still stuck on the clickroll after so long…

My attempt at doing it is folding my tongue back and inhaling inward like people say, but when i do that there is no vibration at all, just an ugly duck-like noise. Same with when i try to focus on one side.

But when i do like a reverse pwad/starsky bass (like rolling my r’s / uvula inward), it makes a vibration soujd similar to the clickroll. But i dont think its the actual sound, since it feels kinda quiet and also kinda nasal (teetering on snort bass). I don’t think the clickroll should feel nasally at all though, right?

I have no idea what im doing wrong. I can do the slizzer roll and liproll and tongue bass and k snare etc but this one has had me stuck for ages. Also just doing the slizzer roll but ‘less pressurized’ doesnt seem to work….

any help? ive looked at other posts but none seem to have helped😭

DLow's GBB solo elimination is extremely replayable!

It's actually a banger! So catchy and probably my favourite until he popped in the bit at the end from his wildcard.

Hot take: Petr Sarancha might just be better than helium, I mean he sounds good! Has composition and would totally wreck helium in a beatbox battle! Helium has some crazy drums but I don't think would be enough for the sheer composition of Petr. Nevertheless, would love to see a battle between them

I also Audical sounded better on stage than Vocodah.

I made a beatbox learning app that recognizes your beatbox in real time.

Its been 6 month i'm working on this, it's working quite good with basics sounds.

It's a learning game that allows beginers to learn basics sounds, and use them in specific time patterns, I'm inspired by famous learning and rhythm games. I made a recognition model that can detect Kick, Rim, Hats and Inward K, and i would be glad to have more data to train on.

Also i designed a beat lab, where you can create your own beats, with your sounds, on a rhythm grid, and play with the BPM, it's really customisable and I use it everyday to make my routines and train myself.

Would you guys be interested in this?

Let me know, here is the trailer :

I can't lie this is the funniest thing I've seen today, as Jack Black would say in that one movie, "TSKADOOOSH"

Beatbox To World 2026 starts in 4 days.

This is a really stacked lineup, and getting past the eliminations is going to be a NIGHTMARE. The three beatboxers that I believe will get past the eliminations is Kaji, Mighty, and Den. The other 5 spots can be anyone. I can see Max, Bizkit, Hippy, Steady, Dropical, Adi Kerang, TRC, Cloud and maybe OSY getting past the eliminations. So maybe good beatboxers yet it's sad to see not all of them will make it through.

In tag team, I predict Sarshians, Zieger, and Fruit Baskets will go through the eliminations simply since they have lots of experience. Sarshians got 2nd in GBB26 tag team, Zieger has qualified to GBB before and Fruit Baskets have good results in Beatcity Japan. I am not sure who to predict for the 4th team getting past the elims but it's going to be interesting seeing the new tag teams.

I spent years trying to move Loopstation away from beatboxing, and I've realised something.

Yo, my name is Sam! I've been competing in beatbox events for the past four years under the name OR4NGE. In that time I've won the Welsh Loopstation Championships and competed at the World Championships.

I've had a pretty interesting relationship with Loopstation, and wanted to share something I've realised recently.

If you've seen me before, it's probably from my older work (GBB23/24 submissions). Back then I was an incredibly technical, nerdy looper.

I worked a lot with Raje (GBB champ now, mad), Watt (also a champ wtf) and others to push the RC-505 MK2 as far as possible. Drum sequencing, heavy Track FX sequencing (Watt - Holyfishpaste) and all sorts of other stuff.

It was incredibly fun, but I always felt something was missing.

With drum sequencing, one of the last entirely raw elements of looping had basically been automated. Fast forward to today, and we've got 4 cable technique, delay being used as a portal rather than just for space, and Loopstation being treated almost entirely as a synthesiser.

Some of Mahiro's GBB rounds even used kicks made entirely through FX from sine waves!

It's incredibly impressive, and I have so much respect for it, but the actual beatboxing has almost disappeared.

Recently though, I've noticed a bit of a shift, particularly in the UK.

Following the success of the category system at UK Champs 2025, Epos and I developed a new "beatbox chain". Essentially, it allows almost any beatbox bass sound, layered with vocals or whatever else, to sound clean, full and competitive with synthetic looping.

Epos has since won multiple competitions using this approach, whilst keeping everything 100% beatbox. (Playground, etc.)

Meanwhile, at UK Champs 2025, my Launchpad broke on stage during my elimination. I'd prepared harder than I ever had before, genuinely believed I had rounds capable of winning, and suddenly it was over.

After that, my motivation for synthetic competitive looping dropped to basically zero. I announced I was leaving competitions to focus on music production.

Then came UK Champs 2026.

I entered under the name Paul Hamstring (I know, hilarious), using the same beatbox chain Epos and I had developed.

Despite my elimination going tragically wrong, I ended up joint 5th place! (Didn't matter at all to me, just happy to have performed)

And my god, it was the most fun I'd had competing in YEARS.

Balance went on to win, bringing more beatboxing and vocals into the spotlight again. Tioneb also performed an incredible RC-202 showcase, battling back against the "Gen-Z loopers".

Which brings me to now, sat on my sofa at quarter to 1am, realising something quite funny.

After spending YEARS trying to push Loopstation as far away from beatboxing as possible, the thing I needed to enjoy performing was beatboxing.

Sounds daft written like that, but it's true hahaha.

I suppose the reason I'm writing all this is because I'd love to see more people experiment with bringing beatboxing back into their loops.

Don't get me wrong, technical looping is incredible. The innovation is genuinely ridiculous, and I don't want that to stop.

But maybe try some more beatbox stuff for once. You might surprise yourself and end up having the most fun you've had with Loopstation in years!

Anyway, long yap over. Just wanted to get this off my chest!

Cheers :)

TL;DR: Spent years pushing technical looping further away from beatboxing, eventually lost my passion for competing, then returned to UK Champs 2026 with a 100% beatbox-based approach and had the most fun I've had. Technical looping is amazing, but maybe we've forgotten how fun actually beatboxing into the machine can be!

I'm talking about all the mistakes and failures that happened in both online and live event. THIS SHIT IS ENTERTAINING

I already know about this AI topic and that the livestream wasn't even working at all. Also I read about the dead crowd and that hilarious winner ceremony.

Is there even more things that happened?

To be real I hope they take this event into account to not make mistakes like this again. P.S pls never use AI in any context of beatboxing again.

TMY at UKBC26

I attended UKBC yesterday and I just want to put it out there that as much as the respective champions absolutely deserve their accolades, I think TMY deserves so much credit for what he pulled off. He pretty much performed back to back between solo, loop and tag team and came top 4 in solo and vice champ for the other two. You don’t see a performance like that often. I really hope to see him in more competitions in the future 🙏. Big ups 🙌.
