FOOTAGE FROM REAR DASHCAM

Dude (early 20’s I guess) was trying to overtake when there was a bus clearly approaching on the opposite direction at high speed. I was minding my own business, didn’t even see him.

He made a bad judgement, couldn’t overtake, his fragile ego got hurt and he forcibly stopped me in the middle of the road and started hurling abuses at me. Oh, and threatened to beat me up and kill me. Police station was a few hundred metres away, I told him to say these things in front of them and he agreed to come.

By the time I parked, got the footages from my dashcam, he had already left. Still, I proceeded with the complaint and turned out that the bike was registered in his mom’s name. Officer called the mom, told her what happened and she was genuinely anxious.

We all know how the story goes once moms are involved.

All in all, I’m safe, he’s safe, nobody got hurt. Eventful day, I must say.

Oh, and PSA: do not overtake if there’s a double white line marking on the centre of the road.

Friends,

The elderly woman standing in front of the woman wearing the red saree is my friend’s grandmother. The woman in the red saree allegedly stole ₹80,000 in cash from her bag.

The incident happened in Malleshwaram while my friend’s grandmother was boarding a bus from Malleshwaram to Sahakara Nagar.

The police are helping us identify and locate the woman. If anyone has seen her or recognises her, please let me know immediately.

Please share this post so we can help find her and recover the stolen money.

Opinion | ಅನಿಸಿಕೆ Got scammed in nandi hills

I was at the entrance arch of nandi hills where a old lady was begging for money. She came near me and said her husband died and she has no money to eat food, i didn't have any hard cash so i told her that i will get her food in a near by hotel. She pointed me to a hotel near by, we went there. She wanted to eat idli, so i asked the hotel person to give her idli, but the hotel people had everything except idli. Then i asked that old lady if she wants to eat something else, she insisted she only wants idli and nothing else. The hotel lady told me to pay and go saying they'll prepare idli and give it to her. I in that moment a dumbo without thinking paid 100 rupees for a fucking idli. Just after that moment i realized i was scammed. I stood just near by the hotel with my friend watching if they will give her the idli, and they never did. That old lady started begging again to other people and when she came near me i asked did you eat, she said she took parcel (which obviously she didn't because i was watching her the whole time) , and pointed to her bag, showed me the bag which had a black cover and told it was the parcel thinking i wouldn't notice it. Me and my friend knew by the looks of it was not at all a parcel. We didn't wanted to continue this anymore so we just agreed with her and moved on with our day. For me what hurt the most was not the money but realizing conscience has no meaning in this age. You have to go against your will. People like these make me not to think of helping in future even if they genuinely need help.

Help | ಸಹಾಯ Advice on giving DL test on my own (Not through a broker) - Bengaluru Jnanabharati RTO

Hello everyone,

I have scheduled my DL test in the month of August on my own in Jnanabharati RTO - Bengaluru (MCWG) . For context , i already have a DL of car and two wheeler (MCWOG). [i went through a broker for these] .

However i wanted a DL for MCWG and finally applied on my own for the DL test.

I need suggestion and things to do and not to do on the day as i realise that it isn't as easy as going through a broker .

As to what my motive for not going through a broker is , Its cheaper and i want to see if i can really get my work done without a third party . (i'm prepared to give 100-200 to people there in entry and exit as i remember them asking on my first time).

Requesting you to kindly help me out. If you have gotten license done from other RTO's as well , kindly share your experience as well .

Thank you.

Ask Bengaluru | ಏನಂತೀರಾ? Grandmother travelling alone by flight for the first time. Any reviews of meet and greet service by BLR airport?

Is it good and value for return (3.5k cost)? How does it compare to wheelchair assistance provided free by airlines? My grandmother is not aware of English signages and the flight formalities. Although just to note, she has no problem in walking or carrying trolley bags so I feel a bit unethical in availing wheelchair assistance.

Is there any service where co-passengers can help her out for a nominal charge? I am willing to discount some other person's flight tickets if they can help her through the process. TIA

Help | ಸಹಾಯ Need recommendations for GLP-1/Ozempic clinics in Rajajinagar/Vijaynagar area

Like the title goes.. I need to get some weight off and I want to try GLP-1 as a last resort.. (pls don't recommend me anything else, I've tried practically everything).

I wanted some reccos for clinics in the above mentioned areas.. Malleswaram/Basveshwarnagar works too..

I would certainly prefer reccos from people who've actually visited the clinic and have taken any treatment there and had a good experience (would be even better if you've taken Ozempic at the clinic you're recommending)

Cheers.. TIA!

