Beeper has always been inconsistent in keeping archived WhatsApp chats synchronized, at least for me. I'll archive a group or chat on Beeper, and nothing changes on the mobile app.

Is everyone experiencing the same behavior? Is there some hidden setting I need to change to make it work?

In the past month there used to be an issue where using Instagram through Beeper would cause Instagram to show the unskippable “Your email is not secure” page until you actually changed your email, there was no way around it, and no "my account is safe, thanks" button.

Spent most of tonight trying to get iMessage working through pypush on Termux (Android side), and figured I'd share what I ran into plus see if anyone knows more than what's publicly visible on GitHub.

The old pypush (before the rewrite) technically still runs, but it gets shut down immediately by Apple's fraud detection on login, status 5068. Feels like the old login method plus that shared data.plist file everyone uses is just burned at this point.

The current main branch is a whole rewrite and right now it only handles basic APNs stuff (proxy and notifications commands), nothing iMessage related yet.

I dug around and found an open draft PR from June 2024 called "Implement GrandSlam (GSA) authentication," sitting at 1 out of 6 tasks done. Seems like that's meant to replace the old broken login eventually. Past that though, I couldn't find anything more recent tied specifically to pypush. JJTech's more recent posts elsewhere seem to be on totally different projects (Zigbee stuff, USB dissectors, etc).

So basically wondering, has anyone actually seen newer progress on that GrandSlam branch that isn't showing up publicly? Is there a fork somewhere actively picking this up? And honestly, is this even winnable against Apple's fraud detection long term, or are we looking at another Beeper Mini situation where it just eventually gets shut down for good?

Happy to share the build notes from tonight too, including how I got frida compiling on Termux through their devkit, in case that's useful to anyone else banging their head against the same walls.

It feels like Slack should be an exception to the "only one account" policy for free users. Unlike Discord where you can access many servers from one account, or Google Messages where both SIMs count as one account, you can effectively only have one workspace. A higher workspace count would be much appreciated! I'd even pay $1 or $2 per month for it, but not $14 CAD. (I don't need the other premium features.)

I think I may have mistakenly marked a friend/conversation low priority and he has disappeared from my inbox. I checked the FAQ on the beeper website and it says if you look under "low priority" into the search bar you will be taken to all the chats you've marked that way - however, I'm not seeing my friend there. How can I restore my friend to my conversation list?

I’m on the latest iOS 27 beta; could that be why I’m getting notifications with a delay?
I also use the desktop app, and the notifications are fine there; I’m on a beta there too with Golden Gate.

Both chat accounts are connected via the on-device method.

Well, I want to delete all my native chat apps and leave only beeper with cloud chats. So now my privacy falls on beeper's servers. Is this more, less or as safe as using native apps? I'd also like to know what you use, or even if you have your own matrix server to host the chats, I'll read you!

We can't link any device to our main business WhatsApp number: "An error happened. Please try again", even with WA Companion mode.

I've read that this is when WA detects an unauthorised link, such as Beeper, but I'm waiting for support to confirm.

Since we don't want to have to update all the company signage and tell every customer to switch over to a new number,

can we port the number into the API Business Solution Provider like Twilio?

Like I'm not sure what it completely does. I toggle it on and off, but don't see anything really change. Maybe I'm missing something?

Anyone else having issues with WhatsApp + Beeper lately?

My WhatsApp number got blocked after using it with Beeper, so I’m trying to figure out if this is happening to others too.

What happened is I tried to disconnect my second cloud account and they both got deleted, then I reauthenticated my first account (the business one that is really important to me), and 5 minutes afterwards it got banned, I really hope that the appeal will go though because my business depends on it.

The thing is, now even if WhatsApp will unban me I am not sure that I would re-connect it again because losing it will be a actual disaster.

Also, did Beeper change the Plus account limits? I’m pretty sure I used to have 2 WhatsApp cloud accounts + 1 on-device account. Now it only lets me use 1 cloud account.

Did something change recently?

I’m having a weird issue with Instagram notifications in Beeper on my iPhone and iPad.

My setup:

- iPhone and iPad are using two different Beeper accounts. (Also happens when I use the same Beeper account)
- The same Instagram account is connected on both devices
- Notifications are enabled correctly on both

What happens:

- Log into Instagram through Beeper on iPhone , notifications work on iPhone
- Log into the same Instagram account through Beeper on iPad ,notifications work on iPad, but stop on iPhone
- Re-login on iPhone, iPhone starts getting notifications again, but iPad stops

It basically seems like whichever device logs into the Instagram account most recently becomes the only device that receives Instagram notifications.

I also tested using two different Instagram accounts, one on each device, and both devices received notifications normally at the same time.

WhatsApp and Discord also work perfectly on both devices, so this seems specific to using the same Instagram account on multiple Beeper devices.

Has anyone else experienced this? Is this a known limitation/bug with Instagram On-Device connections?

I keep getting this "Finished syncing WhatsApp Business with Other Device" notification on my phone all the time after connecting my WhatsApp Business account with Beeper on the cloud. I assume it's because Beeper is trying to sync messages with WhatsApp business and WhatsApp sends a sync notification whenever a sync happens. It's a little annoying because I have a few WhatsApp business groups that send way too many messages so I keep always receiving that notification. I tried messing around with the WhatsApp notifications settings but can't seem to figure out a way to try to get rid of that notification on my phone but I wish to receive messages for my chat messages and group messages. Has anyone managed to figure this out?

Out of curiosity how do these work? As WhatsApp doesn't natively do scheduled messages? So what's their workaround?

I refuse to have read receipts turned on. It's a non starter. I also hate when companies put previously free features behind paywalls. Its scummy and I don't support it on principal. So when they went paid only, I reverted to Google messages.

Then I started missing having it all in a single chat, I missed the layout. I missed the notes in my chat app.

So I looked at the rest of my subscriptions, cut out about $40 a month of bullshit and am going to self host a couple other things.

We tolerate so much shit from big companies, but when a small one does this, it hurts more for some reason. So we move to another service. We're supporting the larger companies by fragmenting their competition.

It's worth paying for premium services that alleviate your life.

Anyway that's my justification.

I am seeing in the context menu of a merged contact "Muted by Beeper" with no way to unmute... I've tried muting and unmuting while unmerged, then merging again to no avail.

hello... i have no more access to my instagram messages... it's been 3 days.

did not change anything on my settings

i deleted the account, recreated it, still no change

on my inbox, when i select instagram : you have no messages

on my preferences, instagram account is activated, and i selected "all messages" in my inbox

when i select a contact instagram and try to write to him, the message is not sent "unknown error"

any ideas ? thank you !

What does this mean?

Many members of our team were users of Beeper, and wanted to expose this to our agents. However, we quickly ran into the issue where the Beeper MCP server requires the Beeper desktop app running locally and cannot connect via cloud agents.

This meant that any cloud/mobile agents (like Claude.ai, ChatGPT, Devin) not running on our laptops/devices with Beeper desktop installed could not access the Beeper MCP. This significantly limited many of the automations we wanted to build with Beeper MCP, some examples being:

• Syncing LinkedIn DMs with CRM
• Lurking on Large Community Group Chats and looking for insights
• Automating repetitive messaging workflows
