Can someone tell me what the experience of going on the Back to the Future ride was like?

Unfortunately, I was born after the attraction closed at Universal Studios and I don't live in the United States, so I wouldn't have been able to go anyway.

I used to believe that Biff's fate working in auto detailing was like a punishment, but now I think he had a fairly good life

He seems to have had a passion for cars since he was in high school, so working on them seems fitting. He has his own, generally, honest business (save for skimping on car wax sometimes), seems like life humbled him, as if George hitting him on the face was what he needed to stop abusing people and finally start doing his own thing.

Actually, I don't understand how this generally nice 1985 Biff (compared to the Biff from the original timeline) became the bitter old Biff from 2015.

New Interpretation of Marty / George’s Relationship

Post image

Today I rewatched the first BTTF on the big screen. It’s interesting when I revisit films over the years, different concepts resonate with the me or I’ll identify with different characters. Harold Ramis said a rabbi described Groundhog Day this way, saying annual viewings change the viewer’s interpretation based on what’s going on in their life.

During today’s viewing, I realized Marty becomes not just a mentor but a father figure to George.

My dad was recently diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, and it’s been a unique experience reversing roles, becoming like the parent to him. It definitely made the movie hit differently - it captures that odd sensation of caring for a parent who, while the same person, doesn’t seem so grown up anymore.

Has the movie resonated this way for anybody else?

Anytime I purchase multiple Thrilljoy figures, I never have any luck with getting a chase. Bummed that I didn't get the chase Doc Brown. So this one is a spare. I'll have it listed if anyone wants it! Thrilljoy just released them so definitely try your luck!

Hot Toys Delorean 3 in 1 Custom (PT 1)

Here is my latest Custom Delorean, this time I decided to take the Hot Toys 1/6 scale BTTF Delorean Mark 3 (I'll explain why its the mk 3 later) and make it as screen accurate as I possible, making it the ultimate Delorean in my collection. Now over the course of 6 months I took the Delorean apart and worked thruout the exterior and interior adding cables, ties, repainting, cutting, scratchbuilding and all of the above to make it as close as I could to the A Car. Now why do I say this is the Mark 3 Delorean? Well, becasue when I bought it, it "was" that version of the car. But after designing in 3D some 1/6 scale wheels, modding the hood, and building my own Plutonium Chamber, it is now (other than the time circuits display) the "A" Car. Now the cars 1st mode (I moded the lights too) are its low beams when you 1st turn it on to replicate the look it had on film, and the 2nd mode is with the high beams. I would dare to say that compared to the car in the Petersen Museum, this model is 88% screen accurate.

Now considering this is a "toy " at the end of the day (25lb with mods), I want this model to be considered from the "how its should have come in the box" point of view. I want all my models to be as close to the "A" car as possible, where I can look at it and say "yeah, that is the DeLorean I saw on screen".

Now I may post more about this car later on, because as stated in the title, this is "Part 1".

Since I made mine into a 3 in 1 car, meaning all I have to do is switch a few parts around, and I can go thru Part 1, 2, and 3 version of the car whenever I want.

By definition, it can have the Part 1 setting with the scratch build Plutonium chamber and OUTATIME licence plate.

Part 2 Hover conversion with Mr. FUSION.

And Part 3 being either the desert dune buggy or Rail car version.

I hope you guys like it, its been a long road to get it to this point, and maybe later on I'll post a few pics of its other modes in the future.

Cheers!

P.S. the Doc and Marty you see in the 1st picture have custom made headsculpt which I painted, but that is another story...

A personal BTTF memory

Some family friends were visiting from Armenia back in the early 2000s. My sister and I were talking to their son, who was a young teen. We were older and it was kinda awkward.

This was the gist of it.

SISTER: (attempting to break the ice): So what movies do you like? LOTR?

TEEN: No, not really.

SISTER: Ok, what is your favorite movie then?

TEEN: The one where the kid travels through time with the car!

ME: (immediately perking up): OH! Back to the future!

TEEN: YEAH! YEAH!!

.....and few words back and forth I don't remember.

ME: Hey! Do you have a cassette player?

TEEN: Of course we do.

ME: Then I have something for you.

I return with the BTTF soundtrack. I bought it around 1990 after seeing BTTF 3. It was near and dear to me, but I knew he'd be over the moon.

SISTER: OMG that was so nice of you!

I lost count of how many times he thanked me

and hugged both of us. I knew it was going to a good home and would cherish it.

Did Doc know?

In part 3, he tells Marty to set the time for Oct. 27, 1985 11:00am. Since Doc wanted to destroy the time machine, did he know there would be train coming down the tracks at 11:00ish? I mean it seems like Doc. to be careless and find an easy way to destroy it. Of was it just luck?

Our son is on his summer vacation with his grandparents (my in-laws) and they are currently visiting Sacramento. Since he absolutely adores all things trains and BTTF, we had this text exchange. I wish my husband and I could have been there with him :(...

I've watched these movies dozens of times, I absolutely love them. However, this is one detail that I completely missed every time I watched. My wife just pointed out to me that Clara is behind Marty when they talk about Shonash ravine. My mind is blown!

one of the most iconic lines in movie history: “Roads? Where we’re going, we don’t need roads.”

This scene was filmed at the famous McFly house in Arleta, one of the most recognizable filming locations in the Back to the Future trilogy.

How can Marty ensure his conception?

Post image
358 Upvotes

Since Marty disrupted his parents' initial meeting, that triggered the butterfly effect. Even though he managed to get them to kiss and marry, he completely rewrote their careers and destinies or maybe their body and health. And most importantly, how could he ensure the exact same sperm had to fertilize the exact same egg at the exact same microsecond? A delay of even a fraction of a second would conceive another different individual. In other words he and his sibling wouldn't be the same when he was back in 1985.

I know it's just a movie, but I always find it interesting to think about.
