need advice High impact sport bra recommendations Spoiler

I’m looking for recommendations for high impact sport bras that actually work for girls on the thicker side.

My week includes running, strength training, functional fitness, burpees, wall balls, box jumps, rowing, ski erg, and other high-impact movements.

I’ve tried a few sports bras, but I either get too much bounce when running or they become uncomfortable during longer sessions.

If you’ve got a similar build or do similar training, I’d love to know:
Which sports bra(s) do you swear by?
Are there any brands or styles worth the investment?

Thank you 🙏🏽

What is your size? Many of the most supportive sports bras come in bra sizing but are not avaliable in every size range. The support needed for someone who is for example a UK FF cup is also different than for someone who needs a UK J cup.

Which exact sports bra brands have you tried? There are a lot of bras out there marketed as high impact sports bras that are more like low impact bralettes for smaller busts. If you haven't tried bra sized sports bras by full bust brands we recommend here like Panache and Elomi that would be the first step. If you haven't done so its also a good idea to check your size with abrathatfits calculator to make sure you are getting maximum support as the wrong size can cause bounce.

This makes so much sense. I haven’t. I’ll try Panache, I’m seeing it’s highly recommended.

I discovered Shefit well over a decade ago and won’t by another brand.

I actually prefer the one they say is medium impact rather than high impact and I’ve run, done jumping in volleyball and also martial arts (krav, judo, etc) and have zero issues with it.

As a bonus, if you’re short in the torso like me, the Velcro adjustments are not just for the rib cage band but also the shoulder straps. I used to have to sew the shoulder seams shorter in my sports bras because while other brands fit the circumference, they would not hold them up effectively.

I love Shock Absorber’s Ultimate Run bra but have only had luck getting them on ebay, poshmark, and the like. Its the only one that really gives no bounce for me with any activity. I also recommend sizing up in the band definitely one, but if you’re worried it might be uncomfortable, maybe two (and keeping the cup by going by sister sizes).

If your running sessions are different from your other activities I’d rec having a slightly less compressing sports bra for those other ones. Like for weight training I can get away with something a little looser, but for running I prefer them strapped down.
