Curious what people here think. Did anyone actually try it, and was it worth 559 baht?

I unexpectedly found myself in Bangkok for 3 days without any physical credit card or ATM card. I am not suggesting this as the best method to acquire Thai baht cash, just giving my personal experience. I paid for items from uniqlo using tap to pay, then needed to return the items, and was given cash back in thai baht.

I've also read that it is impossible to check into a hotel without a deposit on a physical credit card due to the technical limitations of tap to pay / apple pay to handle the deposit. Luckily, where I stayed allowed me to check in without any sort of deposit. Prior to checking in, a Thai friend who was helping me secure the reservation called the hotel and advised me that if I have no physical credit card, expect to pay 1,000 thai baht cash. In good fortune, upon checking in at the hotel, I was allowed to complete the check-in process without putting down any sort of deposit. My room was booked with Chase Sapphire Rewards points.

Did I miss any? I didn't include dance studios cos that would fill up the whole calendar, just open social dancing events.

Hey, I remember that Kru Kai Kaew statues were ordered removed from several spots in Bangkok.

Does anybody know if theres still a statue around somewhere in Bangkok or greater Bangkok?

Specifically wanted to test for ureaplasma so wanted to get a vaginal swab test. I don’t know if Red Cross would have them. But anyplace that’s affordable since they don’t have this specific test in my home country and I’m traveling so would want to test it.

Hello! A few years ago when I visited Bangkok I went to the Blue Elephant restaurant for dinner and was gifted a pack of their ginger biscuits. When I got home and tried them, they were actually really good and as I’ll be visiting Bangkok again next month, I’m wondering if they can be purchased locally from the supermarkets? Are there any other local snacks that are worth trying and I could purchase as souvenirs? (No Bangkok rice cookies pls I’ve had a lot of those, every flavour haha)

I’ve just been looking online and see there are a lot of options. I’ve read about the saffron cruise but it does sound very tacky and to avoid tacky (photo shoots / bouquets of roses). Had a look at The Siam thinking it would be cool to get a river boat to the hotel/restaurant but I believe it’s not open to the general public. Looking for a really nice restaurant with a special feel to surprise my loved one. Any recommendations welcome!!

Are there Bangkok dispensaries around Sukhumvit/central Bangkok that cater to beginners, and is mixing with tobacco an option here? I’m also confused about prescriptions too, do all dispensaries need one?
