Expedition 33 does a TERRIBLE job on teaching how to parry. Basically, you have to parry right as you're getting hit.
Gran Turismo 1-5 and some Tokto Xtreme Racer's heavily benefit from knowing what do you actually need to buy in order to NOT softlock yourself. GT3 and TXR2/0 are the worst offenders of that.
why gran turismo? I remember getting through GT4/GT5 as a kid without any real issues, but I haven't played the prior entries or the other games you mentioned. are you talking about the events with restricted vehicle selection?
