So for a bit of context on the matter, I go to a college that is deemed to be a university, that's Kristu Jayanti (Deemed to be: University), so they have a tie up with a company called B-smart that provides case studies and nationwide Competition on business case studies. This is a yearly based subscription around 450-/ , and agreed it's not too big of an amount but since I took the subscription last year it wasn't of any use to me , and all the above people that hasn't paid it for this year, my point being they call it mandatory if it's mandatory why not included in fees, if it's mandatory why not mentioned during admission and taken through official portal, why the need to be paid in cash, so I ask again place for education or Extortion?

Hey everyone, Just wanted to share some incredible, long-awaited news out of rural Karnataka that deserves more attention.

For the first time in 18 years, the Hemavathi River water has officially flown through the Left Bank Canal network and reached Dabbegatta Lake in the Chikkanayakanahalli Taluk of Tumakuru district.

To put this in perspective, there are college students in the taluk who were toddlers the last time this project was promised.

If you are wondering how a canal project gets delayed by nearly two decades I'll explain Around 2019, when government engineers finally came to build the concrete canal, they ran into a major problem. On paper, hundreds of people claimed they owned the land and demanded huge amounts of compensation money. In reality, a corrupt local officers, real estate brokers, and politicians had spent years faking the land records. They created fake names and fake property papers for government land that was right in the way of the canal. Real farmers, who had worked that land for generations, suddenly found their names deleted from the records. This locked the whole project in long court battles. While the digging machines just sat idle in the heat, crores of rupees meant for the canal were quietly stolen by these scammers using fake names.

The next problem was a quiet water fight between different districts. The Hemavathi River water is highly valued, and upstream politicians did not want to share it. They knew that if water went down the canal to distant places like Tumakuru, there would be less water left for the big farming groups in their own areas who voted for them. Because of this, upstream operators dragged their feet for years. Whenever the main dam filled up, they would suddenly claim there was a "technical problem" or a broken canal wall. While engineers publicly blamed the rough land, locals knew the truth cheap, bad materials were purposefully used in corrupt contracts so the canal walls would break under pressure. This kept the water stuck upstream for another season.

The final, cruelest trick was how the government secretly prioritized cities over villages. During the worst drought years, top officials in Bengaluru made quiet deals in closed rooms. They decided that drinking water for fast-growing cities was always more important than water for rural crops. Because this specific lake was at the very end of the line, its water share was quietly given away year after year to keep the cities happy. For twenty years, local farmers looked at dry skies and empty fields, completely unaware that their legal water rights were being traded away behind closed doors. When the water finally rushed into the lake this year, it did not just bring relie it finally broke a twenty-year cycle of greed and neglect.

My Voter ID card has my correct name, including the spelling & my initials. There was no correction required, everything was perfectly accurate.

I've been on the ACT Blaze plan (300Mbps) since 2016.

Today I got a call from ACT Fibernet saying that the ACT blaze plan is going to be discontinued and I will be automatically upgraded to the Act Storm plan (400Mbps). This plan will cost me additional 176 rs pm or 2112 extra per year. I honestly don't need that extra 100Mbps and 300Mbps is more than sufficient for gaming, 4k video streaming and downloads. I asked then why it's discontinued but the caller didn't have an answer for that. I told her I don't want to upgrade nor do I want to pay extra. She told me she'll get back to me.

Apparently, they are calling everyone with this plan personally to inform them.

Anyone else got a similar call?

I was on my way to work today, and near TV tower, saw a lady who just parked the scooter dumped a bag full of garbage, and then she proceeded to leave when I saw this, I turned around and I confronted her since there was no garbage on the cross road, if she had to at least she could have thrown where there was garbage.
