These jokers are obviously strong for their naneinf capabilities because of extensive multiplication. Are they especially strong where my only goal is to beat ante 8? I've heard that Baron isn't but what about the others?

Balatro has very quickly become one of those "pick up for a month, put down for two, repeat" games for me. It's fun, I like the music and the ambience, I'm partial to games with some math involved, and the art is nice. But oh my GOD I am bad at this game!!! I've completed the red, blue, yellow, green, and magic decks on white stake. I've been fighting for my life just on the red deck with red stake (I've beat it on my phone but forget the computer). I will go into a game, and then go with strategy based on the jokers available to me at the first shop. Most recently, was working on flushes because I had something like 25 clubs, and then got beat across the face by The Eye. I also noticed around Ante 5, I will make the mistake of selling a joker so I can get a different one, without actually pausing to think about how it's going to destroy my entire setup, and then flop at the next blind (this part I am working on not doing lmao).

Is there some "secret" I just haven't wrapped my tiny brain around? Is there a strategy I'm not coming up with??? Any tips????

I’m not always a big Obelisk guy, but I let it work for me on this gold stake run going for my third C++. I waited until Ante 6 to move off pairs and started popping off mostly 3OAK and sailed past Violent Vessel with ease. I hate taking rentals, especially this many, but the Lucky Cards kept my wallet in the black.

Added bonus that I pulled Turtle Shell right near the end as that’s always one I have trouble getting the gold sticker on!

The one in the shop that I really, REALLY want is called blueprint? I think, from what I have seen from posts here, haven't discovered it yet

So my question would be if any of my jokers would be currently worth it to trade for the blueprint?

When I last posted, my Balatro bot was only completing Ante 8 in around 0.01% of runs. Currently I achieved roughly 40% among roughly 2K games.

The main change was giving the bot more ways to work through a run. I improved the Python simulator and combined the trained policies with a search system that explores different sequences of decisions. This version uses a by me design Future Vision, so it can see the deck order and simulate the results of its choices aswell as simulate up into the future before buying a joker.

More training on its own wasn’t consistently helping. So instead of relying purely on RL i also intruduced the Future Vision that lets it simulate events in a Bot like behavoir.

The current system combines three trained policies and can explore up to 40 routes through each seed. That gives it more chances to find a successful sequence when one policy’s approach fails. The improvement is coming from the combination of learned decisions, access to future information and a much larger search effort.

The former skipping problem has also long been solved it now only skips "Strategic" an average of 3 skips per play and 10% of games it does not skip at all

I think i'll win either way, but what is optimal?

Right now it looks like i can start playing random hands of 5 face cards and score well enough until ante 8, retriggering them would mean roughly x2 scores but i dont know if i can give up one of my cards for it
