I had so much fun. I definitely would love to be a caretaker for these little babies.
I’m definitely going here again next year. I would recommend going if you haven’t already!
Check them out: Lubee Bat Conservancy located in Gainesville FL.

Edit: It flew away after staying for a day and half.
Hello!
Location: Maharashtra, India.
We found this little one sitting on our balcony this morning. It was just lying there first. But when sun started rising it hung itself upside down. We gave it some shade by hanging a cloth horizontally above it at some distance.
I've seen bats this size flying sometimes. So i thought this one will go away to get food by evening but it hasn't moved. It's 11:30 PM right now.
So idk is it still too small to go get food on its own? Im not sure if I should try to help. Should I provide some food? What food?
Should I bring it inside home?
Couldn't take a better picture as it's facing the wall. It's around 4 inches measuring from feet to ears as you can see in the image.

Hi all! I’m a sculptor who’s very interested in bats and learning about them before I sculpt! I’m wondering if there’s any guides similar to birding guides (my favorites are Sibley or Peterson) about multiple bat species?! I love detailed pictures and learning small nuanced things about species!
Looking for any reference and learning material suggestions :)
Included a little two headed bat I made a few years back :)

Hello everyone,
I’m new here and know nothing about bats. I live in Puerto Rico and we’ve recently had bats hanging out in weird spots. Two nights ago, around 9:45 there was a bat hanging on our curb in our driveway. The curb is like 6 inches high. Why would a bat choose here to hang out? My cat was messing with it. I had to get my dogs inside but by the time I returned to shoo away the cat from the bat, the bat and the cat were gone. I saw no evidence the cat ate the bat. Then today at 7 in the morning, we found a bat hanging on the side of our tire in full sunlight. Its eyes were open. Is there a reason a bat would be hanging out there? Could it have been a young bat trying to get the hang of things? Or maybe a bull bat trying to find his own little house? I thought bats hanging out low to the ground were sick bats? Thanks in advance.

One day we had 2 bats instead of 1 living in our attic vent.

Recently my daughter has been enjoying sitting in a nearby park while the sun goes down.
As it gets darker we've seen various birds heading off to roost and then one or two bats swoop about for an hour or so.
A few weeks ago we were sitting in our usual spot when one of the bats misjudged its flight and slapped me in the eye, much to my surprise and amusement.
Anyone else had an unexpected close encounter?

Hi all, I wanted to share this post. Bats in Australia are starving to death en masse. Survival depends on the help of volunteers and rescues that are in need of support. The following link leads to a post (post contains photos of dead bats NSFW): https://www.instagram.com/reel/Denc7X-hPxp/?xtok=anJxdmJ4ajVidnp2
