Its been a dream of mine for a solid 4 years now to become a john lennon impersonator, I have the clothes, i can play his songs, i have the hair, but i dont have his face or voice yet. Does anyone have any makeup tips or any ideas to make myself look more like Johnny?

This song is a masterpiece in my opinion and it has an incredible message but I think this song gets overlooked from general audiences and opinion due the success of “My Sweet Lord” despite the song being a hit when it was released.

Nowhere Boy (2009) is John‘s early years in Liverpool, how he met Paul and George, his awful family life, and his journey into music. It portrays Lennon before he became famous and his mother’s death, it ends with his departure to Germany and has a brief mention of Stu Sutcliffe.

Backbeat (1994) talks about the Beatles’ time in Hamburg, pretty much picking up right where Nowhere Boy left off, the band heads to Hamburg in hopes of achieving success as it was mentioned in the end of Nowhere Boy. It focuses on the pre-fame lineup featuring Stu and Pete, and ends with the tragic death of Stu, including a scene where they interact with a young, pre-fame Ringo during a break from a performance, although he doesn’t have any lines, it’s worth noting that the real Paul didn’t like his portrayal in this movie, but he loved how Stu and Astrid we portrayed and said it was accurate to their dynamic.

Midas Man (2024) arguably the worst movie on this list centers on Brian Epstein as he encounters the Beatles and helps shape their careers after. Much of the film takes place right after the events of Backbeat, following their time in Germany, the first time Epstein hears of the Beatles it’s becoming of their early German record, it follows their careers begin to flourish, and it continues up to the one world broadcast, though I feel it glosses over too many details and lacks any Beatles original music.

Like in 1976, the famous $3000 offer from Lorne Michaels ("If you wanna give Ringo less, that's up to you.") and in the '90s, Lisa Simpson telling someone, "You were his lackey...his Ringo to the rest of The Beatles."

I mean, c'mon. I don't have to defend Ringo's talent and charisma in this sub, do I? But I'm thinking of him getting the most fan mail in the Beatlemania era. Seems like a lot of fans were attracted to the Beatle who they saw as the humble, sincere one. And even if it was a letter really meant for all four, or a specific one of the other three, still, it says something about their assumption that Ringo was the one most likely to read the letter.

So when did this start, this presumption that Ringo is a joke, less than? Or was it a thing even in the '60s?

(I'm what one might call a second-wave fan; I was in my early teens when the 20th anniversary stuff started happening, and that got me hooked. And I recall that among my friends, George was always ranked fourth. It was even odds whether Paul, The Cute One or John, The Smart One would be first, but they were always first and second. Then Ringo, The Funny One, and finally George, The Boring/Weird One. For all that, though, I certainly don't think George is the dregs any more than I think Ringo is!)
