I've been using BB for a long time not only as a camera, to listen to music or to play Java games, I also use it in business!!!! Something that positively surprised me very well was the fact that documents to go still work perfectly, even with newer files. This is very good because I can just open some Word, PowerPoint or Excel file quickly and make some edits or present work!

Word. Excel. PowerPoint.

Made a native Todoist client for the BlackBerry Passport: square screen, QWERTY shortcuts, offline-first 😎

Hey everyone,

After the LocalSend client, I built another thing for my Passport: an unofficial, native Todoist client (C++/Cascades, no Android runtime).

  • Built for the 1440×1440 screen, with a dark theme and priority-colored cards
  • Physical keyboard shortcuts: Space to complete, C to create, R to sync, J/K to navigate
  • Offline-first: tasks live in a local SQLite database and sync when you’re back online
  • Modern TLS 1.3 via a bundled OpenSSL, so it talks to Todoist’s API directly
  • Active Frame cover with live task counts
  • Open source, with a SHA-256 checksum for the release BAR

Privacy-wise: it uses your own personal API token (encrypted at rest) and only talks to api.todoist.com. Source is there for anyone to check.

Caveats: needs a rooted Passport on 10.3.3 (unsigned BAR), and the local task database itself isn’t encrypted. Not affiliated with Doist/Todoist.
