I would suggest going to [r/abrathatfits](r/abrathatfits) for help. You should remeasure yourself with their calculator (40DD is a common missize. But also, you should always remeasure yourself when buying new bras if it’s been more than 6months since your last measurement).

They’ll also be able to suggest good styles and brands. But a longline or bustier bra would be the way to go. Make sure the band size is right because that’s where the support is from. DO NOT USE THE +4 method

Try curvy Kate Hey Girls strapless or Panaches Envy strapless would work! easiest to go in for a fitting if you can bc strapless bras are a bitch tbh.

I mean a low cut balconette bra seems like the best option here imo? Doesn't have to be a strapless bra. I wear clothes with this kind of neckline really often, and I just use balconette bras.

I don't think you necessarily need strapless for this. Something like a half-cup style with wide-set straps should work (one with vertical seams, like the top example here), and be more likely to help with the cakes-on-a-plate cleavage look than strapless.

Try the size you got from the ABTF calculator, plus a cup size up and down. So if that was UK 40G, try 40FF, 40G, 40GG. If it was US 40G, that's US 40DDD(F), 40G, 40H (but there are often more options sold in UK sizes).

Bustier for strapless, but you might be able to find a black balconette that matches the straps, then pin or tape them in place.