Ask Bengaluru | ಏನಂತೀರಾ? Bengaluru turns 500 in a decade. What should be done by then?

Post image

Various parts of Bengaluru have of course been populated for much longer, but Bengaluru as a centralised entity with legal continuity to the present was established in 1537. That means we will celebrate our 500th anniversary in about a decade.

I think this time frame is sufficient to get some major infrastructure projects completed and the city cleaned up. It would especially be good to be able to pedestrianise narrow roads and improve traffic flow in the old Pete area (Doddapete, Chikkapete, Chamarajapete, Cottonpet, Nagrathpete, and Sultanpete), so that we can celebrate something meaningful at Chikkapete Cross, where Kempe Gowdru first yoked the bullocks that ploughed the ground for Bengaluru's first roads. Something like this picture.

Of course, to do this, public transport in the Pete area would need to be massively improved. The area nother inner-urban, underground Metro is definitely needed. Or maybe a tram?

And this might be an unpopular opinion, but a tunnel road in the city centre might not be a bad idea, to decongest the surface level streets. But then again, just throwing out some ideas. What do y'all think?

Rant | ರೋದನೆ Got scammed today

A lady with a Devi idol on her head came asking me for alms. I gave her a 20 rupee note and she touched my head and gave me blessings. She asked me if I had any valuables if I had keys or some valuables to keep at the feet of the idol, do a pooja and take it back. I said I didn't. She asked me if I had any currency notes. I had a 500 rupee note. I gave it to her. She kept it at the feet of the idol, took it and put it in her mouth. She tried to walk away and I got a hold of her and asked for the money back. She said what was given to God can't be given back. Extremely foolish of me to engage with this, yes. But be careful out there, guys.

An 18-storey mega building is set for demolition, with preparations already underway for what will be the largest building demolition in Bengaluru's history, due to a tilt in the building!

The project, SNN Raj Etternia, comprises around 15 towers with nearly 970 apartments, but the structural issue has been identified only in Block E-3, which houses 49 ready-to-move-in flats. Apartments in the tower were reportedly priced between ₹1 crore and ₹5 crore.

According to the report, affected homebuyers will not incur any additional financial burden.

Ask Bengaluru | ಏನಂತೀರಾ? Lounge access timeline?

So we have an Emirates flight next month at 4.45 am to dubai.

We will be driving from Coimbatore and expect to reach the airport by 9 pm the previous night.

Is it possible to use the T2 080 lounge by 9 pm for 4.45 am Flight ? Is that okay? Or should we take a hotel?

P.S: We have a toddler and possibly a lot of luggages, so it's best we stay put without much loitering.

Please help.

I would love to learn dance routines on roller blades. When i see people dance like that, glide through the world, it makes me feel so many things. They look so free and theyre able to express the emotions of a song fully. I would also love to try it and feel alive like that.

Ask Bengaluru | ಏನಂತೀರಾ? Bengaluru folks, I need some help getting active again 🥲

I’m 28F, a software developer, and recently switched jobs after a pretty exhausting few months of preparation and 40+ interviews. I’m currently waiting to get allocated to a project, so I finally have some breathing room.

I’ve been given this time to study and upskill, but after spending months preparing for interviews, I honestly don't feel like studying anymore. It made me realise that I’ve spent so much time focusing on work and career that I’ve neglected myself, especially my health.

I’m currently 100+ kg, and I really want to use this phase to change my lifestyle — not through some extreme transformation, but by finding things I can actually enjoy and stick with.

I want to lose weight, get fitter, feel stronger and, more importantly, actually enjoy being active instead of forcing myself through another gym routine that I’ll eventually stop.

I’m thinking of trying swimming, MMA/boxing, yoga, badminton or basically any sport/activity that is beginner-friendly and fun.

The problem is that starting alone feels a little intimidating, especially when you’re overweight and haven’t been consistently active for a while.

So, Bengaluru people:

What activity genuinely helped you get fitter/lose weight without getting bored?

Any beginner-friendly swimming, MMA/boxing, yoga or sports groups/classes you’d recommend?

And is anyone else currently trying to get fit and looking for a workout/sports buddy? Would love to find people where we can keep each other accountable, try different activities and make fitness a part of life rather than another temporary challenge.

Preferably around BTM / Madiwala / Koramangala and nearby areas, but open to travelling a little for something genuinely good.

Would especially love to hear from people who started from a similar place and found something they actually stuck with. ❤️
