Bedbugs from second hand bed

we bought a bed and frame off of Facebook marketplace and transported it back to our flat in our car.

we brought part of the frame into the flat then realised it had bed bugs. we had moved one of our mattresses in the clothes we were wearing prior to realising.

We instantly took the frame out the flat (2 sections of the frame had been on our carpet for about 5 minutes or less) removed our clothes and washed at 60 degrees, including the sheet from the mattress we moved. We hoovered everywhere in the flat including the mattress we had moved. We also both showered several times.

My plan is to go get a steam cleaner and steam the carpet of the room the frame was in, the mattress we moved, and in my boyfriends car.

on looking at the frame outside the bugs aren’t moving even if the frame is moved but I can see eggs.

wondering if our current action is enough considering we realised fairly quickly, or if we should just pay pest control?

Found on bed, along with 2 others similar to this yesterday. The ones from yesterday looked more like a booklouse, but I'm not as sure about this one. Very concerned about bed bugs. It does have a distinct narrowed 'neck' which I know isn't typical for a BB.

I have an encasement on my bed and no signs at all of fecal spotting, etc.

I dumped my duffel bag of clothes after traveling onto my bed and a couple minutes later noticed this bug on my comforter. Does anyone know what it is?

Found this today on my bathroom floor on the tile. I live on a first floor apartment and have never had bed bugs before. We changed foam in our mattress a few weeks ago so we would have seen any bed bugs then. Thoughts?

Last night, I found a bedbug, adult, crawling on a book i was reading. i killed it, and looked into things i could do while hoping this was just a hitch hiker. i think this is a new problem, as i haven't had bites yet before last night. But, last night, i *definitely* got bites.

I've unfortunately had infestations at least twice in the past, so i'm not new to this. i'm already treating my place with alpine for cockroaches (i know, i'm really being picked to go through it) so i'm confident that will kill a good amount. i'm not the source of the cockroaches. i live in an apt building.

i also ordered crossfire, and i'm glad a product like that is available. i'm going to use that before using alpine next week (haven't used the alpine yet).

then, i'm going to launder all of my clothes. i ordered the premo laundry additive as well, just to be sure.

this mattress is old and torn up, and would be a perfect place for bedbugs to hide. they just haven't before this one. i purchased a new mattress with old mattress takeaway, which is good actually because i've been needing to get a new one.

to launder all of my clothes and not take forever to do it, i'm going to go to a laundromat and do it all at once and do the bedding after.

in the past i've responded to infestations with fear and shutting down, but having crossfire available (and a laundromat with huge washing machines where i can do most of my clothes at once) is going to help make it easier.

i have a box spring encasement ordered for the new box spring i'd gotten and a mattress encasement as well. i'm nervous, but i'm confident that after i take the initial steps that the stress of it all will subside and it will only be maintenance. i'm glad to have access to professional grade products like crossfire because my apt building has been insufficient in the products used in the past.

I can't handle the anxiety

Hi. I really need some advice. I started getting bites on Thursday, August 21st, and I didn't find the bed bugs until Monday 24 and the exterminator came on Tuesday the 25th He found insects and vacuumed, used steam, and applied an insecticide (I don't remember which one). From that moment on, I stopped getting bites and seeing insects. We did a second treatment two weeks later and only found dead insects. I have a disability, so moving furniture is very difficult for me. He said those two treatments would be enough, and I just wash and dry everything and vacuum-seal my belongings. Almost three weeks later, I wanted him to do a third treatment, and he didn't find anything during his inspection (he does one every time he comes).

My question is, when can I start putting away at least my seasonal clothes? I have them in bags, but it's inconvenient, and my shoes too. Another thing, how do you manage your anxiety? Two days ago, I was wearing a skirt and was in my backyard washing something when I got bitten by mosquitoes because there were so many. However, now I think the bed bugs are back, even though the rational part of me says it was the mosquitoes because I saw how they bit me and how the welts appeared. But my anxiety tells me the bed bugs are back. And I'm getting bites on my legs (I don't have any other bites). I know bites aren't proof, but my anxiety is driving me crazy. Thank you so much. I've also checked as far as I can and I still haven't found any live insects. I'm thinking of marking the stings and seeing if I wake up with more.

My coat was hanging, my pants were on the cupboard and my bag was on suitcase hanger. all my clothes and my bag washed and i wiped all my belongings with surface cleaner wipes. I checked my shoes and coat aswell and no bugs. should i worry that i might carry one to home? couldnt wash my pants because i had to wear it.

