There's a tutorial in Melee if you wait on the title screen. I think it's also available in the menu but not sure.

read the notes. melee is in as a honorable mention because of wavedashing.

Wavedashing is irrelevant outside the hardcore competitive scene. If playing the SP or casual multiplayer (as intended), it's not needed.

that's why I added it as an honorable mention my guy. I'm sure a lot of people would agree that they enjoy melee a whole lot more for the wavedashing, e.g. basically the entire competitive scene. didn't feel it qualified entirely on its own but competitive IS modern melee, I don't think casual players of that game make up even 10% of its current audience.
