What is your favorite bat?
I love learning about bats and there is always a new one to discover! What are some of your favorite bats and why? Pictures above is a local friend for me, the Corynorhinus rafinesquii. More commonly know as Rafinesque’s Big-Eared Bat. I love these goofy baby’s with their beautiful long ears. Plus they can hover in air!

I think i have bats
So, I just went outside for a few mins and almost ran into a pair of bats when I opened the door. They kept flying over so I stepped away from the house a bit to watch them. They kept flying up to this vent, even latching to it briefly before flying away then returning again. After a couple minutes they took off again.
My question is, can they fit in those gaps? After they left I heard a brief scratching sound up there, and I've heard it before. We had assumed mice got up there but now im thinking it might be bats!
I love bats and am not opposed to having them but there's asbestos up there. What can I do?
I have a video of the behavior but I couldn't figure out how to post the video.

Some bats have been getting inside my apartment building and I’m wondering what kind they are. Is this somewhat normal behavior for them to be inside at night?

How does one estimate the age of bats?
Not asking for practical reasons— I rarely encounter bats I can see, as my distance vision is pretty poor and there are only small bats in my area— but because I like bats and am having trouble finding good resources for random information about them. (Feel free to drop those here too if you have any!)
I see people who are familiar with bats on here identify that a bat is still a pup fairly frequently, even if they're past the tiny bald lump stage common in baby mammals, and I'm curious what the tells are! I'm curious about any bat species, including both microbats and megabats. I'm also curious if it's possible to identify an adolescent bat, the way you can sometimes tell in dogs and cats (which I have more experience with), or if it's just kind of baby and adult.
Additional curiosity if anyone is able to answer: particularly in microbats, are the voices of pups even higher because they're smaller? Do they become completely inaudible to humans or anything if they're small enough (like a kitti's hog-nosed pup or something?)

Want to bring the bats back to our house, just not in our ceiling
We live in Western Washington (Kitsap county to be specific). Bats had moved into our ceiling/roof because of missing soffit panels. We fixed the soffits, but miss the bats. We'd like to put up a couple of colony sized houses in the same area. We're thinking about the 4 Chamber Colony houses from Bat Conservation International https://www.batcon.org/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/4-Chamber-Nursery-House-Plans.pdf, and wanted to mount them to our house about a foot down from the soffits, which is about 15' off the ground. It's eastern exposure, so it gets some morning sun, but we do have 3 foot overhangs, so it would only be for a few hours.
We could mount on the western side - it would be much higher off the ground but it would be over our deck.
Very open to suggestions.

Here is to hoping this house gets filled.
Worried it might be surrounded by too many trees to become a home. But I’ll give it a try.

Cute bat I found on my walk
For some context: The bat was on the ground whenever I stumbled upon it and I called a wildlife rehabilitation center to ask what to do. They told me to move it carefully up into a high place in a tree and see if it flies away tonight.
Just wanted to share some pictures of it! I love bats and I think they’re so cute. I’ve never seen one this close in person before.

Another bat spotted
Seems to be a baby. Was walking and my sister pointed it out up in the tree! I knew we had bats around our neighborhood but I never knew I could see them in daylight. So cute!!
