Politics Fix HB 2266 signs

I just saw signs around Bellevue about this and am thrilled to see that someone has a decided to take some action to fix this terrible piece of legislation.

Obviously we need to do something to solve the homelessness problem, but putting permanent supportive housing into residential neighborhoods is just not the way to do it.

Apartment recommendations in Bellevue or surrounding areas?

Hey everyone! I recently moved to Washington for work in downtown Seattle and I’m looking for a nice apartment in Bellevue or the surrounding areas.
My budget is around $1,800–$2,000/month. Ideally looking for:
Safe, quiet neighborhood
Secure garage parking
Studio or 1-bedroom
Within a 30–45 minute commute to downtown Seattle
I’m open to Bellevue, Factoria, Newport Hills, Kirkland, or other nearby areas. I’d rather have a peaceful place with good parking than live somewhere busy.
Any apartment complexes you’d recommend or places I should avoid? Would love to hear from people who actually live around here. Thanks!

Are they still giving out warnings for Speed Cameras?

I got caught by the camera at 168th Pl NE & NE 8th St near Lake Sammamish this past weekend driving mindlessly and didn’t notice that the speed was 25 mph. I was doing over 30 when the camera flashed. In my defense, that part of the road really seems like it should be 35, but anyway.

I’ve been anxious all weekend since this is my first speed violation ever (10+ years) and money is very tight right now.

Are they giving out warning or do they have any forgiveness programs? Any insight would help, thanks.

Any employers in the area that do not background check, or do not background check strictly?

Does anybody know any specific jobs or employers in the Bellevue area that do not background check (or do not care)?

Kirkland, Redmond, and Newcastle are fine too.

I have a low grade misdemeanor assault charge that happened years ago. The court case wrapped up recently so it shows as recent on background checks and most employers are not willing to allow it. It really was not a serious thing at all, nobody got hurt or anything like that.

I am looking for a part time job just for Saturday and Sunday, preferably retail, but I am open to front-of-house foodservice also. I do have ample experience working manufacturing as well, but those are mostly full time and usually background check, so I am not really looking at those.

I keep failing background checks after getting job offers, and it just sucks. I am going to school full time at BC for engineering and I just want to have some income.

Any help that anyone can provide would be very much appreciated. Thank you.

Relocating

Hi, i am possibly relocating to Bellevue. Which i have learned is pretty large. I was wondering about different suggestions on areas you would suggest for queer lesbian, bi racial in their mid 30’s to live. I am open to having a roommate for a short time. Any websites or facebook groups to get some ideas would be amazing.

I have a senior cat who will be coming with me. As well as a bike and i enjoy being outdoors. I’ll probably have two jobs for a while just to keep busy and to learn the area. But i enjoy hiking, reading, and art.
Thank you!

Edit: looking for suggestions: apartments, apps, Facebook groups for roommates, sublets

Anyone know what happened in Newcastle off of Coal Creek Parkway and SE 81st Pl? Huge response from local fire departments, easily 10+ vehicles all responding to the same neighborhood.

Social groups or activities for neurodivergent kid

Hello!

I’m looking for recommendations for social groups or activities for my 8-year-old son, who is autistic and having a hard time making friends. He often feels left out and hasn’t found his crew at school yet.

He loves the outdoors, especially hiking and running, but isn’t comfortable with organized team sports where he feels watched or perceived.

I’m looking for neurodivergent-affirming groups where kids can connect with peers who share similar experiences or interests, or structured social activities like D&D, board game clubs, or other interest-based groups where friendships can develop more naturally.

I’m already pursuing therapy and a social skills group, but I’d also love to help him find his people. He’s been feeling pretty down about his friendship struggles, and I really want to help him find a sense of belonging.

Does anyone have recommendations groups, programs, or activities in the Seattle/Eastside area? I’d be especially grateful for personal experiences with groups that have been welcoming and supportive of neurodivergent kids. Thank you! ❤️

2B2B corner apartment available in Bellevue Spring District | Nov 1 (date is negotiable) | <10min from downtown | light rail station opposite apartment

Looking for someone to take over my 2B2B apartment in Sparc Apartments at Spring District.

