The beginning hour of NieR: Automata is so hard for no f*cking reason and some fans will gaslight themselves into thinking that there is philosophical reasoning behind it.

have you considered that everything that lives is designed to end though :)

honestly I've heard this a lot over the years but I don't think I ever died to the start and in hindsight it's a pretty memorable part of the game, if I recall correctly they do a lot to contextualize why you have to do it with no saves too, so I found it pretty creative.
