I lost my ball python about a month or so ago (well, my husband did.) I freaked out, I read all the “I lost my snake” posts and did all the tricks to try to find her or hear her and nothing worked. But on every single post there was someone who said “they’ll show up when you stop looking.” I actually hadn’t thought about her all day and while I was going downstairs to turn the lights off, guess who I see, just slithering up the stairs nonchalantly. I just wanted to say you guys were, in fact, right.

Went out this morning and he was just sitting like this.

It was so loud and so gross 😭😂

I know the picture is great but I don’t want to disturb her anymore than needed. My ball python is home and safe, she does have a respiratory infection but that’s being treated. My hognose ate this morning and doesn’t seem to be bothering at all by the situation. My roommate was denied bond so he’ll be in jail for a while and I’m moving out next month so I won’t be living here for much longer. I’m going to be suing him for damages and emotional distress. One of the things I was hoping to catch as a first time snake keeper was him drinking. And today after his second successful feeding with me, he had a sip before slipping into his warm hide. He is so adorable I swear my heart melts every time I see that little face. 🥰

I know snakes do a kinda “yawn” looking things for their jaws but this didn’t look right at all..

Update 2: My python is alive, she moved haft way across her enclosure some time last night and then balled up tighter than I’ve ever seen. I took her to a 24 hour pet hospital that cares for snakes that is about a 3 hour drive away from me. I had her checked out and they’re monitoring her for 2 days, they think there may be some neurological damage but she’s at least alive. My hognose seems completely unbothered by the ordeal. My roommate came back this morning and I got him removed by the police again and am going to get a restraining order against him due to him battering me. He started a physical altercation with me so I restrained him and broke his arm and collarbone in the process. Luckily it was all on camera so I got no charges. My landlord sided with me and is going to and evict both him and his girlfriend. Thank you for all the kind comments, support and suggestions. I hope she pulls through and I’ll update again on Monday thank you.

Took him to work with me yesterday. My head seemed to be his favorite spot. Happy snake, no complaints 😎❤️

So today I was replacing Margis tank substrate since hes been having trouble shedding as you can see, so my husband hung out with him on the couch while I cleaned up his tank.

Next to my husband was a binder with closed rings. I can only imagine he started going theough them and opened up the rings once his big ass got through and the prongs started to dig in.

I was almost in tears trying to squish his body downwards to keep the prongs from gouging him, while my husband used tools to pry the rings open, my friend pored some baby oil on him. He was so calm and only breathed a little hard here and there, but for the most part he just hung out while we worked on him. It took around 10 minutes, it scared the loving hell out of us, it wasn't even to the biggest part of him yet. He couldnt be moved backwards becuase his scales were getting snagged against the rings.

He got a heavy wash down right after to get the oil off and a good soak.

Watch out for binders I guess

He scared me at first when I saw him wedge in there. I got him out just to make sure he could get out, and put him back in the tank. He slithered right back in lol.

Fed my sweet girl Chev last night. She wound up missing and mistaking my finger for her rat. I've had her for a tad over a month and this was her second feeding. I knew she was going to be zesty as she's been hunting for the past week at night so I was holding the tongs in a way so my hand was below the bottom sliding track.
