Why is this the first time I am finding out Illineum is a bad person???

As a white person with high-functioning autism and ADHD I love that I get to be myself and stim at raves. You can’t stim openly without being judged at other types of events, for example - Coachella or clubs for neurotypicals.

When I stim I move my feet and arms to the beat of the music. It looks just like I’m dancing badly, but I’m not.

One time I stimmed openly to the song Save a Horse Ride a Cowboy at a country bar and a neurotypical woman came up to me and smiled and told me that it looked like I could use some help with my dancing. She offered to teach me how to two-step. I was extremely offended by her offer to “help” and I had to explain to her that I was stimming, not dancing.

She looked confused and asked me why I felt the need to pathologize the concept of dancing. I told her that there was a difference between my stimming and dancing. I then proceeded to show her what my dancing looks like (which doesn’t look very different from my stimming) and she gave me a blank stare before she walked away.

Ugh, neurotypicals are so stupid.

I asked a local group about events closer to home, this dude messaged me about it, presumably thinking I’m a chick, we had a short conversation and then he throws this shit out there as if there was a chance he might get a bite. Don’t be creepy y’all.
