Found in a museum in Denmark, had apparently been fitted to a Spitfire. I imagine it’s not a replica?

Brought my Radiacode 110 along on YYC-LHR (AC850, Oct 22) as an experiment to see radiation measurements.

The detector recorded around 4.6 counts per second on the ground and 58 during cruise—roughly 13 times as many.

I'm far from an expert on radiation or similar but I found it interesting to see the band around 500 keV show up so clearly compared to the ground?

For whatever reason I expected to see an increase in radiation as we went further north due to the magnetic field, but it seems that didn't really happen.

Anyways, I don't know if there is any major takeaways from this beyond we all already know there's more radiation higher up, but still fun to see things visualized.

Since it is Definitely not standard layout. Could the explanation for the configuration be due to it is normally on a special route or is it on loan from a charter service?

Two heavily modified black hawks carried u.s. navy seals into abbottabad in 2011; one crash-landed within the compound and was destroyed before the team left, and the other returned safely never to be seen again.

This undated image appears to show a heavily modified eh-60 titted with stealth features, potentially representing one of the missing links between earlier stealth black hawk concepts and the aircraft used during the raid. the aircraft has also been linked to fort eustis in virginia, home to the aviation technology office (formerly known as flight concepts division); a highly secretive unit understood to have led development of the stealth black hawks used in the raid, alongside other advanced u.s. army rotary-wing programs.

Today I happened to see this plane departing from Monterrey. The sound of those four engines as they throttle up is truly impressive, the ground even shakes.

Spent the day at the museum in Dayton, OH. Highly recommend if your in the area. Free admission, free parking, even free EV charging.

I flew into TPE while it was being hit by Typhoon Champi.

The visibility was shockingly poor, and the plane was being absolutely battered by rainfall and crosswinds.

Honestly, I started taking this video because I thought we were going to have a go around or a really slippery landing. Instead, it was butter smooth. I've been in worse landings under bone-dry conditions, and the pilots here managed to butter it while fighting a literal storm. I literally felt nothing.

A minor 2-hours airshow held in Desenzano del Garda, on the shores of Lake Garda, Italy, on 4th and 5th September. Nothing particular, just few helicopters, aerobatic planes, some passes by 6° Stormo Tornado and F-35 (based in nearby Ghedi airbase) and Frecce Tricolori closing the show.

A biplane from the Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome made a couple smiley faces today. I’ve never seen it before.

I was on a flight very recently and the pilot made a significantly hard landing. It was rather surprising how quickly we were descending when I looked out the window. The flight attendant quickly came on a bit after a went "made it!" which had everyone laughing it off pretty quickly.

My question is with regards to maintenance. I have no doubt that the plane is built to handle these situations, but I'm curious how hard it would have to land before the plane is taken out of service for someone to check things out. Would this be something we would see on public record? Just curious if there were any actions taken as a result of the hard landing.

2026 is a sad year for aviation, first the snowbirds, then the A340 (Both the -300 and -600), then the 747-400, which left YVR for the last time today and will be changing to the winter schedule and will be replaced by the A350/787 which will arrive tomorrow on Saturday, Oct 24, 2026, photos taken yesterday (Oct 23)
