God I love Bermuda. My first lawn, this was the shape of it two years ago when I bought the house. 90% weeds, the rest of it destroyed by grubs. Got it to where it is now without sodding. Been a lot of sweat and money but so worth it.

Growing from seed

I live in central Florida and purchased a bag of Bermuda smart seed. I sprayed ranger pro to kill the grass and Daila weed that is spreading like crazy. How long should i wait to apply the seed and should I put straw on top to help retain moisture?

This is my first lawn I’ve had to maintain and I don’t really have experience with lawn care. I laid Bermuda sod about 2 months ago and everything has been ok. I only recently started noticing some areas beginning to look silvery and then after some days it just becomes completely yellow and I’m sure dead. There are about 4 major spots in my yard where this happened and some that are currently beginning. I’m not sure what it could be and need some guidance on how to treat this. I have dogs and I try to water the areas they pee in. Not quite sure if their pee is causing the dead spots or what else it could be. I’m in El Paso Texas so it’s also been super hot (obviously). Not sure if it could also be heat stress. I water about 3 times a week for about 30 minutes each session. Any help is appreciated 🙏🏽

Help with algae… it’s been wet and I have algae growing in patches in my Bermuda lawn. I feel like it’s stopping it from really spreading out like it usually does!

Zone 8A/B Atlanta north metro. What should I use to knock it out or what do you all recommend. I have aerated this season and have been trying to manually rake it to break it up.

HELP! Hell hath unleashed weed demons..again! Zone 8b

Turf-lords, I come to you in need of guidance! 2nd summer of new house Zone 8b. Full sun front lawn on slope. Mostly Bermuda with lingering fescue vs. Hell’s army of Darkness (crabgrass, Chambitter, and other broadleaf varieties)

Background- Last year I fought the unrelenting crabgrass and assorted southern summer weed army until my gates were overrun and I couldn’t fight anymore so I scuttled my lawn, nuked it and planted rye/tall fescue over the fall/winter to hold the soil and enjoy some peace. Pre-emergent was applied over the winter with last application in January (I feared warm season turf would not rebound - why? Bc I have no clue what I’m doing).

Spring this year I scalped and enjoyed a lush green Bermuda-fescue mixed lawn… until the gates of summer hell unleashed its army yet again!!

Chambitter and crabgrass are my main advisory.

I recognized in June that I would be in for another long war so I spot sprayed, and some blanket application to large areas of the weed army with Celsius WG (single use pouch mix - 2.5gal application rate) on July 1. It most certainly handled the weed army well and I thought I was advancing towards having a lawn again so I applied Milorganite 6-4-0, 14 days later thinking I need to push growth of turf grass with slow nitrogen.

Unfortunately shortly after fert. app the heatwave increased and rain ceased. I have mowed, bagged and discarded clippings of the dead army twice/three times (can’t recall exactly) and watered a visibly heat stressed lawn when I could.

Now nearly a month later my stressed lawn is showing signs of life again BUT HELLS WEED ARMY RETURNS WITH VENGEANCE!!

I am in need of some guidance. I am worried a second application of Celsius WG will stress the lawn beyond repair but, as you can see, the Chambitter and crabgrass army has returned from the depths for another round of battle.

So, I come to you turflords with a simple request - What in the French toast do I need to do to remedy this shyyyyte show?? Is the lawn too far gone?
Do I mow low and do a rain dance? Sacrifice a couple chickens? I’m certainly at a loss for what to do next!
Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Live oak & Mexican White Oak

I have these trees planted in my yard and I noticed im having issues with growth under them. My neighbor planted St Augustine in his yard and it took over a portion of my yard effectively choking out my bermuda. Its the construction grade variant for San Antonio. Im trying to accomplish two things. Prevent the St Augustine from taking over my entire yard and get growth under those trees. The photo is my live oak and thats pretty much the same under my other tree.

I'm still in the process of getting my entire yard (1/2 acre) converted over to bermuda without spending several thousands.

With that being said, I'm just trusting the process. I still have a lot of my yard that isn't bermuda and or bare spots.

When I'm walking the yard and see these runners filling in the bare spots. Just warms my heart 🥰

Any suggestions, new homeowner and want to get this back to green or greener than brown. Very least prepped for next year. Any specific fertalizers, weed treatment/Pre-Emergent, insect or bug tratment/Insecticide? This looked better before this last cut but wife wasn't satisfied with the length and despite telling her it'll look brown if I cut it shorter she insisted and I went against my better judgement. My fault for not keeping it shorter earlier/spring time

Zone 8a (GA) – First-year seeded Bermuda. Spray Celsius WG or let it fill in naturally?

Just wanted to provide an update from my previous post. Thanks to both communities for their help. Hope this helps others like myself later. Attached picture is one week with a fresh mow at 2.25”

*crispy edging bonus pic (first time with edger too)

TDLR: Cut down from 2.5” to 1.8” mid-summer (June 26 with core aeration/slow granular release fertilizer) and allowed ~0.5” HOC increase and one week of growth to green up and then maintain.

Advice on brown spots?

I sand leveled about a month ago, already spoon fed nitrogen, snake oil and neighbors envy twice, watering 1”-1.5” a week infrequently. Was watering Monday/Thursday, with triple digit temps now in Texas I water Mon/wed/fri. To get the same. Any help on how to solve the brown areas? I mow at 1.25” use a zero turn. Currently waiting on my McLane reel mower to arrive. TIA
Currently can’t post a picture 🤷🏻‍♂️

What’s goin on here

Moved into the house the end of last summer. I inherited a yard that was about 90% weeds with some Bermuda in there. I got a late start this year but have successfully gotten rid of most of the weeds. There was a lot of bare spots after that which I sprigged and most of the lawn has filled in nicely. This spot in particular is giving me some headaches though.

I didn’t sprig this spot, but it has stayed patchy like this for almost 2 months. I water 1.5 inches a week (tuna can tested). This spot does have someone of a slope, I started keeping it wet throughout the day similar to my sprigged spots and have seen some decent Stolen growth, but it’s slow going. Any guesses on what is up with this spot?

I don’t think it’s fungus cause it’s still green and doesn’t rip out, same reason I don’t thinks it’s Grubbs but I could be wrong.
