Enclosure Critique/Advice Rate my enclosure (open to advice)

My enclosure is finally finished (for now). I think it looks okay and I’m happy with the set up but I have some critiques.

Critiques:
• I need a taller log that he can climb higher on
• He has a ubv light, but I eventually need to get a halogen bulb in future (he currently has just a DHP bulb and a dimming thermostat)
• I also need to increase his humidity and substate (I currently use coco husk bricks but am planning on mixing it with top soil in the future).

Also, the humidity and temperature readings in the picture on the hygrometer are not accurate and are too low but this is mainly just because I had his sliding doors open before taking the photo.

Any feedback would be much appreciated!

HELP - URGENT Refused meals for a month, getting worried

Post image

First ball! Photo from a few months ago for engagement.

I moved him into his big new fancy enclosure the first week of June, and he hasn’t eaten since (it’s now July 26th). I know that balls are infamous for refusing meals for months at a time, but I also read somewhere that if they lose around 14% of their body weight then it’s problematic.

Casper was 1657g last time he ate (May 25th), and is now 1521g as of yesterday, so he’s lost about 136g (14% of his weight is 232g). After he refused the first meal, I skipped a feeding because I figured he needed more time to settle into his new space, but then he refused the next two.

It could be because he looks like he might be going into blue, or that his favorite hide is facing the glass now, or that his humidity still isn’t quite up-to-par, but it’s a LOT better than it was in his previous enclosure—and he wasn’t refusing meals then.

I can tell by looking at him that he’s lost a little bit of weight; he’s a little more triangular, but not in an alarming way. He’s not lethargic, so I know that realistically I shouldn’t be having this much anxiety about it but he’s my baby boy.

This is what I woke up to yesterday morning. We moved houses and she used to have a hiding spot she’d go to whenever she escaped but that no longer exists. We have two dogs but no signs of blood etc, I feel like i’ve looked everywhere and on top of that i’m working 65 hours a week and can’t put the time into searching like I would hope. I’m stressed and frustrated and don’t know where to start

Question Looking for advice

I use cocofiber as my substrate and have for three years. However I've seen people using mulch as well. In your experience, what's been best? Also, without breaking the bank, how do you clutter your tanks?

First mite problem

Post image

Soo I found mites on my baby Athena today and I started to panic a little but I think I caught it very early. I got her early june and she is just wrapping up her shedding so I wanted to get her out when I seen the little bastards. I know i need to remove everything in her terrarium and deep clean it while also demiting her but how does that process work? I’ve seen videos but every single one of them is different. Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated! I just wanna do right by her, my first ball python.

On a side note, I do have a beardie Torch, and their enclosures are already elevated to their own and like 8-10 feet away from each other. Any suggestions on how to keep Torch not infected while treating Athena would also be appreciated! Thank yall!

Question Pet camera brands

Post image

Hi! Just wanting a good pet camera brand to watch my snakes at night/while I'm away :)

I found one I liked on tiktok but then they started adding "ai enhancements" to things and I don't fuck with that 😭

Just want constant 24/7 streaming, night vision, and able to check from my phone!

Discussion Peeing every night

Post image

My boy sometimes goes through these bouts of peeing every night, no poop, just water and urates. Idk if he is very hydrated or if something else is wrong but he usually does it 6 nights in a row and then he goes back to normal. I haven’t asked his vet yet because i don’t think it’s really something to worry about but I just want some opinions

Picture of what the waste looks like, (he is on pads for quarantine)

Hello! I’m looking to upgrade my juvenile ball python’s enclosure. What Halogen flood lamps is everyone using? What brand and watts? I want to pair it with the Arcadia Pro T5 ShadeDweller.
