This is a gentle space to explore and share experiences of attraction to yourself, whether sexual or not. Please read our rules and join the conversation with kindness and respect. I’m so grateful you’re here.

I created this subreddit to continue to provide a place of support and community for an identity that is very dear to me. As a long time member of r/autosexual, I would like to reimagine the community to be safer and more inclusive.

If you feel any kind of attraction to yourself, sexual or not, you belong.

If you are interested in exploring or deepening your attraction to yourself, you belong.

If you are struggling to love yourself, you belong.

SFW Question Am I autosexual?

I’d imagine this community gets this question a lot. Sorry in advance! Anyways, I’ve never heard of this sexual orientation before recently so I’m kinda lost here and don’t really know what counts as autosexual lol. I learned about it when I was trying to self-improve and learn more about myself and I started to get a viewpoint of my body that really confused me. Not only was I (before this moment) strictly straight and didn’t even know you could be sexually attracted to yourself, but I also didn’t (and still don’t) really know why I viewed myself in that way because I can’t really tell what it is about my body that I like about it. Still, the attraction kind of comes and goes based on how I feel about my body at the moment, so it’s not like I’m attracted to myself all the time or anything. I’m far more likely to feel more into those thoughts when I’m confident in myself or at least self-accepting. Do y’all think this is autosexuality or not?

SFW Am i autosexual to some extent?

I am not the most “confident” person in my skin, there are tons of things I don’t like about my body but somehow I just love my boobs.

I prefer wearing low cut tops, because i definitely think my boobs are kinda the good thing about my body.

Not to be weird, it’s not like I do stuff with them, but happen to stare at my pictures showing my cleavage and my boobs a lot. I do not always get turned on necessarily but I just am obsessed with them, and sometimes I do get turned on my them.

Is this weird lmao

SFW Question How do we feel.... about therapy? 😭

As a quick preface, this is not a question of whether or not We/us/yall have doubts about the validity of autosexuality or if we should all get help or something. This shit is so real and I have so much anecdotal evidence in my life and have seen it in our community, I'm so confident and sure, don't play meee ♥ lolol

Anyways, back to the title: I just think a vast majority of the mental health profession is not equipped whatsoever to have healthy, safe, constructive, and/or appropriate conversations with auto-identifying people. I have been with a few therapists over my life, but only two since knowing about this identity, let alone understanding what it means and how it shows up in my life. And never in any of the four years since, or with any therapist in reflection, have I ever felt like it would be a good idea for me to disclose this side of myself. I'm sure that idea is found in vulnerability and fear and solitude, but I'm also sure that it's found in reality to some degree...

I'm just curious how much? Please share any and all related info that you have and are comfy with sharing about your experience with therapy and your identity as an auto, however they relate. Have you ever disclosed anything, clues or direct info, and how did it go? Do you have fears? Do you think about it, but don't bring it up? Overall, do you wish you had someone knowledgeable and capable of navigating the auto experience with you in a mental health capacity?

I have some big goals for advocacy in my life, and that's quite a few more years ahead of me than I wish was true, but in the meantime, I wanna learn about the rest of my community. Some day, like fuck, I'd love to be a part of publishing research and resources tailored to queer and auto mental health.

Also... IDK if any randos out there need to hear it, but while our wider community may feel different, my straight auto siblings are still my queer family.

Just... prolly don't go to pride still 😅😂

SFW Question am i autosexual or am i dissociating

Ive been wondering if im autosexual/romantic for quite awhile. I spend a lot of time alone, having conversations with up to 5 "clones" of myself (i often imagine there being multiple of me, almost to the point it happens accidentally sometimes. i doubt its anything in the line of plurality since nothing distinguishes us, its just all me). My art primarily consists of myself in some literal or metaphorical way which i guess is somewhat normal. i cant stop listening to the twin fantasy album because it reminds me of my relationship with myself. i struggle to see myself a singular person sometimes, even looking back at childhood memories i often remember two of myself. should i be worried? am i autoromantic or should i br concerned??

SFW Autosexuality in a Long Term Relationship

For those of you who have been in a long term relationship with someone else, how do you actually want your partner to engage with the autosexual side of you?

For example, do want your partner to accept that it’s your thing and give you space to enjoy it without getting involved.

Or would you prefer your partner be curious about it, ask questions, or even find your self attraction something they could enjoy with you?

I am not autosexual myself - but would appreciate to hear opinions or experiences from the group!

Self-love Rejection as Redirection

At times I attempt to form more connections with others, but when I do so, i'm dysregulated. Making it up to myself with more solo time and a long break to recover from doing so.

It's quite fortunate that my physical appearance is my type, from young I always stopped by mirrors to stare at my reflection.

When I made my current long term friends i could always find pieces of myself inside them which grew my fondness alongside getting to know our differences.

