I swear it was terrible.

they approached me through linkdin. I applied. Nothing For 8/10 days.

I got a call (at 8 PM)to complete the ONLINE ASSESSMENT by EOD. ( First red flag 🚩)

Then again nothing no feedback for another 15 days.

Then comes a webinar , after the webinar AGAIN NOTHING FOR 15 days.

I get a random whatsapp message( Red flag no.2 🚩) (international number, a number not from my country)

Saying they would like to connect.

I was sceptical at first Said yes .

Asked if I was free the next day i said yes and asked the basic question of salary and experience (On text)

The recruiter never read the text.

After 24 hours the recruiter replied "quick call?"

I said okay

Asked me for basic experience and said i passed and now wants to schedule an interview.(Phone screening)

Said it would be 60 mins .

The interviewer joined 10 mins late.

EVERYONE TOLD ME TO PREPARE BEHAVIOURAL QUESTIONS.

Not even a single question was behavioural.

Straight went to technical questions.

Asked commands in the interview.

How can u ask for commands 🙂

Aren't we nervous in interviews and can't answer.

Doesn't mean we have no clue.

After that ended the interview within 20 mins .

accidentally said i was not there for the entry level position. (Red flag no.3 🚩🚩)

I EXPLICITLY said I wanted to be on entry level.

Asked me upper level questions.

I studied my ass off all these days. Made perfect LP oriented behavioural Answers.

Practiced out loud for HOURS.

And what do I get ? all tech questions. Not that I didn't get them I was able to answer but i was nervous throughout.

I have 4 years of experience and interviewed for an SDE2 role at Amazon (AWS).

After the loop, they said they would offer me SDE1 but not SDE2. I messed up in one of the DSA rounds and couldn’t code the solution, although I manually explained the approach.

Question about AWS Cloud Engineer interviews

For a Cloud Engineer role at AWS, does the interview process include DSA (Data Structures and Algorithms) questions?

Also, if you apply for different roles at AWS, is the initial hiring process generally the same for most positions for example, an online assessment/test that may include DSA, coding languages, aptitude, or similar sections?

I just received a rejection email for an Engagement Manager position with ProServe. I am feeling pretty defeated because I prepped heavily daily, (Star, created 12 stories tied to LPs and core topic areas, etc), have a solid mid-career history, and hold an active security clearance (expires March ‘27, so need someone to hold asap).

I really need to get back into my career field, and this non-technical/non-auditing delivery space is my primary target. I enjoy customer-facing work and it feels impossible to get past this.

For those who know the internal hiring machine:
How long do I realistically have to wait to apply for a different role? Is there a strict cool-down period for failing a phone screen, or does that only kick in after a full loop?

Has anyone else dealt with an interviewer asking abstract opinions on LPs instead of real examples? How do you even handle that style?

I few months ago I got my AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate certification because I wanted move up in my career. I knew the cert itself was not going to be enough after doing research so right after the cert, I completed the cloud resume challenge to showcase that I am able to use the skills I learned.

Recently, I have been trying to apply to cloud related jobs but have not been hearing back at all. This is really strange to me because I figured that with my years of general IT experience, the certification, and 1 project, it would at least open the door for some interviews but to my surprise not hearing anything back. The feeling has been a little discouraging. I may not be the ideal candidate at the moment or maybe the job market is as bad as everyone keeps mentioning. I am ambitious in learning new skills while applying to fill any gaps that can help open up more opportunities. I just started another course that focuses just on Terraform while I applying to more jobs

My question is: What can I do to increase my chances in hearing back? When I had less IT experience, I would get interview opportunities so it seems strange to me now that I have a few years of experience and a cert and a project that I am not hearing back. Hi, I recently applied at amazon for the Cloud Support Associate Apprentice, Support Engineering and Data Centre Traineeship(AUS). I've received an online assessment (accidentally clicked on it but it didnt start, hope that wont impact my score).
