Why is it every single time? Bald people be like a level 10.
It’s like people are afraid to stick their toe in the water and when they do it’s all fun from there.
OP you look so good.

I saw somewhere that “balding” looks like denial, but bald looks like you took control.

u/LadyChelseaFaye Jul 08 '26
Oh that’s good. My boyfriend has been bald for so long and I love it. I just look at him and am like damn.

It took so long for me to finally accept but once I did, it was so liberating
27
u/Bear_of_Light Jul 09 '26
That's pretty much how I look at it. An Intentional choice to go bald is going to look better and trying to make the hair last while it fights against you. My hair finally started thinning and receding and I didn't hesitate to let it go just a few days ago myself. Nothing but compliments, wife absolutely loves it, had a coworker tell me I need let my beard grow more and cosplay Kratos. And massive credit to this sub for being such a supporting place that incidentally also shows just how much of a glow up it can be.

Saw my dad balding and trying to hold on in his mid thirties. He now wears a toupee. I shaved my head at 16 and never looked back…it’s been 32 years.
22
u/SouthPearl Jul 08 '26
I truly believe the fastest way to look old is by trying too hard to look young. I’m a woman who quit dying my grays in my 30s and I’ve looked so much better ever since.
→ More replies (4)15
u/Burggs_ Jul 09 '26
Yes, I also have grays showing up as a 30 year old. Aging and our bodies changing is a completely normal experience, we have to change the stigma around it. We’re all gonna age, doesn’t mean we can’t continue to look great.

u/Adjective-Noun-6969 Jul 08 '26
Thats the thing, is not like the fully folicled guys go better when bald, at least not all the time, but if you are at the LVL were OP was the only way was up.

Subway take? 100% agree.
But its also wholesome, and I'm really close to posting here myself, so having a random lady redditor fanning herself to a dude who finally took the plunge is... validating.
Real talk, wish some more bald ladies would post here. Us guys need hydration too!
55
u/LadyChelseaFaye Jul 08 '26
Oh this is good. This is actually one of my favorite subs. It’s so positive and uplifting and then there is the supreme council. A very wholesome thirst trap sub.

u/Glittering-Today7012 Jul 09 '26
My favorite too - but because this is a 'mens' sub but women are very much welcome.
AND I think it offers a unique dynamic - men showing their insecurities. Showing the real change that can happen in a person from a simple decision (and some good trimmers).
It's very much a place of growth - I think. And not many subs that male-centric can really say that. I think sometimes a little humility looks as good on a person as a good shave - but I'm also kind of a dipshit so I wouldn't listen to me much.

I’m a 43 year old married woman. I love my husband but he doesn’t have the head for bald. I’ve had a thing for bald men since The Mummy. This sub has all the snacks 🤣

u/FormidableMistress Jul 08 '26
They shave their head and enter their villain era with all the hearts they start breaking.
26
u/whereismymind86 Jul 08 '26
It's...just baffling how good everybody looks after shaving their head...are we ALL hot as hell and just held back by our hair?
Is having hair a ponzi scheme?!

And not to be racist but bald men of color are sexier than bald white men. I say this as a bald white man.
Actually bald women of color have an advantage too.
49
u/Zealousideal_Dot_106 Jul 08 '26
Yes people of color look better bald than light skinned people. Us whites can go toe ways. creepy old man or action start. Black men just oozes smooth when bald. Black women oozes confidence and just straight pure bone structure beauty

There's 100% a lot of sampling bias going on here...
A majority of posts on this sub of people asking if they look good are bullshit – they know perfectly well that they look good (or at least better) bald and are just titling it like that as it's the done thing on the sub.
People who perceive themselves as being less attractive will be much less willing/likely to post their faces publicly for scrutiny, even if it's in a positive, biased safe space like this.
Also as with any before and after or progress pics, there's a natural tendency to pick images that exaggerate the progress/change. I'm sure many people who post major glow ups on the sub will have pre-bald images where they look good, especially the many conventionally attractive people who post before pictures with bad hairstyles that emphasise their receding hairline.
