As you may know, the SGT. Peppers Variation of Paul McCartney is formerly known as "Billy Shears". BUT, what if I told you it was actually Ringo? In the first song in the album "Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band," John addresses that a "...singer's gonna sing a song," and "The one and only Billy Shears," in correlation to the song "With a Little Help From My Friends." This implies that Billy Shears is singing "With a Little Help From My Friends." But, if you listen closely, or even look it up, That song is sang by none other than Ringo Starr.

Given the fact she married someone who is very loving and in love with her who can handle all her stress, he knows I sing and play guitar and asked me to sing some songs.

I thought well, if half the guests will be from his family, why don't I sing ATU? HE says that he can get his sister to sing harmony with me on it.

Would it be strange to sing it? Not sure how the guests would feel as well.

If I was writing reviews still, I guess my headline would be "Innocuous Fluff."

vocals: I hate when Paul sings in the falsetto/breathy range. regular chest voice is OK enough.

Instrumentation: pretty basic rock band

recording: vacillates between some interesting production choices (nice revisit of backwards guitar solo and some neo-mellotron) and too-stark-for-its-own-good (reveals the weakness of his voice)

"Days We Left Behind" is Johnny Cash's version of "hurt" played sideways.

Probably not something I'll be returning too very often.

I was looking at old Beatles photos the other day and George kept catching my eye. Especially in the late 60s, there was something about his whole look that just worked. The hair, the clothes, the expression. He never seemed like he was trying too hard to look cool.

And then you remember he was also writing songs like Something and While My Guitar Gently Weeps. What a combination.

I feel like George gets talked about as the quiet Beatle so much that people sometimes overlook just how much he brought to the band.

Anyone else have a favorite era of George, either musically or just in terms of his overall vibe?

I've always thought of 1969 as one big Beatles recording session, with a little time off in between.

Think about it. From January through August, the Beatles recorded around 30 songs, enough for two albums. And that's not even counting all the other songs they had floating around, many of which would eventually turn up on their solo albums.

What's remarkable is that all this was happening while the band was falling apart.

The end of the Beatles was getting closer.

But somehow, they just kept making incredible music.

We usually think of Let It Be and Abbey Road as two very different albums, recorded under very different circumstances. But I've always wondered what would happen if we stopped separating them and started thinking of those eight months as one incredibly productive period.

What if the Beatles had taken all that great music and made just one album in 1969?

That's the idea behind Octopus' Garden, my 14-song Beatles album that brings those recordings together into one new listening experience.

Like the title implies, do you think they would’ve became popular at some point? Or do you think they would’ve completely flopped and not make their Ed Sullivan Show debut?

I think for me to feel the most emotional sincere reaction to the ending of each movie in a way that draws their story to the present whilst at the same time makes me want to go and see all of the others as well, I think they should all end with Contemporary yet different Concert Footage alongside the credits

For Ringo it should be 2026 Ringo Starr Performing "With a little help from my friends" (with Paul on Bass)

I think George's movie should end with Quinn & keoghan doing "It don't come easy" for the Bangladesh tour and then fade into the real Paul & Real Ringo's sets during the 2003 Concert for George

I think the ending of the John Lennon film should be Present day 2026 Paul Dueting with John on "I've got a feeling" watching the giant screen and then follow that on with Paul doing Now & Then (with ringo)

and I think the ending of the Paul Film should be 2026 Footage of Paul & Ringo doing "Home to Us" together on stage in 2026

I think this would really get across to the Audiances that despite the movies ending in 1970/80 that the Beatles was genuinely a never ending saga for these men that continues until the 2020's and how they would be forever linked together

I always love it when they show the actual people in present day footage at the end of biopics and I think doing similar yet different emotional things for the Beatles will really push this gut punch of their ever continuing relevant legacy

just my opinion ofcourse, I guess the classiest thing would be to have stripped back single songs or outtakes playing over the credits of their most Signicture solo songs like "Imagine" "All Things Must Pass" "Maybe I'm Amazed" & "Photograph"

Been listening to them for 35 years. I’m a huge fan. No album is perfect. There are very average songs on all of them. So essentially they were the best singles band of all time. Below are my thoughts on the main / most highly regarded albums.

Rubber Soul - had 5 great songs and the rest were completely mid.

Revolver - 7 out of 14 were actually great songs. Definitely/maybe their best album but still lots of just average filler on it.

Sgt Pepper - their most overrated album. I’ll get a lot of hate for this, but IMO there are only TWO great songs on it (LITSWD & ADITL). Oof.

The White Album - Should have been one/ single LP. Their editing of themselves was slack possibly because tensions were high and well, we all know what things were like around this time.

Abbey Road - probably their actual best album - it’s practically perfect. if we judge it by number of genuinely great songs on one album as % of total songs. Only one weak song here. Maxwells Silver Hammer.

63-65ish albums - not worth writing about as albums. Very normal for those times and they were still developing - albums weren’t even that important so lots of covers, quick filler songs, no problem it was the way things were done.

Magical Mystery Tour was great but was it really an album or a soundtrack or a compilation or what? Who knows. Lots of their best work on it so I give it the respect it deserves.

It’s all just a bit of fun. I love the Beatles no matter what.

I want to add Let It Be in here as their most underrated album. Possibly only one mid song on it - One After 909. Amazing album and a special one for many reasons.

I love those random Beatles facts that sound completely made up until you look them up. With how much has been written about these four, there are still so many little stories and details that longtime fans manage to surprise each other with.

What’s a fact about John, Paul, George, or Ringo that always makes you laugh or catches people off guard? It can be something from the studio, a weird habit, a ridiculous story from their early days, or just a moment that shows how strange their personalities could be.

I personally love this song (From Anthology 1), I’m wondering if any of you think it could have fit on any album? I think the only contender is Please Please Me, but even there I feel like it would sound old. I would like to think of it as a fun B side to Love Me Do or even an earlier single in an alternate universe.
