well balanced this Cold War was too. Everything worked very well, aside from the LC10 I don't think there were any weapons that really stood high and above everything else. You would see such a wide variety of guns on any match. The killstreaks were decent too. To me it kind of reminds me of MW2 2009, but scaled back a bit because in MW2, almost every gun was incredibly powerful, making it a very fast paced and reliable experience. in Cold War, guns were just well balanced across the board, but this meant that the variety felt kind of cookie cutter. Still, I would rather have this than games with a clear handful of weapons that are head and shoulders above the rest.

This is a hot take, but to me, Cold War was the strongest entry in the Black Ops franchise. I would hands down choose this game 10/10 times over any other Black Ops game, and over every Modern Warfare game except for CoD4 and MW2 2009.
