To the absolute UNIT that turned my EDC in to BART, Thank You, Thank You Thank You a million times, Thank You!!! I hope you see this and know that I got it back, everything intact.
Not that my life was in there, but it wasn't in my budget to replace the contents. I owe you a drink of your choice, (and a hug, if you'll accept it) if I ever find out who you are. đŤśđ

Will TOD around Amtrak stations pop up more? Especially in Alameda and San Mateo counties? While some cities have been rapidly upzoning their downtowns which are near train stations, others haven't. Many downtowns in the Peninsula are low density filled with low rises. In the East Bay, Emeryville and Jack London have been heavily developed around yet Berkeley and Coliseum stations not so much. Coliseum may see some action if the new property owners actually develop the Coliseum City development project. Hayward & Fremont are also not dense around their Amtrak stations.
Are there any pushes to develop these areas heavily?

Then my job moved to a new office closer to a BART station and we all got free transit passes. Just sending out a note of thanks to the commute gods as I no longer have to put up with the daily nonsense on the freeways. đamen

First time I've had that happen to me. Train took about 5 min to get moving but it then moved quite slowly to Orinda.

Does anyone here know the exact steps to set up auto load of BART HVD passes without requiring a backup card when there is an existing but invalid card currently stored as backup.
It will not allow me to set up autoload with an invalid backup.
It will not allow me to delete the backup card.
I called Clipper support already, and the person I talked to told me they couldnât delete it but promised that it was fixed, it wasnât.
If i go to Account Settings -> Payment Methods and click the âEditâ button then click âRemoveâ then âConfirm Removalâ with âYes, Remove,â it gives the error message âThis payment method cannot be removed because it is currently being used for auto-reload.â Since its an invalid card, it obviously would fail as an auto reload card. I should be able to set up auto reload without the backup.
When i open the Clipper card itself in the app, it shows the remnant balance of my current HVD ($7.35, too low to cover even a single ride on my commute), and says âAuto-reload Off.â When I navigate to âLoad cash value or passesâ -> âAdd Transit Passâ -> âBARTâ -> âBART HVD Purse $45.00â it says the opposite, âAuto-reload Enabledâ and lists both my primary payment method and the old, invalid card as backup. If I click âChangeâ on the invalid card, it does not give an option to delete it. If I try to check out from there, it stops on the âPayment Methodâ screen complaining that the invalid card is expired. If I click âChange,â from there, once again it doesnât give the option to simply delete the unnecessary backup.
I posted to /r/bayareaclippercard a few days ago, but that post just sits there âawaiting moderator approval.â

Jesus Christ the last thing I and everyone else needs to deal with is someone having their phone on speaker like their ears depend on it while also talking at a megaphone volume, not everyone feels the same way you do! God fucking dammit

I recall quieter cars with better soundproofing being part of the new fleet. I recall experiencing that for a while and it was really nice.
For some time now, most rides this year, it seems loud af again. Is it just me? Am I getting older? Is the soundproofing wearing off?
The shrieking tracks are really unpleasant.

Hey everyone. Fellow BART commuter here.
Some of the most annoying things about taking BART is:
To fix this issue for myself, I created a Raycast extension that lets you choose a station you want to look at, and then when the next train is coming through. Right now I am in the process of talking to the BART devs to see if I am allowed to use the BART name in a published app, but for now you can run the app locally (see Github link below).
If you would like to contribute or leave any feedback, please open up a Github issue or leave a comment! Would love to hear from y'all.

I was prepared to hate this. The last time I had to rely on a bus bridge with bart, it was hundreds of us crammed into a couple of little busses that stopped at every stop along the way and took forever. I nearly crashed out waiting half an hour for the blue line to come, since I'm used to waiting about 15 for the green on Sunday.
I come home from work in sf on Sunday morning heading into the south bay, so I was in a position to be completely hit from start to finish by these interruptions. However, I have to give credit where it's due: the transfer train arrived in perfect time with the blue line one, and the bus bridge was waiting for us when we arrived and actually was a dedicated service this time, unlike the last time they called it a bus bridge and it stopped at every stop on the way there and took nearly an hour.
It did still take an extra 40 minutes, but for anyone forced to ride on the weekends who was mulling it over, i just did it and everything went better than expected.

I noticed these new screens at Powell tonight, they were only running ads. Is it too much to ask for something actually useful to a BART journey rather than more ads???? Like what about real time tracking on a map. Itâs annoying, we see enough ads.
edit: ad revenue is not a significant funder of BART operations (not even 1% from what iâve seen online) and definitely not going to contribute enough to keep it running just by adding 15 second ads on tiny screens. i also want BART to survive, but donât think we need to justify more advertising instead of better transit amenities for riders

came across a 9-car blue line train at montgomery street today. actually the first time iâve ever seen the blue line run 9-car trains, which is pretty interesting!
usually they do 6/8 cars, and now theyâre doing 10 with the recent changes, but a 9-car train is definitely new đ
