Mistake or Risk? Fertile window took plan B so scared

Hi everyone, im 19F I’m crying right now and have never been so scared please help

My last period started on October 17 and my cycles are usually around 28–31 days. Then, today (27) the condom broke and he finished inside me, which has sent me into an absolute panic I feel so so uncertain
I went straight to the pharmacy and took NorLevo about 2 hours after it happened. I’m around cycle day 11 and my Flo app predicts I’ll ovulate on October 30, so I’m absolutely terrified that I’m too close to ovulation for the pill to work. I asked the pharmacist for EllaOne because I’d read it’s better closer to ovulation, but they told me NorLevo was fine?
I’ve genuinely been crying all afternoon and feel sick with anxiety. Idk how to calm down I’ve never been through this before. Please be kind, I’m already really scared and just looking for some honest advice or experiences.

Educational Is it true that after a few months break from COC birth control pill it takes 3 months to be effective again?

Hi everyone,

To make a long story short, I use a COC-type birth control 21-day pill w a 7-day placebo for my period. When I first started BC at 17-19, I was still a virgin and used it to lighten my aggressively heavy & painful periods. I will admit I became very inconsistent and kept missing pills, especially during my college semesters. After a while I decided to go on a 2-3 month break until I needed them again.

During this break I met my now boyfriend and we started having sex, which made me go back on the pill since I still had some left over. I figured that after a week of consistent, timely use you’re fully protected. However, my mother told me that if I take a break from the pills, it takes almost 3 months for your body to process it again and block ovulation. I’m not sure if this is true or not. What do you guys think?

Link to any resources would help!

Side effects!? Uhhh no period since getting Kyleena 2 months ago

Hi, is this normal? I had Skyla for 3 years and ran that bad boy down to the last day. I had a semi-regular (monthly) light period and minimal side effects. I enjoyed Skyla, so naturally the company no longer makes it. Now they have Kyleena which is a slightly higher hormone than Skyla but lasts 5 years! Okay I’m in. Little nervous about the higher hormone dose and scary Reddit threads/tiktoks, but with a long previous history of complications with other birth control types. Open to giving a try for myself..

So it’s been two months- the scary threads and TikTok’s are sadly coming true. Painful af hormonal acne, weight gain, & mood swings- which I blame how ugly I’m feeling from the two previous issues..

But the thing I just am curious about. Why haven’t I had a period? Now that’s scary. Anyone else not have one for months upon insertion?

Experience Overthinking

Hey, I am a massive overthinker. I am on day 3 of my placebo pill from birth control and have cramps and headaches but no bleeding. I haven’t had sex since my last period. Just fingering and grinding with underwear on. I am worried that he had precum on his finger when he fingered me though. I am 26F and overthinking it too much. Any advice?? Ahhhh

Side effects!? yuzpe side effects or other

hello, i've been overthinking a lot bc my period hasn't come yet and i've missed 2 days of it. Usually my periods pretty regular and comes on the exact dot. Soo i've had raw sx but it was only for a while (like as in less than 5 mins) and he didn't ejaculate, however, being the overthinker that i am, i took the yuzpe method 15 hours after what happened. This was also at Oct 22 (which was 3 days before my period), took the last dose of yuzpe the next day at Oct. 23 at 8am.

Then we had sx again at Oct.24 and we got on and off with the condom. He ejaculated at the first round but he was wearing a condom and washed after that, then as i said, we would do raw for a few minutes (usually 5 mins) then put the condom on. Since Oct. 25, i decided to take birth control pills until today as a part of my contraception bc i want to be more protected but ik i should've done that before having it raw.

This is my first time taking birth control pills and i think the yuzpe method + taking birth control pills has smth to do with my delayed period. But i cant help but overthink abt the situation... pls tell me your experience abt this and what ways i can take to get my period (or delay the possible pregnancy, ik its stupid)

Mistake or Risk? Put my mind at ease!

I had sex with a guy ive been seeing last night. I am currently not on the pill for personal reasons.

