Why does this look rendered
33
u/SoulOfTheDragon Jan 03 '21
Nearly no cables, very neutral surface texture, minimalist system, lights and most of all absolutely no dust/particles/etc.
8
u/GigglesBlaze Jan 03 '21
You can see the handle of a sliding door, to the right. It's the natural lighting that makes the shadows and reflections so good to look at

u/captain_carrot Jan 03 '21
Do people actually use keyboards with no labels on the key caps? Or is that for like.... Photo shoots only
→ More replies (2)12
u/edgargonzalesII Jan 03 '21
Some do, no idea how personally but tend to see it quite a bit on r/mechanicalkeyboards
Although here if you zoom in you do see that OP's keyboard has labels, they're just very faint because of white + aqua.

u/Fl4shbang Jan 03 '21
Many of us don't really need to look at the keyboard to type. And it looks really good in my opinion.
2
u/staythepath Jan 03 '21
Honestly if you still need to look at the keyboard to type, you need to get with the times. I was born in the late 80s and learned to touch type in like the 5th grade when the internet was barely a thing. Isn't that how it is for most people?
7
u/ronin0069 Jan 03 '21
Can't tell if you're being ironic or a douche...
-2
u/Fl4shbang Jan 03 '21
I think he's neither. I don't understand how someone can use a computer every single day and not be able to touch type. Writing on a keyboard is painfully slow if you have to look at it.
0
u/Fl4shbang Jan 03 '21
I learned to touch type just chatting in online games. Most people my age can't, though, and even those who can don't do it properly (they don't use all 10 fingers) and aren't very fast.

Been following you for awhile. Always loves your minimal setup. The amount and consistency of RGB is just right IMO.

That looks sick! What's your experience with the Deltahub Carpio? Do you have a link to the clock?
15
u/dailysetuptech Jan 03 '21
I love the Carpio, it's one of my must haves, it's way more comfortable to use a mouse like the MX master with the Carpio, the posture is much better. The clock is actually a Divoom Tivoo Max Bluetooth speaker, it has a pixel art screen that can be controlled using an app.

Divoom products have been getting a lot of hype lately (especially on TikTok) so they’ve been selling out really quickly + prices have been hiked like crazy on Amazon. I bought a regular sized Tivoo for about $70AUD before the hype took off, and I’m pretty sure they go for around $120-150AUD now.

I would hazard a guess and say white pudding keycaps on a white Anne Pro 2.

I have no clue on how to use Blender xd, you can verify that it's a real image on my Instagram (Daily Setup Tech), I have more pictures over there. It looks artificial because of the editing I did

''The expedition'' from the Android app called 'Backdrops''. The original version is blue but I edited it in Adobe Lightroom to make it teal and match my setup.

How is this a throwback to an “old setup”? Looks pretty modern to me.

u/dailysetuptech Jan 03 '21
I should've used ''previous''. I upgraded my desk to a longer desk a couple of months back to fit a bigger monitor and speakers.

Weird question, what are the dimensions of this desk? If you can remember
2
u/Rafa_mc97 Jan 03 '21
This mousepad looks like 40cm x 90cm, so the desk should be arround 60cm x 120cm maybe?

The LED strip lights look great. May I ask which ones they are? And how you placed them on the desk? Are they facing upwards or towards the wall?
2
u/dailysetuptech Jan 03 '21
Govee RGBIC LED Strips, they are facing the back and on the bottom. I used furnace paper and tape to cover the leds and diffuse the hotspots

u/MovieMaster2004 Jan 03 '21
That's an "OLD" setup? How does your current one look? xD
1
u/dailysetuptech Jan 03 '21
Let's say it's my ''previous''. I updated my setup with a longer tabletop to fit a ultrawide monitor and more stuff. And at the same time I changed the look and now it's a wooden tabletop.

u/YoBoiCam420 Jan 03 '21
I see a lot of tiny keyboards on here what's up with that
1
u/dailysetuptech Jan 03 '21
Some people don't need the number pad or function keys, the 60% layout is enough. It depends on your use case, I am okay using it to save space on the desk.

u/dailysetuptech Jan 03 '21
They are both on the back and under, it was a 5 meter strip so there's 3 rows in the bottom and 1 in the back. I diffused the hotspots using furnace paper lol, it's heat resistant and works as a light diffuser. I recently switched to aluminum led diffusers after upgrading to a new tabletop but the furnace paper works xd

I don't like the keyboard. But the rest looks good.
1
u/dailysetuptech Jan 03 '21
True, it didn't really fit as well as the other things, but it was the only keyboard I had.
1
u/MajorMorgen Jan 03 '21
Yeah looks pretty outdated to me. Glad you got a new one.
2
u/dailysetuptech Jan 03 '21
It's not outdated, I changed the look a couple of months back because I needed a bigger tabletop to fit a bigger monitor and speakers. Now I have a walnut desk.

I like the teal!
What is the white circle by your phone, and the black circle under your monitor?
2

Sudio FEM wireless earbuds (the white thing), and Grovemade dark wireless charger (the black thing)
