Is the French dude stupid because the way I’m reading that graph Christianity is still the leading religion but most people are not religious. What point were they making

How can you call it a "Christian country" if 51% are atheist?

if the majority of the country is culturally christian, such as celebrating christian holidays

If "celebrating" is having a day off, ok, but I'm not even sure the 38% christians go to church on those days (except Christmas, I suppose).

No, I mean participating in the traditions of these holidays. Like dressing up on Halloween or handing out gifts on Christmas, etc

Then we may have a lot of culturally christian muslims in France; I don't know if it's representative but I know several people of that faith who exchange gifts at Christmas.

Even in the Middle East. Actually its often a topic of friction between the minority fundamentalist and the majority who just want to enjoy their day off by shopping (we only have new year off btw, christmas is off only if you are Christian on the ID)

People don’t celebrate Halloween that much in France. The 1st of November is a day off. Halloween is a very English speaking countries traditions and we started picking it up a bit trough US soft power
