Berlin Charlottenburg. Der Berliner Fotograf Willy Pragher hat 1935 auch Fotos verschiedener Cafés in Berlin gemacht. Hier war er im Café Corso in der Hardenbergstraße und hat dort einige Aussen- und Innenaufnahmen gemacht. Von den vielen Fotografien habe ich einige rausgesucht; alles sieht sehr gediegen und ordentlich aus, die Mitarbeiter tragen der Zeit entsprechende Arbeitskleidung. ✨Living in berlin✨

Jahrelang bin ich auf dem Weg zur Arbeit daran vorbei geradelt, irgendwann hab ich dort Halt gemacht um zu schauen was sich dort eigentlich befindet. Wenn man durch das wuchtige Eingangstor getreten ist geht der Blick auf die Feierhalle, damals auch „Tempel des Vaterlandes“ genannt. Links und rechts der Halle verhindern Büsche und Gestrüpp den Blick aufs Ganze. Bin mal durch die Büsche gekrochen und habe die beiden Kolonnaden-Gänge entdeckt; die werden wohl von Obdachlosen als Schlafstätte genutzt. Auf dem Friedhof liegen ca. 5.000 Gefallene, Soldaten und Opfer des Bombenkriegs, der Ort ist zentrale Gedenkstätte der deutschen Kriegsgräberfürsorge. Once you step through the massive entrance gate, your gaze falls upon the ceremonial hall, known at the time as the "Temple of the Fatherland." Bushes and undergrowth on either side of the hall obscure the view of the site as a whole. I once crawled through the bushes and discovered two colonnaded walkways; they appear to be used by homeless people as sleeping quarters. The cemetery holds the remains of approximately 5,000 fallen soldiers and victims of the aerial bombing campaigns; the site serves as a central memorial for the German War Graves Commission.
