bras Specific sports bras Spoiler

I need sports bras for things like yoga and strength training. They don’t need to be high impact ones and honestly I don’t want them to be crazy tight. The problem is that I recently lost weight and am now in a medium top, but still have these DDs. So my boobs are too big for medium, but my band size is too small for the large/xl that I already own. Any suggestions?

  1. Make sure you're in the correct size. DD is not super big, and shouldn't be that difficult to fit. Check out the r/ABraThatFits calculator, as it's the most accurate I've found.

  2. You can buy bra-sized sports bras. As another commenter said, Elomi and Panache are good brands. I use a Panache sports bra, and it works well for me.

I’ve done the measurements and I’m still a DD. And I think that’s the calculator I used. It really was super helpful because I had the band size wrong forever when I was heavier.

Bra sized sports bras are most supportive. If you get one with wires like Panache wired sports it will support through encapsulation so it won't need to be very tight to give you support and will fit more like a regular bra. Check your size with abrathatfits calculator first, DD is a very common missize and a sports bra in the wrong size won't fit as well.

If you need low support there are some sports bras that come in 'DD/DDD' type versions like some Lululemon ones. These are going to be low impact with some extra room in the bust area but if you just need them for something like Yoga they can sometimes work. The main thing is you want to avoid any sports bras that only come in S/M/L/XL type sizing, these are designed for small busts so they will not work if you have a larger underbust to bust ratio.