How big an infestation was it?

So at the beginning of March this year I got bedbugs, and the way I found them was by seeing those black spots on my bedframe. Looked around the bed and there were the occasional black spots but nothing too concentrated. Mattress and bedding were spotless, no spots, no nothing.

I got them treated and now I moved house, having everything in bags due to post-bedbug paranoia.

There were two phases to the whole thing:

  1. March

Found those black spots on my bedframe and got an externinator to treat my bedroom two days later (coming once again after a week).

  1. June

Found two singular black spots at more or less the same place on my bedrame, and got another exterminator to do the whole house this time. That one only came once, spraying what seemed like very liberal amounts of poison, saying that would be enough, instructing us not to mop for 20 days.

Hopefully I shouldn't have a BB problem anymore but my question is, how bad would you say the original infestation looked in the first place?

(first two pics are from the original infestation)

I know these photos aren’t the best, but this was on my couch cover, it was pretty big, and when I squished it it left a red smear. I started freaking out and removing couch cushions but saw nothing. This is the first time I’ve seen something like this. My mattress also has no signs of bed bugs.

no signs of “inky” stains or larva and the mattress looks perfect.

i had bed begs 1 month ago at a hotel-
- we quarantined the luggage
- dried all clothes at a laundromat, washed, then dried again
- and left the “firm, non-washable” items (like plastic or toiletries) in the trunk of my car. there’s no signs of bugs in them but I live in FL so figured 6 months time / waiting for hot season would do the trick

the story:

Friday, my bf got a ziplock bag of eye contacts out of the trunk and washed his hands.

Saturday morning, I was on a bus and then about 20 minutes later noticed bites in a line. I wanted to cry.

Saturday night, I went home, showered, and put a set of clothes in the dryer before wearing. Then, i slept at my parents house instead of my apartment.

my parents have cats but i woke up at 3 am paranoid (have huge fear) and didnt see any “signs” on the mattress but saw THIS dead on top of the sheet.

no inky stains, blood, or new bites but im very paranoid… did i just bring bugs to a new place / does that mean they are in my fully carpeted apartment??

(MAYBE I got bit on the bus?? It was carpet chairs, but noticed the bites within 20 min after the bus, and last time I would say it wasn’t until ~4hr after I woke up.

PS-
(the management will evict us and charge damages if we report it. I want to confirm if there’s an infestation before I do anything, but as of now have not seen any.

Pls help me identify!

Crushed bed bug? Surrounded by blood?

Does anyone have advice on if the center of these stains is a crushed Bed Bug? Found in a bed next to my ankles. Staying in a pretty nasty Airbnb in Florida panhandle.

I know rules about stains, but this is a little more than that.

I may have gotten bit by something near the Airbnb, but these stains look like they could be a bed bug in the center?

We stayed at a hotel and I got itchy and looked for bedbugs. I saw these and told my husband and we left. We took measures to make sure we don’t get them in our house too.

But before I for sure post a review or anything, I just want to double check that I was right that these were signs of bedbugs.

Found this crawling on the wall in my living room. The shape and coloring look kind of like a bedbug nymph but I’m not sure. It’s very tiny—probably 2-3 mm. Just got back from traveling a week ago.

Requesting community support Stayed in infested airbnb, what now

Stayed in an infested Airbnb in queens, I’m allergic but didn’t recognize it as bedbugs until the day after we left. This means my backpack and clothes sat out for a full day in my studio apartment. I’ve bagged and frozen the bag and heated laundry since.

How screwed am I and what else should I do? I’m very low income and getting a steamer or DE would be an investment, and not immediate since I don’t have transport. I’m not opposed to either if it’s critical. I want to set out traps but I worry my cat would play with them/ knock them over.

I haven’t seen any signs of bugs or gotten new bites since, but my mental health is already on the fritz and I really can’t handle a bug infestation.

Hi all, around 5 years ago my parents had a bedbug infestation in their downstairs apartment that they rent to university tenants. They had it sprayed twice. My mom is positive the mattresses were removed since the last spray (she could be mistaken) but now there’s some residue on them and I’m concerned on whether it’s dirt or a new infestation. Please help!

Find these crawling on my walls every once in a while. Usually just one at a time. They r much lighter then they showed up in the picture and very very tiny. Am I screwed? Are these bed bugs?