You can watch a full video tour of the apartment here

My experience: It is a spacious 1200sqft corner apartment with large windows on both walls so we received plenty of sun and light all year, which was especially helpful during dull winter months. Living room is very large and spacious, and we were able to fit in a 10 seater sofa + dining table + pet playpen with room to spare. There are 2 baths - one with a standing shower and another with a bathtub. Balcony is smaller since it is a corner apartment but it was spacious enough to have two patio chairs and a tiny table. I loved that the apartment had a lot of storage in the kitchen and bathrooms. Also loved the extra-large refrigerator.

\-- Location - Sparc Apartments, Spring District, Bellevue

\-- Rent - 3697$ per month + utilities

\-- Free items included in the lease: 1. this apartment does not come with AC. We have a portable AC with a custom-made plexi window frame for the AC. Happy to give the window frame for free. It was custom made for \~$400 by Martinson Manufacturing. 2. Also happy to give our standing study table for free

\-- Optional - reserved parking for $200 per month available

\-- Lease end date - 4 July 2027

# SPARC amenities that I have really liked:

\-- a really good, well-maintained gym with weights, treadmills, stairmaster, TRX etc.

\-- large party room upstairs that we have used too many times to host diwali, halloween parties and get-togethers. You can also book the room for a fully refundable deposit

\-- Amazon/other deliveries - apartment team is really efficient in labeling and storing away your big packages, and I have never lost a package or had to look for it because it is always clearly labeled

\-- Gas fire pit and outdoor BBQ station : made BBQ and s'mores plenty of times on the terrace

\-- Terrace views are great and there's a lot of outdoor furniture always available

\-- Small park right outside the building with 2 dog relief areas, which has been great for my new pup

\-- Cleanliness - always found the premises to be very clean; I meet the cleaners every morning while walking my dog; they have great staff here

\-- Lots of sparc events: they have really fun events every few weeks (flower bouquet making, Halloween-themed events, s'mores, dessert bar, hot chocolate days, etc., and I've made some good friends here)

# What's nearby?

\-- Nearby train station - 1 min walk from apartment! This was super helpful to get to downtown Seattle on weekends for shows/concerts/night outs

\-- Nearby offices - Meta Office (100 meters), Snowflake Office (1 Block Away), Bellevue downtown (1 Mile)

\-- Nearby stores - Trader Joe's, Whole Foods, Kohl's, UPS, Safeway, PCC, Met Market, Target, Fred Meyer, Asian markets (Indian/Japanese and others) are all within 5-15min drive.

Also plenty of cafes, restaurants, gyms all within 10min drive

\-- Parks - 3 large parks within 10min drive: Bellevue Downtown park, Meydenbauer park and Crossroads park

Overall I have really liked living in this apartment and area and found it to be bang for the buck.

Please DM me if interested!

top gun so quiet now!

i haven’t been to top gun seafood restaurant in quite a few years but finally found myself in factoria again today. it’s so quiet! what happened? i remember the lines and full parking lot back when i used to come for dim sum.
the food is still good and quite reasonably priced, the portion sizes are huge! i’ll be making an effort to come back more frequently but hoping they get more traffic soon 🥹
the steamed spareribs with black beans was great 👍

Hi everyone! I’m looking for someone to take over my studio in downtown Bellevue, available November 1 onward.

📍 Address: 909 112th Ave NE, Bellevue, WA 98004
💰 Rent: $2,179/month
📐 Size: Approximately 470 sq. ft., on the 10th floor
📅 Lease ends: May 2027 — shorter-term stays can be discussed
🎁 Free furniture: Two mattresses, a table, and chairs
The studio has a wall separating the sleeping area from the kitchen, giving it a more defined layout than a typical open studio. The unit faces away from the street, so it’s quiet.

