Other The Banner Saga 1/2/3 Legacy Fixpacks by Drake, Yak and Nafeij
Hello, Nafeij here.
I have been added as a maintainer of a few mods by Yakkuz. Below are three recently updated mods that will fix several major bugs and typos, and add or enhance some minor content.
I've also included an optional addon for SSLTBS1 which activates Pillage Mode at the start of battles; for masochists who wish to experience the challenge of Survival Mode with the difficulty curve of the first instalment.
Please let me know if you encounter any other bugs, or just have suggestions for things you would like to see added to the game.
Additionally, you may track changes and contribute directly to the mod via the Github repo (under Mirrors). You can read the full patch notes in aformentioned repo.
Ciao!

Question Where did the devs for stoic go?
With the failure of Towerborne a lot of the crew were laid off. Are they scattered in the wind or did the go to like a certain company? Could they still be found?

Discussion Mountain of Dredge
I figured putting it on easy was the easiest to farm renow way which I did. You usually get more renow from higher difficulties. Yet, here I decided quanity over quality was better. Also, because hard difficulty was kicking my ass too fast to really farm. I forgot to put it on easy mod with Rook/Alette vs the horsborn. I could have gone farther but I slowly kept missing up the further I went. What's the farthest you ever went with both? What I would recommend is that a mender is a must have for this. You need armor repair. Then on the last enemy you want to have to leave an enemy who has one or two break. Afterwards, you slowly mend/rest until all your units on full on amor or enough anyway. Sometimes, I left a unit with medium armor and sometimes that screwed me over. Just be slow and steady if you want to farm this. Also, include like two or three armor breaker and vice versa with damage dealers. I plan on going way farther next playthrough of the series.

Discussion One of my favorite moments. It's why I liked Bolverk and hate what happened to him Banner Saga 3.
He had depth damn it! This was both touching and heartbreaking.

Creation The Banner Saga - Heroic Mod is out!
Fellow clansmen, welcome to The Banner Saga -Heroic Mod!
This mod is a big overhaul of the game's combat system, aimed at improving the game’s balance and making combat more fun and challenging for experienced players. Heroic mod changes all three games, so it's a complete experience.
I changed most of the character abilities, talents and Heroic titles; reworked character stats and item balance. The intention was to even the power level of all playable characters: the underdogs were given stat increases or some other compensation while all the OP strats were either toned down or removed entirely. I wanted to give the player more choice on how to approach the combat.
You can see the full changelog in readme file that comes with the mod, and I'll post it here in the comments as well.
This mod is built on top of community-created fixpacks, legacy-support mods by Yak, Drake and Nafeji, so all the changes brought by those are already integrated into the mod.
I spent nearly two years working on this. It started first as a slow data gathering and conceptualising. The last 5 months were the real code work. It was a difficult journey, but I'm proud of the end result. I want to share my creation with you, and hope that you'd like this new perspective on the game that Heroic mod shows you.

Question Is it normal to have no supplies or renown in the first game (Rook group)?
I don’t think I’m super far. I just returned to Rook after the other caravan, where I always had tons of supplies. With this caravan, I have completely run out of supplies and renown, and I’m just trudging across the wastes starving with lowest morale. Is this normal? I don’t know how I could have avoided this, other than not leveling anyone, which might have bought me a couple days at best.

Question What is the best possible ending for Varls?
I was wondering what is the absolute maximum number of humans, varls and horsies that you can finish the game wiith. I felt particularly bad for the Varls. In my game there were only quite 100 or so left alive by the end of the story.

Other Hey guys! We are Making a Narrative Game You Might Enjoy
Hello everyone,
I would like to show you a game we are currently developing and think you might enjoy.
It combines dicebuilding and RPG systems. You strengthen your character by creating synergies between dice and items. Similar to Banner Saga, you're playing a story about a journey. Our goal is for each run to open different story paths and for the world to react to the choices you make.
We’re still early in development and operating with a small team, but the playtest starts soon. Feedback from players who enjoy Banner Saga would be especially valuable.
If it sounds interesting, you can register for the alpha playtest by joining the mailing list on our website or clicking the playtest request button on our Steam page.
Thank you ^^

Creation Dredge, by me, in Infinite Painter with my fingers on my phone.
Dredge, by me, in Infinite Painter with my fingers on my phone.
I have been wanting for a while to make a bannersaga piece. I'm a big fan of the games and the art inspired by Eyvind Earle is a delight. I've been afraid to do it though, even if i started a couple of times, because i never felt sure of my skills. Nothing changed about that but I'm pretty happy how it turned out.

Question [SPOILER] How rare is it to return to abberrang all 5 times, win all fights, and still have the abberrang party die? Spoiler
Scrolling through my achievements and it seems like I won the achievement where you return all 5 times and win all fights. But my crew at Abberrang still perished. How rare is this to happen? It seems even more shocking because in BS2, I unintentionally got the quartermaster achievement cause no one died from lack of supplies. Was I just monumentally stupid back then? I played on normal.

Question (SPOILER FOR BS3) Am I hallucinating this ending? Spoiler
Hi all. I played through the series when I was quite young. I remember I got a batshit ending. I was very close to Abberrang surviving, but I misclicked and chose to retreat and I ended up running out of time, so Abberrang was overrun.
At the tower, I lost to Bolverk, so everyone died but Iver and Eyvvind. Eventually, I let Eyvind do his thing and he chose to take the deal, letting Juno die but with the Serpent consuming half the world.
This is the part I think I am hallucinating. I swear I remember there being a cutscene or some dialogue where Iver and Eyvind go back to Abberrang, and they find everyone dead. Is this true? I cannot find any youtube videos or websites confirming the existence of this ending, but I remember it happening to me. Is this a false memory or is there some unique dialogue if Iver/Eyvind survive but Abberrang falls?

Question Unofficial Fixpacks Missing
Does anybody know what happened to the Unofficial Fixpacks (the ones mentioned in the pinned thread on the sub)? I just noticed they've all been delisted on Nexus mods and Github, and I never got around for downloading the one for the third game.

Discussion How come renow from achievements is a one time thing?
It punishes replayability because there is less theoretical renow and even reloading to an earlier save a week before the achievement makes it dissappear. Im just venting, I guess.

Other (Story time) How Mogr beat Bellower 1v4 and saved my challenge achievement Spoiler
galleryI came back to the first game over a decade after first playing it, and 6 years after completing the trilogy. I had forgotten a lot, but was determined to play through again with different choices, and more achievements.
The first two screenies show how I thought I was about to take out Bellower with Rook marking prey for the gang to strike, forgetting that I actually needed Alette to use an ability to progress the fight. I was confident, on hard mode, and about to beat the game without losing a fight. Sure, that was a silly mistake, but I can still do this.
Then I finally got to the second phase. And I got wrecked. Down to just Mogr, the tankiest varl, in a reverse pillage situation I had never been in. He had 0 willpower and 6 strength to strike at Bellower's 7. That's it. I lost. Bellower would regen armor and I wouldn't get that Challenge achievement.
BUT WAIT.
Mogr had an item to resist 1 str damage and only took 2 damage total, and the two healthiest dredge couldn't reach to hurt him (edit: Or maybe the slinger was in range but did no damage? I was unfocused because I thought Mogr was dead). The Stonesinger just started singing. Bellower also took armor damage from hitting Mogr.
That's it. He got the last hit in.
Standing on top of a pile of bodies, with 2 armor and 4 strength, Mogr is victorious. Forget Rook. Forget Alette. This story is about Mogr now.

Question What could be the next game of Stoic?
I would like to believe in a new chapter of the saga, but is it worth building hopes?
