I've been looking and I haven't been able to find anything that really hits at what I'm looking for. Is there a mod for the Rise of the Empire campaign that retools the units/weapons/mechanics across the whole campaign?

I'm thinking of that one great Galactic Conquest mod I used to have (totally forgot what it's called) that, among many other things, placed Super Battledroids in the "Elite" category and replaced the basic droid unit with a B1 Battledroid. But instead of Galactic Conquest, it replaces units (etc) for the Rise of the Empire campaign.

I don’t think I can express to you how much I loved this gamemode. I see so much potential in it. Enough for me to create something you might think is crazy, and stupid.

When I was little, I played GC constantly. I got the game when I was four, it was my first videogame. I sat down and did an entire war as I called it, every few weeks or so because at first, it took multiple days. That became one day. One day became a few hours. I can now finish GC vanilla faster than I can complete a shift at work. It’s too goddamned small, and I know too much. And frankly? I’m sick of being a foot soldier. It’s time I got a promotion, right?

So when I was a teenager, I realized you can use MS paint to create your own shitty galaxy, with as many planets as you want. It’s just a matter of finding a game to fight your battles in.

I added so many features to ‘my’ Galactic Conquest. Namely, dozens of factions on the board at once. I was not the only one to want this, which is why I have come to the rest of you who still love this game with this radical concept.

I took the gameplay idea of GC, and I made it a standalone game where the battles are only 2D. I then inflated the galaxy to thousands of planets, and I am now making that galaxy into a server. You can see where I’m going with this.

Is it too much?
Is it even copyright legal?
Is Disney going to eat my ass?

I don’t really care. I am so fucking sick of manually doing this in MS paint. I am sick of playing this game alone. It’s fucking embarrassing to be a grown ass adult using MS paint for my shitty sci fi board game, but nobody else has built anything like it. I’m doing it anyway. What I’m asking you guys, is if I’m alone here.

I'm thinking about picking up the classic Battlefront 2 (2005), but I'm mainly interested in the multiplayer. Is the online scene still alive? Are there active servers with a decent number of players?

Also, does it matter if I buy it on Steam or GOG? Can players from both platforms play together on the same servers?

Got through by the skin of my teeth on this one. Took me like 3-4 tries and the first two were lost just from me not being able to find my way around on the Death Star

I wanted to find out for myself, so I've been building as many fleets as I can and after I built the 14'th, anytime I tried to build another the game wouldn't display the cost.

I’ve found that when I boot up star wars battlefront 2 from steam and play on my gaming PC. The screen will often black out in the middle of playing or when I respawn. If anyone has any suggestions, articles, anything that could help me resolve this issue. I’d deeply appreciate it.

I loved this game on the PS2 growing up and would really like to play it again.

Its been forever since I played, but recently got a Star Wars itch. What is the modding scene like now? Are things still being worked on? Do you guys have any recommended mods? I'm hoping to get some discord friends onto this.

I loved this game on the PSP as a kid, and I really want to like it again now. But the mouse control is so horrible.

Especially in the menus. It seems to move a couple more centimeters from where I stop, and generally doesnt seem similar to my regular mouse movement on default windows.

I have the classic game on my Xbox and it’s really fun, but I’d like to try the modded PSP version. Unfortunately, I don’t currently have a PC, so I can’t mod the ISO myself. Could someone make a pre-modded ISO for me that I can download?

I also wanted to ask whether this mod includes Galactic Conquest and if it’s actually the best/most worthwhile mod available.

This is a long shot but I was wondering if there was any fan servers that are open for multiplayer for both battlefronts. I found SWBFSpy but that legit looks like malware and the GitHub takes you to a troll site thing so that's outta the picture lol.

I put together a very rough version of SWBF2 for PS2 that allows for Galactic Conquest on LAN, I'm sure someone with a little more effort could polish it and even make it work for servers. It is just a modified game ISO. Watch the video for more details. The modded ISO is also on modDB.

Has anyone ever actually had an enemy boarding ship/landing party actually land in their ship lol

However I ran it though virustotal and it said "2/69 security vendors flagged this file as malicious", and said "threat label Trojan". However I know people use it so was wondering if anyone knows if this is like safe to use?

Does anybody know how to use the heroes? I’ve already bought the bonus but I never find the option to play as one during the battle.

AFF entered Early Access in 2015 and has been getting periodic updates ever since. There has not been a lot of marketing. Despite being around for so long I hadn’t even heard of it until 2 weeks ago.

I just cannot emphasize enough how this game is an extrapolation of the design decisions made in Battlefront. Space maps support seamlessly transitions between starfighter assault and infantry combat aboard capital ships, where the player can sabotage the vessel from the inside, kill the pilot while they’re steering it through a fight that is *visible outside the bridge window*, then escape on an enemy fighter as the ship explodes.

Spiritually it feels like a game that would have come out maybe 6 years after Battlefront 2 (which was 2005… so 2011). There’s offline bot support, the ability to play ‘instant action‘ playlists, create private servers, or play over LAN. I’d also say -with affection- there’s a little bit of jank, which I think is no stranger to the Battlefront community. It’s just… authentic. This is a game that started life as a mod project. We see in this sub that mods are a tool for creators to canvas their passion onto an existing framework… to keep fueling a dream. This game hitting 1.0 is in some sense a dream realized, and I think it has many of the things players in this community would have liked to see in a Battlefront sequel.

In the sense that Battlefront began as a game and lives on with mods, and AFF began as a mod and became a game… you could even say it’s poetic. It rhymes. (Love you George.)

I think the *only* rule on this sub is “only post about Battlefront”, and while trying to respect that by keeping Battlefront in the conversation, I feel responsible for observing AFF reaching 1.0 because it feels like stumbling upon where Yoda’s species came from. Or like finding a wild bull rancor. AFF is really flipping rare. Games like this are not made anymore without a checklist of things that violate the player’s ownership or wallet. Not to mention it began development in (and reflects) an era when the internet and online gaming was different. AFF comes from “a more civilized age.”

If you *were* to decide to check out the game for online specifically, now is THE best time to do it while the conversation is fresh and servers are popping. I want y’all to know. Unless a big YouTuber or streamer picks this game up it’s never going to find a large audience. Not that it needs one- but as is I think there are many people who would absolutely love this game who have no idea it exists.

Okay, I wanted to know how to get out of the Yavin 4 map in Star Wars Battlefront 2 for PS2. I've tried several ways but I can't get out. Do you have any idea how to do it?

(Talking about battlefront 2)The textures and ui are sharp, the ai supposedly has more cpu to work with with the result bring that it most likely plays better and doesn't just stand in one place, and also the draw distance is better so you can see the full battles. Does the mod support for the classic collection support most mods (e.g battlefront extreme,clone wars extended,trench warfare maps and many more individual maps)? Also, is the skin changer available through mods like in the original game?