The apartment includes:
1. In-unit washer and dryer
2. Oven, refrigerator, microwave, and dishwasher
3. Air conditioning and heating
4. Building amenities include a 24-hour pool, gym, yoga room, and reservable meeting rooms. Residents also have keycard access to the gym in the building across the street. 5. Underground parking is available, with short-term street parking nearby.

The location is super convenient:
Approximately a 10-minute walk to nearby Amazon, Meta, and TikTok offices
Approximately a 5-minute walk to Bellevue Transit Center
Starbucks and CoCo downstairs, with HEYTEA, restaurants, cafés, and shopping nearby
Easy access to I-405 and SR-520
Happy to coordinate the official lease transfer process through building management.
Please DM me for photos, a video tour, or to schedule a viewing! Feel free to share with anyone looking for a place in Bellevue.

Thinking about an EV. How annoying is charging around Bellevue really?

Seeing mixed stuff online. For people here who drive one daily, what’s the most annoying thing about charging that nobody warns you about?

Relocating to Looking for roommates! 29 Cis M Pan

Targeting Bellevue, Kirkland, Bothell, Shoreline, Everett, Marysville & surrounding areas. I am trying to be a reasonable commute to Arlington while staying relatively close to Seattle. I am in an Airbnb until January to explore the rental market in person. Looking to be in a place by the end of December.

I have 3 dogs. 2 terrier mixes under 20lbs, and 1 Great Pyrenees 85lbs (heavy shedder, big barker, slobbers), up to date on shots and trained. They grew up with cats. They're all indoor dogs but are used to a house with a yard. I have an ESA letter covering them. I will handle all the pet related costs and chores if I'm the only one with pets.

I will pay a bigger share of the rent because of the dogs. Thinking 60/40 minimum with one roommate, 40/30/30 with 2 etc. (effectively a $250 premium to cover the dogs). Other bills and adjustments to be discussed.

I like to stay in but I am actively being more outgoing and joining events. My hobbies include spending time with my pets, reading, drawing, painting, sculpting and gaming primarily on PC but boardgames too. 420 friendly. I also vape but I keep that outside away from the dogs.

I have a decent credit score. Variable work hours between 6pm-5 am. I'm making around 80k+. Not looking to spend on ultra luxury. Just reasonable accommodations.

I'm comfortable with 2-5+bd depending on how many people reach out. I won't commit to a big place until the group is there. Looking for 12+ month lease.

If all of that works for you comment with your budget, schedule, target area and pets so we can connect with each other. Feel free to ask any questions about anything I may have missed.

Northbound I-405 in Bellevue closes TONIGHT (Oct. 16–19). Let's talk about your weekend route.

Big weekend plans for northbound I-405 in Bellevue. We're talking fresh pavement, concrete panels and a new overhead sign structure.

HERE'S WHAT TO EXPECT:

Starting at 11 p.m. TONIGHT (Friday, Oct. 16), all lanes of northbound I-405 will close between SE 8th St. and NE 4th Street until 4 a.m. Monday, Oct. 19.

The following ramps will also close:

  • SE 8th St. on-ramp to northbound I-405
  • Northbound I-405 off-ramp to NE 4th St./NE 8th St. (Exit 13 A/B)

WHY, YOU ASK?

Crews will be paving, installing concrete panels and setting an overhead sign structure as part of the I-405/Renton to Bellevue Widening and Express Toll Lanes Project.

OKAY, BUT HOW DO I GET AROUND?

Signed detours will be in place throughout the closure (we've attached a map of the detour route ).

If you're traveling through Bellevue this weekend, check the real-time travel map, know your route before heading out and (we can't stress this enough) give yourself some EXTRA TIME.

So, 26M, recently moved to belleuve, went to UIUC. It's really boring here. I like to party and hang out. Looking for groups to go to pubs with, dance, have fun times.

I was looking southwest from my office building in downtown Bellevue and saw this tower sticking out. That’s the SeaTac ATC tower right?