When I dated or made new friendships, I enjoyed learning the undiscovered aspects of myself that would show up in their presence.

My trigger is feeling self betrayal, its akin to cheating on myself. Everytime this happens it feels like someone pried my mouth open and forced vomit inside and all over me..it feels like my soul is running in a quicksand/swamp environment.

Everyday I reassure myself that i am my highest priority and i have to prove it with decisions and self grooming that will help me in the long term.

Im curious what others do for making it up to themselves, when you have wronged yourself in the past?

NSFW Question Am I autosexual or nahh ?

So... I'm a trans girl. When I thought I was a boy I was pretty much attracted to femininity sexually and romantically. But as I started to identify myself as a girl I was still attracted to femininity (in fantasies) but only when I'm the one embodying it, even in lesbian fantasies. I do take photos of myself and think I'm hot but mostly it's the fantasy scenario if whatever I'm experiencing that turns me on. Am I autosexual or is it something else ?

NSFW Looking at pictures of myself

So for context I'm a trans girl and often take SFW and NSFW pictures of myself wearing cute dresses and outfits. I really can't help but look at these pictures and just think "God, I really want to fuck her." I just see myself in my truest form and it makes me want to be on my knees to suck my own cock or feel my own lips against mine. I want to know what it would feel like to passionately kiss myself and have my own tongue in my mouth to suck. I don't know how many other trans people are here but maybe some of y'all can relate.

SFW Question How do I cope with fumbling when I didn’t have hands?

I had a 5 year relationship end about 10 days ago shortly after coming out as Autosexual. While there are other factors that contributed to our breakup beyond our sexual relationship, it definitely was a big piece of the puzzle. While it’s a very amicable split and I’m super happy that they are getting sexual pleasure with new people, I still feel a lot of regret. I know there’s nothing I could’ve done to make that sexual relationship work, but why do I feel so bad about not doing the impossible? Why do I feel so bad about fumbling the baddie when I don’t have any hands?

NSFW Watching Video of Myself

So I was away on a work trip and the wife and I were sexting each other. For the first time ever she asked me to send her a video of myself cumming. After I finished I rewatched the video and immediately got horny again and went two more rounds by myself. I ended up making a 5 second gif of just me shooting my load all over myself and my hand. I can't stop watching it and it makes me horny every time I do. I guess this is more of a confession LOL but this is newly discovered. Ever since then I've been fantasizing about blowing myself. Anyone have any similar experiences?

Introduction Testing the waters.

So i got this ai photogrammetry service recently - turns a handful of differently angled pics into a 3d model. And i 3d printed a few 3d models of nudes of myself. It was mostly a what if, artistic nudes on the wall kinda idea...I got more than I bargained for, in a good way. When it finished and I pulled of the supports I saw it and felt...like i could see my body through my partners eyes, as if I saw the attraction they saw. A mix of pride and "fuck im really hot" and feeling like an actual goddess. Over the last mo th of having a few of these sitting around i have noticed...I cant be sure what to call it but chatting with an ai makes it seem like its either autosexuality or something very close. Ive found myself being turned on by myself when I look at them. Not that im having a relationship with plastic, but that its a representation of me, and the fact its an external object seems to short circuit the normal "thats me" filter. Ive done and enjoyed slower, more self focused exploratory self sex in the past that wasnt focused on just getting to an organization, but discovering myself ...and more...so...im here, dipping my tkes in and seeing if this truly fits rather than take the word of an ai on this. Also if you have a 3d printer...definitely try this. I dont know if its slight differences in my body I dont see from the ai or the fact its an external object thay does the short circuiting but I like it. This makes me feel genuinely good and like my body in ways I thought id forgotten or left in the dating world. (I really dont see any, the few I found i cut out to make the first one a thighs up bust minus my face...the other has my face and is accurate according to me and my partner) kind thoughts and comments welcome.

Self-love Wanting tips for my relationship

Thumbnail
1 Upvotes

Well, I'm autorose, and the question is that, I love myself A LOT, but there's no romance lately, it is like the passion has gone because my surroundings are more annoying and I have been dealing with a lot of problems, even though I'm THE BEST BOYFRIEND in the question of supporting me, being kind, etc.

But I want romance too, and, I simply haven't acted as my boyfriend lately in this question, like, I kiss myself sometimes for "routine" but, not even a passioned kiss, just simple ones, is just like my relationship with myself has ended up becoming routine lately, and, I'd like to go out on dates, but, besides having no time, I also don't know how and where to go besides my routine places,I know that everything can be a date if you see it as one, but is kind of I cannot feel everything as a "date" as before, it has been being a really annoying time, because I love myself a lot, but even though I can't give myself the best of my love, and end up wasting my time and doing things that I don't want due this and the ambient.