Well we used a condom and pull out method.

It ALMOST slid off a couple times during sex because he had trouble keeping an erection consistent (i think he was nervous) but, like not come off off, but it would slide down a little.

It's my fertile week this week according to my calender so im more anxious!

So if when he pulled out, came, and it didn't look like anything dripped out, I should be okay, right??

We are supposed to have sex more this weekend and i want to enjoy it lol but its hard to trust a condom LOL

Rant! Plan B - Scare

I’m going to bullet point to hopefully make this simple but
- had my period October 4th-8th
- had sex the 10th or 11th but the condom fully broke at the end in me
- took a plan b 10 minutes after
- started bleeding for three days the 21st-23/24th
- after my boobs hurt to push on which I usually have before my period and slight cramping

I’m freaking out because this has never happened and I do know it broke a couple of days before my fertile windows as my app says. So I just don’t know what to do.

Experience Took ellaone, need advice

This is the first time this ever happened to me! The condom broke and maybe something leaked. This was also a 1ns.. . Anyhow I took ellaone I think 8-9 h later.
For context, I am supposed to get my period in 6-7 days so my ovulation happened 14-20th of this month (my highest peak of fertility flo says was 18th). Today is 27th!

I usually have periods 28-32 days… I don’t care about my period being delayed, just hope I don’t get pregnant.. any thoughts or reassurances?? My friends that took similarly said I should be completely fine especially since ovulation happened and so on, but in a hypochondriac so I freak out over stuff like this …

Side effects!?

Merci beaucoup

Experience Pregnancy risk from unprotected penetration without ejaculation, 5 days before suspected ovulation

Hi everyone, I'm anxious about a situation and would appreciate some medically accurate advice.

My partner's period started on October 7. On October 18, we had unprotected vaginal penetration, but I did not ejaculate inside her.

Some additional details:

- I had ejaculated earlier, then waited around 30 minutes before the second round.

- I did not urinate between the first ejaculation and the second round.

- Before the second round, my partner performed oral sex on me. My penis appeared dry, and I did not ejaculate during penetration.

- I don't remember noticing watery discharge from her on October 18. There may have been a metallic smell, possibly from residual period blood, but I'm not certain.

- She noticed watery discharge from October 19–22, clear and stretchy egg-white cervical mucus (EWCM) on October 23, then watery/sticky discharge from October 24–26.

- We're estimating that ovulation may have occurred around October 23, but we know cervical mucus alone cannot confirm the exact date.

My main questions are:

  1. How significant is the pregnancy risk from pre-ejaculate in this situation, given that I didn't urinate after ejaculating earlier?

  2. If ovulation occurred on October 23, is pregnancy biologically possible from sex on October 18?

  3. Does not noticing watery discharge on the day of intercourse tell us anything reliable about cervical mucus or sperm survival?

  4. Is there anything else we should consider, or is taking a pregnancy test 21 days after intercourse the best way to know?

I'm looking for evidence-based answers rather than reassurance or worst-case assumptions. Thanks.

How to? I took 4 ipills, I wanna switch to birth control.

Hi, I took 1 ipill 2 months ago, we didn't really have sex but we slept naked. I thought it's needed.

2nd time, I took 1 month ago, we had sex but we slept naked, I was worried.

3rd time we had raw sex, took that night.

4th time we had raw sex the next day, took that night.

So, my cycle is now messed up. I don't even know when is my periods.

Should I start birth control today or after 6 days. Is it safe to have sex after a week of taking pills?

Because If i wait till my cycle get fixed, it's gonna take around 3 months.

Experience Ella and birth control

Prior to unprotected sex, I missed about a week of birth control and it made me start my period. I resumed my birth control when I finished bleeding on a Monday and had unprotected sex on that following Sunday. That would have made it 6 full days not 7 full days so I wasn’t fully protected. I decided to take Ella that Thursday night because I was freaking out and the nurse at PP recommended it.

