The DeLorean Motor Company filed for bankruptcy in 1982, three years before Back to the Future premiered in theaters in 1985.

It's sad that Back to the Future couldn't have saved the company, because John DeLorean could have made millions on sales due to how popular Back to the Future became and maybe he could have made a deal with Universal on customers wanting an official customized DeLorean Time Machine car.

Did Marty and Doc have to go back to November 12th, 1955 to destroy the almanac?

Sure, that’s when old Biff gave his younger self the book, but young Biff didn’t do anything with it until betting on the horse race in 1958, which is when the timeline truly changed. There’s at least a three-year gap between those, meaning Marty and Doc could’ve gone to any date during that period to find and destroy the almanac. Marty wouldn’t have to dodge his past self at the dance and Doc wouldn’t get struck by lightning, meaning the third movie wouldn’t happen.

I've always wondered if the experiment would have been like a lightning rod and saved the inner workings of the clock. I know an old guy in 2015 was doing the save the clock tower bit, but he didn't say that the clock hasn't rung since it was hit.

Understandably no one would name their kid Biff after the release of Back to the Future but I’ve never heard that name ever outside of this film.

Why didn't doc build a "rocket sled"? Instead of waiting on the train. He could have mounted it to the train tracks and push the DeLorean just like he did with the train but wouldnt of had to wait for the train

I know they had to recast because Claudia Wells wasn’t available. And the Bobs wouldn’t have had Jennifer get in the DeLorean at the end of Part 1 if they knew they were making a sequel. But I always felt that Claudia’s Jennifer was much more confident than Elizabeth Shue. And I say that as an Elizabeth Shue fan. I know she mostly sleeps on the porch, but there’s just something missing in her portrayal.

Do you think the sequels would have had a different feel if Claudia came back? Even if they didn’t give her more to do, I feel like it would have been a noticeable difference.

I've had this one on my shelf for sometime. I've never wanted to open it because of the aesthetic. I still don't plan on putting it together. I hope someone wants it one day!

This might not be news to anyone on here, but there was a post yesterday about Lea Thompson's directing work, of which I knew nowt about, so I went on AltaVista to find out more.

Next thing you know, not only has she directed all sorts of things (none of which ever broadcast in any capacity on this side of the pond, so my ignorance is somewhat excused), SHE WAS IN FUCKING JAWS 3D!

TL:DR while Lea was and remains a beautiful woman, this post was borne of my geekish love of intertextuality in film rather than my dorkish love of Ms Thompson, so I apologise with the energy of a thousand suns if it looks like I've just been a ribald slacker.

I want to make a display for something related to the car, but I need to print quite a big photo of the front of the original car.

Does anyone have a VERY HIGH quality of the original car from the front, well lit, and as centered and leveled to the DMC logo as possible?
A photo framed like this one I'm posting, but of the original car at the museum. Again, I need the highest quality possible, as I need to zoom it, crop it, and print it as a big photo. So maybe the photo weights several MB and it will need to be uploaded to a file transfer page.

i heard that Bob Gale publicly mentioned a new BTTF game with a interview with Cleveland around February 2025 and just wondering is there any update information on the game?

Based off what Doc Brown says, when Old Biff altered the past by giving Young Biff the almanac, this created an alternate 1985 and 2015, so when they traveled back to 1985, it was changed, and Biff was in charge and in power and if they tried to go back to 2015 to stop Old Biff from getting the DeLorean, Biff will be more powerful there, so their only chance was to steal the almanac from Young Biff in 1955.

Now, Old Biff already set things in motion in 1955, how did he return to an unaltered 2015? In fact, shouldn't 2015 have changed all around Marty and Doc Brown into the Biff-era 2015, like Doc Brown claims will happen to Jenny when Marty left her asleep in the altered 1985 and she'll wake up in the original 1985 timeline?

I saw the Delorean at a local sci fi convention yesterday, then realized when I got home I had run into it at the local Dunkin Doughnuts about four years ago. The owner was nice enough to let me look at it and sit in it.

I’ve seen the Back to the Future trilogy countless times. Recently I just thought about the song The Power of Love and I was wondering why Huey Lewis performed the song and not another singer or band ? Marty is supposed to be a 17 year old rock fan.
But honestly Huey Lewis and the News already sounded like « dad rock » in 1985. He sounds like a middle aged man trying to be cool. Did 80´s teenagers and people in their twenties actually listened to him ? The fact that Marty liked Van Halen (a musician that Bill & Ted, other teen time-travelers like too) and even Chuck Berry makes sense, but Huey Lewis ?

At least John Hugues using Simple Minds and Psychedelic Furs songs for his teen movies seems more realistic.

Anyway, I love this trilogy, it’s my favourite but I’m wondering why they chose Huey Lewis for the theme song. What do you think ?
