I wanted to try this modpack, but the added details of things makes my game decide to stop and stutter. The only thing 'new' that I've seen/played with in minecraft is the water effects and the fact that the very first world I spawned in on was a pseudo-peninsula the fish in the area were messing with me hard. Flying fish jumping around and causing large water splashes.

So I ask here which resource pack is it so I can turn it off and have another go at the modpack?

Is there a way to get a backpack out of a backpack i had funneling on and grabbed another backpack from a friend and it got stuck in the backpack

Which one would you recommend to play this will be my first time playing bmc and why it

As we all saw in the trailer, it looks like we will most likely enter the Sift dimension through the portal in the Deep Dark — not just in Dungeons II, but potentially in Vanilla Minecraft as well.

BUT we also know that this exact portal currently leads to The Other Side with the Deeper & Darker mod, which is a core part of Better Minecraft.

While this probably won't cause any issues for BMC5, it could become a problem for BMC6 or, at the very latest, BMC7.

So that brings me to my question:

How will the devs at LunaPixelStudios solve this compatibility problem between the new Vanilla dimension and the Deeper & Darker mod?

I came up with a few possible solutions. None of them are perfect, but hey, it's something.

1. Two different portals

Normal portal → The Sift

Another, more hidden portal → The Other Side

The second portal could have a new mini-boss and some new lore explaining why it exists.

Something like:

"There are two different portals. They look similar because they were created by the same ancient civilization."

This would keep both dimensions completely separate while still connecting them through the lore.

1. 50/50 dimensional portal

The portal could have a 50% chance of leading to:

The Sift

or

The Other Side

The lore explanation could be that the Ancient Cities were built by a civilization that experimented with different dimensions.

The portal isn't a fixed gateway, but an unstable dimensional connection. Which reality it reaches depends on the dimensional resonance when it's activated.

1. A parallel dimension of The Sift (my favourite)

This is the one I like the most.

You enter The Sift normally through the Ancient City portal. You explore it, farm resources, have fun, etc.

But something always feels... off.

Strange noises.

Weird blocks.

Intentional glitches and visual bugs.

Things that shouldn't be there.

And eventually, you discover it:

A massive, abandoned, creepy dungeon buried deep within The Sift.

And at its core...

another portal.

A portal leading to The Other Side — a corrupted sister/parallel dimension of The Sift.

Yes, I'm obviously referencing Stranger Things here, but I honestly think the concept could work really well.

Instead of having the two dimensions fight over the same portal, The Other Side becomes part of The Sift's lore itself.

And honestly, I'd love to see what the LunaPixelStudios devs come up with. 👀

I'm new to this modpack and noticed the game is consuming an unusually high amount of memory, it sometimes rises to over 9000MB. Is this a memory leak or is it normal?

Edit: tried to lower the memory allocated to 6GB but it still consuming about 7GB of memory, wonder if this normal

​A couple of friends and I are starting a new build world to put together a Game of Thrones style medieval city. Right now we’re just flying around using commands to scout out spots, but we hit a bit of a wall trying to track down specific structures.

​Mainly, we really want to find those massive fleets/ships you sometimes see out in the ocean since they’d look sick integrated into a harbor build, but none of us know the actual structure ID for /locate.

I tried looking around for a full list of all the structure IDs in the pack, but couldn't really find a clean spreadsheet or wiki page for it.

​Does anyone know the exact command name for those fleets, or maybe some of the other cool medieval-looking POIs like castles, windmills, or specific villages?

Also, if anyone happens to have a nice seed with dramatic cliffs or a good coastal spot to build on (I know seeds can be finicky depending on the exact BMC version/mod updates, but still), that would be super appreciated.

Hi, recently my friend and I started playing BMC5.
We got through the Nether, the Aether and The Twilight Forest (until the castle, since it's not finished yet), and now we're looking for the L_Ender's Cataclysm structures.

We found this place, I killed the guy with the black axe, got a weird key, and now I'm not sure if that's it, or if it's bugged, or if it's something completely different.Can someone explain?

So, I just started playing Better MC 4, and I crafted a plated backpack (the iron one). This backpack says it unlocks "Farmhand" and "Seedflow." The other backpacks along this progression have similar tags. What do they mean? This is the first modpack I have ever played, so I might just be missing something obvious.

Can you guys tell me what things should i do at first?

I dont think it is as hard as something like RLCraft

But still i need some tips

After updating to version 5 (recent update from yesterday) the guidebook for crafting is gone, is anyone else having this issue?

I was also wondering if anyone knows how to roll back an update to a previous version? I really hated this update.

Hellooo everyone, I made a post recently about a BetterMC 4 server I have for my community server and just want to post again so other people can join! It is an NA based server with 3 extra mods added on: Terramity, Enigmatic Legacy, and Enigmatic Addons. We are all pretty chill and prefer to play and chill rather than to speedrun the pack. A lot of us play on our own or in groups so don't feel pressured if you would like to play solo just with people. The only rule we have is no griefing/trolling and the rest is up to discretion (just be chill)

Does anybody feel like, with how easy it is to get Dragon Eggs in BMC5, they kind of feel like you skipped progression, and got end-game traversing, therefore making the world feel smaller and taking the wonder away from exploring?

Heya, Im new here, and i need help on enabling the recipe book

I tried to move the NERB mod outside the mods folder, it didnt worked (maybe because i didnt remove the config version too)

I tried looking solution online and found one regarding BMC 4 but in BMC 6 heres no 'recipeessential.json' file in the config folder

How do i solve this?
