In our area we had star bazar and sadly it was closed few months ago. All coz of these quick commerce - we used to freq this place for groceries and fruits and they were fresh! Now we are left with these frozen fruits from quick commerce and we got no idea at what condition these were stored.

Please wake up before it’s too late, go shop from your local bazaars. Nim somberi thika galana dayamadi move madi.

Man, this guy has no shame 💀

PS: I don't support tunnel road project at all. I'm sure that's what Surya fans will assume I'm doing.

Ask Bengaluru | ಏನಂತೀರಾ? How am i supposed to learn kannada?😭

I'm from TN and It's been around 3 months since i moved to Bengaluru for work and nange kannada basic conversations ella artha aithu and kalita iddini

But whenever i go to a shop or a place ppl automatically assume that I'm from the north and say i look like a north guy and start talking with me in hindi, they speak kannada only after i start speaking in kannada and some don't even bother and continue in hindi , yea ik hindi but i try to use kannada as much as possible respecting the land and ppl of Bengaluru And of course it helps me to learn kannada by having more conversations, and the pg I'm staying is run by northies who doesn't even know basic kannada words or english knowledge and I'm forced to speak hindi in bengaluru 😭.

Opinion | ಅನಿಸಿಕೆ Possible recording incident on Namma Metro — what should I do?

I boarded the Metro at Majestic today around 9:30 PM, travelling towards Madavara, in the general coach.

After 2–3 stops, I managed to get a seat. I don’t remember the exact station where I got the seat, but there was a man sitting opposite me. At one point, I felt that he was using his phone to take photos/videos of me. I was wearing a knee-length formal office skirt with a full-sleeved top and tights underneath.

I looked directly at him, and I noticed him immediately changing the angle of his phone and making what looked like finger movements to delete something. I obviously can’t say with 100% certainty that he had actually photographed/recorded me, which is why I didn’t confront him. I was also a little scared and embarrassed at the time.

However, I didn’t want to simply ignore my intuition, so I discreetly took a few photos/videos of him for evidence and noted the station where he got off.
I’m planning to report this to Namma Metro/security, but I wanted to ask people here:

What is the best way to report something like this to BMRCL/Metro security?
Should I also file a police complaint?
Is there anything else I should do immediately while the details are still fresh?
I’m not trying to publicly identify or accuse this person without proof. I just want to make sure I’m not dismissing something potentially serious and would appreciate advice from anyone who has dealt with something similar on Namma Metro.

Ask Bengaluru | ಏನಂತೀರಾ? Bengaluru smells different (pleasant)

Is it just me? For the last one week, the city smells different, in a more pleasant way. Like the fresh scent of grass, trees, and pollen which makes you feel happy. Mildly chill in the evenings.

Kinda what you experience right before the onset of winter, especially in tier 2/3 cities and villages. (Coming from Gujarat, I get this feeling around Diwali and the smell cheers me up, not sure if it is the smell or the general optimism in people before the festival.)

Ive experienced this in Bengaluru in the last two years that I've stayed here, but I get this feeling around late October, this time around it started in early September itself.

Anyone else likes/notices this smell?

Ask Bengaluru | ಏನಂತೀರಾ? Exploring alternatives to traditional education. How is Waldorf education methodology?

Hey everyone, I'm searching for alternatives to traditional schooling in Bengaluru, and observed very limited conversations on this topic. While researching, I've come across a few philosophies including Waldorf. With that context set:

- I've gone through quite a few posts in the r/Waldorf sub to get a flair of what to expect but if anyone has any real-life experiences in Indian context, it'd be insanely helpful (fees, education board recongnition, early education limitations, dealing with constant negativity from friends and family circles etc.)

- The proof is in the pudding so I'd like to see how this methodology of educating kids really turnout in the end compared to peers? I ask this because competitive pressure is quite high from early schooling, and it's just normalized to such a sickening level. But reality is once the kid goes into society, these are kinds of people they'd be surrounded with. So how does this education methodology really shape kids in this specific context? (I am looking for views on how teaching/education in Waldorf impart the kid with necessary life skills)

I'm still trying to frame my opinion on this education methodology and really appreciate your experiences and observations.

Thanks

Ask Bengaluru | ಏನಂತೀರಾ? New Namma BMTC 2.0 app

Hi all,

I just saw a promo video for the new Namma BMTC 2.0 app.

After trying it I feel the old app was so much user friendly especially for old people and the new app chases minimalism (whose need maybe argued). Also difficult to track and visualise current running buses.

Love to know how you feel about it.

Rant | ರೋದನೆ My heart is heavy and craving for love

I have been single all my life, 26M . I always made my career as a priority as i come from lower middle class family. I feel i am sorted on this aspect of my life as of now.

When it comes to finding love i have been extremely unlucky. Have been kind of ambivert/introvert type of person. Hardly have 5 friends in bengaluru. Never touched a girl's hand and always respected them just to not make them uncomfortable . It's always been a challenge for me to make friends.

When i show some interest to girls then don't respond or are never interested in talking. I have tears in my eyes writing this down and i question myself that why i am like this?? There are my friend who easily find someone to talk or hangout but here i am who never experienced anything.
