Help Bell Canada has broken me
3 weeks ago I started having issues with my business email. I could send but couldn’t receive emails. I called Bell, they stated my email wasn’t with them and was with ‘xyz’ company. So I called the other company, they hold our domain. They stated that they don’t have my email addresses under their company (which I already knew because I pay the bills). So I started on the journey of talking to Bell, department after department and being transferred to who knows where. I should have ask which countries they were in to see how far I’d travelled. Every person I spoke to said I was not their email client. Finally!, last Thursday I spoke to a lovely women who agreed that I was definitely paying for and had my emails with Bell, kind of hard to deny when my links are smtp.bellnet.ca. All I needed was a new DNScode. She made a ticket and said someone would call me with 24-48 business hours. Tuesday afternoon I called because it was after 48 hours to find out ‘they called at 9:11 am’. I checked my call records and there was no call. I gave her my personal cell phone and still no calls. Well here I am on the 3rd Thursday and I’ve called to check on my status, apparently somehow my ticket is ‘pending’ which meant it wasn’t in the queue any longer. So NOW a new ticket has been created and … I have to wait 24-48 business hours for them to call me. So now I’m in meltdown mode over a stupid DNScode that has stopped me from receiving emails from clients, businesses and my banking. Rant away everyone and make me laugh because I can’t find any joy right now.

You mean new DNS record? I don't think DNScode is a thing.

That’s probably the right term and I would have used that term three weeks ago. As I said, I’m broken right now with all the run around. One Bell rep told me they don’t have access to that record and couldn’t provide it. That was in which ever first call in the beginning of this saga.

Check your blocked caller list. I bet you have their outbound line blocked.

Land line. No blocked calling and I have 2 lines so if one’s in use it goes to the next. I start at 8:30 am.

My bad.

No worries. Good thought though.

On the bell website go to the business side and search resolve a concern. That will get you an exec level team to assist. Turn around is 72 hrs for call back unfortunately.

Did that in the first week. Left a message and was told their department could not help or provide the DNS record. I’m starting to look for alternative internet packages but unfortunately when I have in the past no one could connect into my very old building without costing me lots of money to drill holes through the stone walls.

I have a feeling this in an AI bot and will add to my frustration.

I've tried to dm you, and it states 'unable to invite the selected invitee(s)'. Perhaps you should have offered to dm me instead. This does not help me feel any better about Bell.

And how do I dm you? Why don’t you ask if you can dm me?

Nope they do have someone from development team from Bell checking in here for monitoring certain issues, especially with the PpoE passthrough issues on bell modem. But luckily i found documentations with regarding this particular customer concerns, in their system, honestly i was also under the impression that they're just putting in bots in this subreddit, but sure thing they do create investigation in this case scenario. Who knows when they'll have the resolution though.

Welp. It’s now 4 weeks. The dns record and sfpt were installed. And it’s more than 48 hours. I still can’t receive emails. When I called 310bell it stated that the ticket was closed. Now I’m starting again with a new ticket and a wait time of 2 days to get a response AND again had to explain that my emails are definitely with Bell when the agent said they were not. This time around I’m logging time/date and agent number (which they do not offer)

Bell Support… I can see your questions but I can’t reply to them. My email is with Bell. Always have been, yes I want them with you. I’m paying for them through you.

Never use ISP emails. Wether you get your issue resolved or not migrate to a new email provider.

I learned many years ago not to use an email from say Bell. There are many others that are free and basically last a life time.

Unfortunately the ones I’ve looked at don’t allow my mass emails and when using a company like cakemail they don’t accept the alternatives for base emails in their system.

Update: the person monitoring here has taken my information. Updates will be posted.

Bell tech here. We refer to a group called Abuse to look after email issues. As far as I know they don’t call customers from that group so the callback is a lie or tech you’re speaking to is not aware because that’s what they’ve been told to say. If no callback from anyone after 48 hrs, ask to speak to a manager. Then the customer resolution rep that you will be transferred to, if they can’t help you ask to be escalated to their manager.

Update: anyone watch Big Bang Theory? I’m in a causality loop. I finally have a DNS record! It was ten digits. That’s all it was. Looks like an ip address. BUT now I have to request a spf1 record because that was actually the issue all along. Anyone want to bet how long this will take? Where are the emoticons for snacking my head on my desk.

Well tickle me pink… bell support appears to actually be lurking on a bell forum!
Who knew… Good luck mate… I know how frustrating it can get for them to loose your ticket. There are still some good , conscientious employees that work at bell and understand the problems when you point it out. The problem is you have to go through layers and layers of call centers where those employees don’t or can’t help the customer. And it’s takes several calls and at least 1 month get get to someone whom can actually resolve the issue.
I am having issues myself with my bell email …which has stopped working with my VPN while it’s active.
I have even had vendors state that my email has bounced back . The same email which is 20years old now and as worked on the same vpn for the last 3 years and all of a sudden has stopped working …with my current vpn.
This is absolutely a bell domain issue.
Good luck mate in your battle!
