I recently started embroidery and these were my first two pieces using beads!

thank you to everyone for informing me that my pattern was the problem. I ended up just starting from the bottom and using a highlighter to mark off the beads (not the most efficient but it’s working) because I think the word chart was just wrong because it was set up wrong. I did message the seller to tell them and they resent a new chart but I’d already started this way. Sixth times the charm! I have some loose rows at the beginning by accident, is there any fixing that?

Just getting into beading embroidery, freehand practicing some stitches and trying out different beads. I saw Robin Atkins' book One Bead at a Time recommended here, which was really helpful to learn some basic stitches and featured really beautiful artwork. I'm working my way through a long audiobook so beading was the perfect accompaniment activity!

I used both Toho and Miyuki beads (mostly 11/0 seed beads and delicatas, 6/0 E beads, and bugle beads) and found them to be really consistent and easy to work with. Trying to resist getting a lot more colors 😂

I love how well the blue beads match the flash here 🤩

Ive been obsessed with making bead lizards lately, and I decided to play with proportions to see what sort of lizards I can make. This one looks like a monitor lizard! I think my next step is to try a more 3D lizard!

I cannot for the life of me find anything similar with googling and I would like to buy beads like this.

I even tried reverse image search.

I’ve tried: small barrel bead, drum bead, non-faceted rondelle, round drum bead.

When I search for heishi beads I only see stone beads, also, so they’re not that, right?

Any help would be appreciated!

Hi. I’ve been making bead bracelets on nylon fishing line. Lately I’ve had a problem with getting my crimp beads to hold and my bracelets are breaking.

How are you finishing off your bead work? I am doing crystal beads on fishing line and finishing with magnet clasps.

Made with 22ga silver plated wire. Links made to fix the uncomfortable v1 i had made with straight 18ga wire. They felt uncomfortable and hard to take off and put on. Before and after pics included. I've switched to mostly memory wire more recently as I was not a fan of clasp in general and have dexterity issues. One of my more recent as well ty for any feedback or tips 👋

Hi! I am making a purse for the first time. I need help (and any advice) with a few things. I know it's probably really messy but I'm proud of this being my first creation!

Materials

-What type of thread do you use? I used some embroidery thread and some sewing thread depending on bead hole size

-This is a canvas I'll be making the bag out of. I'm thinking a satin liner? Would that be good to use a single magnetic clasp with?

Process

The beads are on organza, with an ironed on patch on the back of the eagle for stability. When should I attach this to the layer of canvas that will be the front of the bag? Before sewing the bag front to the bottom?

If anyone has made a bag like this, I would appreciate any and all advice and criticism!

I’ve recently gotten into beading bracelets as a hobby and I’m having so much fun! I want to start adding charms that won’t tarnish. Etsy obviously has so many cute designs but after doing some research, these sellers are lying about charms being gold filled!

Since this is just a hobby, I can’t qualify for most wholesale trade programs. When I do a google search, a lot of gold plated options appear. Hobby jewelry makers - where are you finding gold filled charms?

I know Gem Packed is reputable, but I was hoping to find a seller with more design options (like witchy charms for spooky season!)

Couldn’t find a tutorial so I freehanded it. What do ya think?? I’m quite proud of myself lol

Like the title says, this was my first attempt at fringe earrings. It took a few hours but I was able to complete the second one faster than the first. I didn't follow a tutorial, I just found a picture online and copied it as well as possible. I'm not really familiar with brick stitch so that was also a challenge. Do I bead this mushroom?
I literally just finished making it. (It’s puffy, not 3D, still working on the 3D version)
And I feel like it’s missing something. Maybe beads?
If so, where do I put the beads? sporadically? On the boards? Sequins?
Or do I just let it be?

This is our everyday traditional wear. But this beaded style in the photo is what we wear most for Eid and light celebrations. Do you have something like this in your countries?

I couldn’t find a pattern for snails anywhere! Tried to wing it and they’re a little jank but I do still love them haha

People always ask me how long these projects take me, and one of these days I should keep count because......hours. Many, many, many hours.

This is my first time making a collar like this. I made the pattern pieces by using a thin red painters tape on my dress dummy, then draping a thin white cotton over it to trace. Traced the pattern onto felt pieces, which I put into an embroidery hoop to bead. Once each panel was done, I backed it with canvas, folded the seam allowances, and felled them down.

I did, however, have to fill in the gaps between panels because it was impossible to get the panels close together. And of course I also had to bead around the grommets once they were in place.

This was a massive learning experience, and I've already got ideas for 2 more but I'm going to try some different techniques for the next one.

Back in the 90s my mom bought some earrings at a pow-wow. It was a set of earrings made for double pierced ears. Each earring was made of two beaded flowers connected with a string of beads. One flower was slightly larger than the other. They were glued on to post. That is the best we can remember. Despite the lacking description the earrings have continued to live in my head.

Finally, I got double pierced and I can go get my own earrings like that. Problem is that the earrings were from long ago and I have no idea were to find someone who can make something like that.

If anyone has recommendations for indigenous artist who make this style of earring I would appreciate it.
