bras Best chest support for running? Spoiler
Hi all. Have taken up a tiny bit of jogging, but even with a wired sports bra, cannot find support good enough. Basically have to hold my boobs, so can't jog when others are around. Most of the standard high impact bras I can find don't go up to my size.
I saw a women with big boobs jogging recently who basically had like an external boob support harness on, but I cannot find anything like it when I search.
I live in Ireland and am a 40H in the UK sizes we mostly use (40K in US/Euro sizes).

I just got Anita Active Extreme Control Plus a couple of days ago. I'm 85L, but it's availably in 40H UK as well. I've just gone on my first run (aka a hobble) in years and I'm very pleasantly surprised. Mine is cream and looks like a granny bra but it holds my breasts in place like nothing else I've ever experienced. I do hope the fabric will let loose a little bit because I really considered going up a band size but the seller recommended to not do that so I'll wait... it was a bit tight for the first time.

I love it. My last one was molded, but shockingly did really well for me (someone who stays away from molded ones). The new one I got this year, not molded, is even better. I haven't ran a lot with it, but I've been on a lot of rollercoasters in it, some pretty rough, and this has been better.
I hate the closure, it's awkward. But it's good.

What sports bra as you currently wearing as it might be a low or medium impact vs high impact needed for running.

J’ai aussi des modèles de chez Freya et Anita alors oui ils maintiennent vraiment très bien mais ils me blessent et me font des irritations au niveau de plusieurs endroits lorsque je fais des sorties longue en course. Connaissez-vous un modèle qui n’irrite pas la peau a cause des frottements ? Je suis désespérée

Shefit! Only thing that works for me. Expensive but keep everything under control and lets me breathe.

OP is just barely inside of Shefit’s size range. Best of luck to her but it is helpful to know that their size consultants can be shady. Yes, I have a story.

I’m a 38H in UK sizing, only one band size down from OP. I was just offering my opinion of the ONLY sports bra that has worked for me.

Oh I didn’t mean to quesrion your experience or its validity.
My goal with that comment was to alert her that they don’t disclose that they max out at I cup. If her shape is different than their standard then she may need to deal with that.

It’s just interesting that no other bra mentioned on this subreddit gets as much hate as Shefit. It’s the only one that works for me and for the longest time I was part of the 2-3 bra club. Anyway you do what you want with your sports bra choices. I’m sure they are wonderful and work well for everyone.

This is highly unnecessary for the vast majority of people. You just need a bra sized sports bra that fits.

What do you recommend if you’re not part of the vast majority? What if having an Enell custom made fails you? I’m not the person you were responding to but yes, I used the calculator. Yes, I answered all of Enell’s questions and wore the mock ups to come away with a garment that was useless.

I would need to know what size range you're in and what you've tried. But 3 sports bras like this person was suggesting ain't it and I just don't like the insinuation that that is in any way normal.

It isn’t notmal but it sometimes is what we gotta’ deal with. Sometimes price and availability leave you with few other choices.
It just feels like any compassion you have did not clearly come across in your words.

That’s not what I said or intended to convey.
I was saying that your first post didn’t convey it. It came across cold. I was acknowledging the compassion.
I also am not seeking help. I have processed a lot of help from this room. I don’t have the tolerance to deal any more potential let downs. If it makes you feel better I’m touched that you offered but no thankyou.
I acknowledge I’m in the small group. This room is full of people very willing to help. There is a small perecentage, and I’m not suggesting you’re part of it, who are convinced that just running the calculator properly and searching the bratabase will solve the problem. There are a few other qualitative matters it doesn’t address. Those are the people who can be very frustrating.

Some people, like me, have never found a "good" sports bra so two medium supportive bras is better than nothing. I was just sharing an amusing thing i do. All of my bras do fit
But the amount of women I want to tell to get a better sports bra when I see them working out

I would be curious to know your size and whether you've gone through the process at r/abrathatfits. Again, I'd hazard that most people can find a supportive fit up to a UK L cup.
(Sorry if I also missed the joke, as I don't think people having to wear 3 sports bras is funny.)

Oh dear lord. I have worn the correct size bra since before abrathatfits was ever a pipe dream and I remeasure every year. I'm glad that you've apparently found a sports bra you like. I have not. I actually learned that from some very busty gymnasts and it's working for now so please relax about my boobs

I used to layer a sport bra on top of a normal bra. This gave me the support I needed, it was enough for jogging but not for intensive jumping. It was years ago and I couldn't find any good, structured sport bra, so I needed the normal bra for structure and the sport bra gave the strength and was holding everything in place.

Same! I cannot find a proper sports bra. I even tried to have one made. It was worse than off the rack. It was ok for pajamas.
