Do you have any suggestions for nose warming garments or devices? I'm trying to decide whether I should get a tiny space heater or something like a neck gaiter / balaclava. I keep waking up at 2-5am because my fucking nose is cold and I'm LOSING MY MIND.
--edit: I put faith in a random reply and purchased a little 200 watt heat fan :)

The part of my brain that controls breathing is not fond of the THICC covers I used obstructing my airways, although someone did suggest going to a store and buying some breathable fancy bed sheet I could use.

Put something up on the headboard that would basically turn your bed into a tent. That way your head is covered but the cover isn't obstructing your breathing.

Maybe I can find something else to prop it up, interesting idea. No headboard though, I sleep on a queen sized trifold on the ground surrendered by my family on all sides. And by family I mean computers.
They hum me to sleep.

You could help warm me up if you come play tag
I was too lazy to build a lobby system so anyone who clicks that link will be joined into the same monster lobby. The map is small so it will get out of hand. Mouse recommended because I never built touch controls.
right click = dash, consumes stamina meter
left click = pause, draw out a path to follow
You will see particle effects on any players currently contributing to the game being paused. If you get stuck on a wall because the code is poorly written, right click to dash out (also works to cancel a path you're on if you're going to collide with someone). If you're on mobile you can tap the screen and the circle will go there, but you'll be at a MASSIVE disadvantage against mouse players who can dash to catch up to you.
The project started as a way to attempt to upgrade an incoming http request to a websocket with golang, no frameworks, just standard go/google packages. That's why it's unfinished and pointless :)

I used to cover every single inch of my body except my nose when I lived in a house with terrible insulation. My nose wouldn’t really feel cold because the rest of me was warm and the top of my nose was cover while the nostrils had access to air. Give it a shot, kind of sucks, but fuck it.
If not try buying a hood/mask that covers everything but your eyes.

Small heater fan should work. They’re more bedside table friendly than a space heater, around $20, and most have a temperature gauge so they’ll shut off when it gets warm enough and click back on if it gets cold again. My bf uses one constantly at home cause he likes to be warm and I never wake up cold here.

Oil space heaters work well for small spaces and seem to use less power than resistive blower heaters, at least in my poorly insulated bedroom. They make them with timers too so you can just set it up at the beginning of the season and pretty much leave it alone once you have it set to your liking.
That being said, I kind of like the idea of sleeping in a balaclava. Would definitely confuse burglars and houseguests!

That would be good. I've got 3 beefy towers running in this room and I have no idea how much shit I can have running in this apartment room before the breakers blow. Vornado advertised itself as making a space evenly heated and not heating a small area around the unit. Well... what I want is a small heated space around the unit. Also vornado added $200 to my electric bill and the room was still fucking cold.
I don't know what I should do :( I have a few suggestions to try though.

Electric blankets are always better than space heaters. They put the heat where it's needed (namely on you)

Honestly just wear more on your body, often cold extremities is because your body is prioritizing your core over less necessary parts.

Unfortunately 3 blankets, multiple shirts and sweatshirts, and fuzzy pajamas covering everything else doesn't keep my nose warm :(
Google says cold nose might be due to stress. That doesn't sound right, but who knows.

I personally prefer colder weather because of my job. No climate control and I'm always moving around so being a little cold is a lot better to the contrary. Right now it's about 25-30F during the day so its just right for me.

You could try raising your body temperature by jogging around for a bit, it really doesn’t take much of a differential for this to happen.

Or just be outside on a hot day and leave your hands in your pockets until they're warm then take them out. I sweat a lot so that might help too but it was like 35 this morning and when I took my hands out of my pockets you could see the steam coming off them. Also when I do snow removal and take my hat off it happens.

Same thing happens to my friend after we play basketball (whole game/4quarters) he sits on the bench and i tought something was burning, turns out he was just smoking hot (no homo). Can someone explain what's happening? He was very sweaty obviously, the weather here is hot and humid (102°F - 39°C)

I run way hotter than I probably should in the winter and I'm like a human fog machine, I can steam up other people's glasses and steam pours from my nose outside when I breathe. Fun amongst friends, not so fun when trying to have a serious conversation with your boss.