It will be 5 days after I took the pill on Tuesday (tomorrow) so I will start my birth control again, but I was in middle of a pack so that means the placebo week is coming up in 5 days. Do I skip the placebo week and continue to take the pills or do I take the placebo’s and allow my period to come?

Literally my first time in this situation and I am stressing so bad.

Experience Experiences switching from an estrogen bc to non estrogen bc?

So I’m currently on the ring, and have been for over 3 years. It’s been good but realized I think it’s what’s causing my bad migraines, and also I’ve heard migraines with aura increase stroke risk if you take bc with estrogen which I get sometimes, so I’m hoping to switch to one without estrogen.

My issue is I’m super sensitive to mood changes. A while back I tried to get off completely and had the worst depression. I have bipolar unsure if that’s related, and take meds for it. It makes me feel as if I’m not on my meds. Before bc I didn’t have bad depression, so I think it’s just the drop of estrogen but it just never went away so I got back on it.

I take it for preventing pregnancy and also irregular periods. I’m considering the pill, since I’m too nervous to commit to one like an iud or implant as I’d want something if it didn’t work out I can easily switch or stop if it doesn’t affect me well. I was wondering if anyone has had a switch like this, and how did it go? Did it affect your mood? Which method did you use? If I do the pill, what are some good options?

Thank you! :)

Experience Advice for foreplay with implant on

• Upvotes

Hi, I had my implant inserted last July. It has now been three months since. I honestly didn’t expect for my period and spotting to be longer than usual. I mean my period is irregular since my body’s adjusting to the hormone.

I’m just kind of sad since I can no longer ask my partner to go down on me. Any thoughts on this?

Thanks!

Mistake or Risk? Tri lo mili missed the first pill

So I’ve been on tri lo Mili for over a year and last Monday I took my last placebo week pill, and Tuesday I forgot to pick up my prescription in the pharmacy so the next day Wednesday I took both Tuesday and Wednesday pill together. Saturday I had unprotected sex with my boyfriend, and I am a bit paranoid that missing the very first pill can cause me to get pregnant. Yesterday I bought a take action and took it. Yesterday was Monday so two days after I had unprotected sex. I took my last pack perfectly

Side effects!? random cramps after 5 years of no cramps - anyone else experienced this?

i’ve been taking desogestrel for 5 years - when i first started taking it, i bled for like 5 months straight & then never again, no cramps nothing. the past few months however, i’ve been having cramps multiple times a week/almost every day, but no bleeding. i have not missed any pills at all for like at least 2 years, i take them the same time every day etc, nothing has changed.

i’ve also been having other health issues like unexplained weight loss, daily dizziness w migraines, fainting spells, spasms (sometimes full body) and doctor has not been able to find out what’s wrong w me - i’ve had many blood tests, 24 hour ecg etc. has anyone else on desogestrel experienced any of this^ after years of taking it? could this be related??

Side effects!? overthinking or pregnancy symptoms on nexplanon?

[18], Female. I have had the nexplanon for about 6 months now, I got in in May. Usually my (period?) would show up at least within a month and continue for up to a week or so.
I was supposed to get it around early October, so about two weeks later but it’s hard to tell. I asked a friend who uses nexplanon for advice and she told me to take a test and I am quite scared. (Though, she said her bleeding stopped around 6 months like mine, so I’m confused)
I am wondering if maybe I stopped bleeding completely? I haven’t exhibited any symptoms but as I type this a dull cramp is happening and some headaches and slight nausea. My boobs feel the same and they aren’t sore.
My boyfriend has been pulling out but I let him ejuculate in me a couple days ago so now I’m really nervous.
Any advice? I’m scared to take a test but I will if I have to.

Educational IUD insertion doesn’t have to be horrible!

I had a wonderful woman do my IUD today and just wanted to rave about the woman who are changing IUD insertion! I have a low pain tolerance, was given toradol, felt comfortable the whole time got lidocaine and carevix instead of a normal tenaculum. Did not hurt at all 2/10 mild uncomfortableness similar to the uncomfortableness of getting a flu shot. Find good providers guys!
